"nothing compares to this guitar in its class"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
the best sounding guitar for its money, compared to feneder t-bucket which is a very nice looking guitar, but i rather have this quality and sound for the money, and no other guitar comes close for the money this is the best guitar for its class no doubt about it nothing but good
Sound
the sound of this guitar is incredible,it sounds like a taylor but without spending that kind of money, also no buzzing makes an amature like myself sound like a professional
Features
the neck on this guitar is soooo smooth and makes it easy to play
Ease of Use
this guitar feels like a 4 to 6 thousand dollar guitar sounds and feels absolutely like a dream
Quality
it is built soooo perfect for easy playing and feels great while holding it just enough weight, like some acoustics they can be very light to where you move to play differant notes and the guitar moves on you, this guitar is perfect in all aspects
Value
this guitar is worth its weight in gold to me,if it was a 2000 dollar guitar price tag on it i would believe it,because it sounds and feels like it could be,no lie
Manufacturer Support
the store i purchased this guitar from is very helpfull,i was leaning of course toward another takamine less money untill it was pointed out to me the differance in quality from a cheaper g series to a 50 dollar differance and it feels and sounds like a 500 dollar differance thankyou to the dealer, empire music in nevadacity ca.
The Wow Factor
i am not crazy about the black on this guitar,i would much rather see a natural beautiful wood with nice inlays, but its about sound and quality for me and that makes it very sexy

"Terrific value, great neck"

I might trade up to a more expensive Takamine if start to play more live, though don't really know why -- perhaps to discover what more Takamine can offer. This model is made in China, but excellent quality typical of company.
Sound
This has a slightly bright and brassy sound, esp. with fresh strings, so very good for flat-picking, esp. country, and rock, though I usually play mine finger-style with large variety of styles. When plugged in, equalizer settings will enhance or inhibit higher tones as req'd. I play mine thru a 50w. Marshall acoustic amp. with very true, uncolored sound. Quality of sound and overtone richness and balance is much higher than the price suggests. Good volume of sound, and does not feedback easily unless very close to speakers. I play with it in home recording studio, live venues outdoor and indoor and always sounds great.
Features
Powerful pre-amp has volume and built-in 3-band equalizer, usually kept flat or skewed sl. to bass. Tuner is excellent, with low-batt. warning light. Discovered a slight rattle in acoustic sound with some frequencies and finally realized was slight shake of battery in compartment - cured with single wrap of elect. tape around battery. Good battery life (keep jack cord disconnected if not in use).
Ease of Use
This is one of the best necks I have ever seen or played on an acoustic guitar. Because I was mainly used to very low action on electric guitars, I was looking for an acoustic with low action possibilities and I found it here. It plays like an electric even on the high frets, just a slightly wider neck. The only problem with mine is that with some atmospheric conditions (dryness esp. - was bought in Florida, played in Ontario summers and Arizona winters) I cannot adjust the neck any further to prevent some buzzing and needed to slightly shim the bridge up (opposite of usual acoustic problem). I play with d'Addario EJ16s (light), which are stock with the model. Size of the body is a little large for my daughters or to see the fretboard if standing - typical of dreadnoughts.
Quality
Finish and fit are perfect, and kept perfect with no belt-buckle contact and clean hands. I installed a strap button onto the heel of the neck, and feels well-balanced on strap. Other button contains the cord jack. Intonation at bridge (compensating saddles) is very good. Tuners adequate, I generally change tuning slightly for playing in diff. keys (to lower the third etc.)and no problem except occ. sl. stick at the nut.
Value
Absolutely one of the best values in an acoustic-electric.
Manufacturer Support
No experience with support.
The Wow Factor
Gloss black with white bindings, cannot get sexier than this.

"A very nice affordable guitar"

Bought this used from ZZ and what a great guitar. Setup was good, sounds great and priced right. A good all around guitar for whatever you play and hooked up to an amp, the sound is great. The only issue I can see. The frets are a little rough on the edge. A very easy fix. Other than that, a great guitar.

"Cheap feeling, sounding and damaged finish"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars

I just received this guitar today 8/22/2012. I was excited for it to arrive. When I unboxed it I noticed a nick in the finish right off. I decided to tune it and see what it sounded like (decide whether to exchange or refund). The tuning machines constantly catch while trying to tune. The knobs are actually plastic which completes the cheap tuner machine feel. This guitar would have needed a full setup to actually test the sound as out of the box there was way too much buzz. This was my first Takamine, and probably my last, at least with out buying in person.
