"The last guitar you'll ever need!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I expect this to be my main guitar for years to come. I see no reason to seek a replacement since it fills my every need as a player.
Sound
The sound is great!!! Clear and wholesome up and down the fret board. Compares favorably with Martin and others. The onboard electronics is a real plus, not only to plug in and play that beautiful sound, but it also has a tuner built in that is super easy to use and its accuracy is spot on. For the price, you can't go wrong with this guitar.
Features
This guitar is sold without any accesories except for the built in tuner and pick-up. A few dollars more to include a case would be a great deal. I bought a Gator "DREAD" to carry my guitar with. The case is a good addition to have.
Ease of Use
The guitar "SPEAKS" for itself! Great tone and very good action right out of the box. I am well pleased with my Takemine EG340SC. The spruce top is a real plus. This is a real eye pleaser as well as an ear pleaser!!!
Quality
Beautiful instrument! The finish is perfect and the wood grain on the back and sides is truly beyond what I expected. The solid spruce top is an eye-catching feature that makes you feel proud just to own this guitar.
Value
Great guitar! This is a real pleasure to play and the sound is wonderful! Need I say more?!?
Manufacturer Support
Although I haven't had a need for after purchase support, the support and advice I receive prior to purchase was very helpful. ZZounds has been my point of purchase for several items and I've not been sorry.
The Wow Factor
Its a winner!!! The overall sound and looks make this a desirable guitar and the price is affordable. Sex appeal is off the charts.

"Excellent Sound and Price"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I plan to keep this instrument for a very long time. Probably the best I've owned which includes my Martin.
Sound
Excellent Sound. I played many guitars and read a lot of reviews before buying this one and it paid off. Sounds like a guitar that would cost 2 -3 times more than this one.
Features
Nothing real fancy about this guitar. Gold keys are nice and the Solid Spruce top is nice. The Electronics with the built in tuner is more than adequate.
Ease of Use
The action on the guitar that I purchased is OK. May bring it to a guitar tech to see if it can be lowered a bit.
Quality
Appears to be made extremely well and very durable.
Value
Incredible instrument for the price.
Manufacturer Support
Really haven't needed them for anything. I sent in the registration and received a nice letter back from them.
The Wow Factor
The thing that is appealing about this instrument is the sound and the price.

"A great deal"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I had been studying for the best electric acoustic guitar I could buy on the net. So after hours of research I realized I wanted a Takamine EG340SC. I went to several online music stores but when I stopped at ZZSounds they had an ad for a "blemished" 340 for $299. After talking to a sales rep who assured me I would be satisfied or I could send the "messed up hunk of junk" back. Well, the guitar has a couple very s all scratches on the back but overall the guitar is beautiful and perfect. It was a steal. A great guitar with a sweet acoustic sound.

Musical Background:

I play guitar, both 6 string and bass. I used to play the bar scene now I play the church gigs. I've been playing for 33 years.

Musical Style:

I do most of my own writing but do the standards like "Amazing Grace" etc. in my own style. More rock than standard church gospe

"Can't beat it for even twice the money!"

I'm totally satisfied right now. I don't foresee that changing.
Sound
I just bought this from Zzounds, they beat the best price I could find on the internet, which is really cool. The sound is excellent! Better than a friend of mine's Martin. It really inspires you to play. I don't even want to pick up my Ovation now. Looks great and plays like a dream, almost as easy as an electric. I haven't recorded with it yet, but I think it's gonna sound great. There are two notes that buzz around the 12th fret. I just need to set it up and it'll be fine.
Features
built in tuner is nice and easy to use
Ease of Use
sound great and very dynamic depending on how you play it, muting strumming at different places. harmonics sound great too. Very easy to play, even when soloing.
Quality
seems to be built very well. finish is outstanding. I love the way the fretboard looks too.
Value
can't beat it for the money. I don't think you can beat it for twice the money. The best thing about this guitar is how it sounds and plays. I don't really care about anything else.
Manufacturer Support
having needed support
The Wow Factor
looks great, but I'm more into how it sounds and plays and that is outstanding!

Takamine EG340SC Cutaway Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
i absolutely love the sound this guitar puts out. very warm and rich tone and you can play it soft or hard and it'll still sound fantastic
Features
Basic features, onboard tuner, 3 band EQ. The only thing i would like on this is an extra strap button on the neck heel but i could deal without one. Could easily get one installed at a shop.
Ease of Use
Good set up straight from the box. Playing barred chords on this guitar was an absolute breeze.
Quality
Looks like this guitar could last a really long time if taken well care of.
Value
If i lost this, i'll buy one again. If it got damaged and unrepairable i'll definitely buy one again.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to call yet!

"Great Sexy Guitar"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If you're even thinking about getting this guitar, go for it. I don't think you'll find anything better for the money you are paying.
Sound
Sounds great. Easily compares to Taylors and Martin. Plugged in or unplugged, sounds great either way.
Features
I have to say that I love the built in tuner on this beauty. It tunes the guitar perfectly. I've played acoustics with built in tuners that don't get you tuned perfectly but this is the best I've seen.
Ease of Use
Very easy guitar to play. The cutaway helps a lot. My last acoustic did not have a cutaway and it really makes a difference if you are a soloist.
Quality
The guitar is truly a beautiful looking guitar. The gold tuners definitely are a plus and make it look very sexy.
Value
For around $450, this guitar is great. I've played a $1200 Taylor and though my Takamine was much better.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had any issues with it yet and don't really think i will.
The Wow Factor
This is a very sexy guitar.

"Good"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
i love the sound of this guitar. it's so warm feeling, and it projects very well
Features
i got a hard case for it, but that wasn't included. no worries there, it needed one.
Ease of Use
the maneuverability of the fretboard is keen. the rosewood fretboard feels great on the fingers.
Value
I picked this up for 340 and tax. I knew it was a steal, so I immediately bought it when i first played it.
The Wow Factor
The shiny finish on the body gave it a +5 sex appeal. The gold tuners gave it a +2. The color is pretty plain and traditional, but the quality of the sound is what really makes it appealing.

"suweeeeeeeet!!!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
as far as i am concerned the only thing that comes close to this instrument is a martin. this thing projects like no other guitar i have ever owned. Fire side with all my party buds or on a gig in a cave(bar) or concert hall, or just in my practice studio. Crystal clear sound and the harmonics are dead on.
Features
it only came with a hard case that i beat out of my local retailer.
Ease of Use
this thing plays like a strat! no doubt, this one is a keeper. the only thing about this guitar is that it puts a premium on technique. but that is a good thing, because the more you play it the better your technique gets.
Quality
very well made. ballanced so well that it feels like its floating in your hands. i am not real gentle with my equipment, i don't abuse it but it gets played. after all thats what i bought it for! i expect it to last the rest of my life and beyond.
Value
worth twice what i paid for it. i bought it retail with a retail markup
Manufacturer Support
i have not had one problem with it
The Wow Factor
10!
