My first guitar was a Silvertone that my parents got me in 1962 to fulfill my Christmas wish for a guitar. It was what I first learned on and played until I traded it for my first fiddle. When I saw this re-issue, read the description of up-graded construction and components, and watched video demonstrations, well, I couldn't resist. It came in short time, beautiful and playable out of the box. I adjusted the action a bit at the nut and shimmed a couple of vibrating saddles at the bridge, and changed strings, but all-in-all there was nothing "wrong" with the instrument. The neck is a joy, and the sound, which I run through a Marshall amp, has a wide spectrum of colors. It has a distinctive voice, especially warm clean from the bridge pup. And it is really cool looking. It is more than just a return to the good ol' days.

The appearance of this re-issue was very close to the original. The sound is very full and a combination of the sound of a Tele and a Strat with a bit of Les Paul. The action is very tight and it took a little getting used to.

Musical Background:

Played proffessionally for nearly 30 years

Musical Style:

Country, blues, rock

I received this guitar yesterday and it looks amazing and appearance is pretty close to the original 1962 Silvertone. I plugged it in to my amp last night and started playing and that's where I was really impressed. The tones I was getting out of this guitar made my American made, 50th anniversary Strat suddenly become the second best sounding guitar that I own. It's not a real close race either. I could have bought three of these for the price I paid for the Strat. I haven't had this out on a Gig yet but that's coming up very soon. Zzounds made this so easy to buy on their installment plan - that I am seriously thinking that once I get done with my last payment on this, I may buy a second Jupiter. This guitar is everything I hoped it was and much more! If you don't believe me - buy it and see for yourself!
