Sounds fantastic, looks cool. People comment on its classy look and how balanced out the sound is (crisp, good lows, great response). Amazingly good at reducing on-stage bleed through.

"Great sounding and looking mic"

I bought it for the "look" mostly, but had read numerous reviews to get an idea of how it sounded and held up. It does sound really nice with *my* voice (gravelly-growly Billy Gibbons blues-rock baritone), definitely an improvement over the inexpensive stray budget mics I've been using for years. The tilt-hinged feature is nice, as it allows it to be pointed towards me even with weird crowded stage stand placement. The only issue is as others have described with the XLR connection being too close to the threaded mount hole, which is a problem if you use a locking collar nut (every one I tried overlapped the XLR hole). My solution was to tighten one snug against the bottom, mark where the XLR connection was, then file off a flat where I marked. Clears perfectly now.I recommend this mic, for it's sound, price and looks.

"Always wanted one..."

This microphone is timeless. I've always wanted one since I was a wee little one watching the movie Streets Of Fire. Diane Lane looked so hot using this microphone as a kidnapped singer/rock star in that movie!
Sound
Good sound! SHURE microphones in general hold the highest quality in sound. Not only is this microphone the super model chick of microphone hottness it sounds amazing and clear. Everyone can be a rock star with this mic.
Features
Of course it's fricken beautiful! The only thing I can do without is the on/off switch on the front. It is easy when performing on stage to move your hands/fingers and accidently turn it off when in the moment and getting crazy.
Quality
Very durable!
Value
a little expensive to me but I'm cheap & starving...

"Looks Better Than It Sounds"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

Sound
After recording vocals with this microphone, I adjust the EQ gain knobs, and the middle-high band consistently has a "tin can" sound, and the gain on that band has to be lowered. The band between low and middle also becomes muddled and loses clarity if you increase the EQ gain, less so if you decrease the gain. If you are looking to get one decent vocal microphone, I'd definitely recommend getting a $100 condenser mic over this; I've had no such problems with a condenser mic. For use in performance, the mic doesn't have much presence, you really have to lean in up close to it, which is tough if you're strumming an acoustic guitar.
Features
The features I wish it had would be more presence, and no "tin can" sound.
The Wow Factor
You've probably seen models posing with this mic in countless ads over the last couple of years, which is kind of lame, because now if you have it, then it looks like you're just posing too. And unfortunately it looks better than it sounds.
