I bought this bass, hesitant about the passive pickups because I have had issues in the past switch between active and passive basses during a set and having a huge volume difference. The passive pickups are a complete non-issue. I can switch back and forth and never drop my sound one bit. This is my first fretless so I was a bit nervous about it, but the fretlines make it easy to know exactly where you are on the neck. It's not too heavy or light in weight, it's a solid all around winner. The quilted top is beautiful. The only thing I don't like is that there is no master volume or kill switch on the pickups, so you have to turn two knobs down at once. If that is not an issue for You, then get this bass! (I had to rate manufacturer support, however I haven't had to use it, so therefore I give them perfection, so if I ever need them, I hope they are!)
