This is my second bass guitar, the first being an entry level Ibanez I bought years ago. This bass has a nice slick neck that is easy for any sized hands to play and I have huge hands if you were wondering, it works great for me. There is no neck dive really, it's well balanced. It may need a setup out of the box, I used a couple of YouTube videos to learn how to do it and it worked fine but if you may want to take it to a professional for your first setup if you're unsure about doing it yourself.

I start this review with the caveat that I am a guitar player... pretty much solely. I've been tracking some demos out and have been using a couple of different plugins for my bass... and they're fine... BUT there's just something about a human playing a bass that is just "better" to me. After debating over a few different models, I bought the Schecter Stiletto Extreme 4. It is absolutely insane how nice this bass is straight out of the box. I literally tuned it, plugged it into my Kemper, found a nice patch, hit record, and off we went.The neck feels great. Again, I'm a guitarist with not much experience on bass at all in four decades of playing... so the thin, almost Rickenbacker-style neck is great. Very smooth and consistent. Doesn't tire out my hand at all. The knob setup/electronics allow you to dial in just about any kind of bass tone you can imagine.Cosmetically, it's gorgeous... the top is ridiculous, the inlays, the general aesthetic of the bass is top-notch.The sole "complaint" I have is that it could use a separate battery compartment for the (very nice) Schecter active pickups... the battery is under the main backplate. Having to deal with taking off a plate that is screwed into the wood instead of just flipping a latch open... not a huge fan, but it's honestly a rather minor deal.Overall, if you are in need of a bass... this is a CRAZY good deal for the price.

This is my first bass so I'm certainly not an expert. I have played guitar for a while so I'm not totally unfamiliar with what's what. I knew I wanted to spend a bit more than what many beginner basses start at, but not a wild amount of money of course. This fit the bill perfectly. It has really good hardware, bridge and tuners. Electrics seem decent. All the knobs are smooth and do what they're supposed to. The neck is satin and fast feeling.. It has an actual rosewood fretboard and the paint is totally cool. I'm really happy with my purchase. zZounds is the best. I've been a customer for years. I'm so stoked on the pay as you play plans since I'm really on a tight budget. Awesome!

Schecter guitar research built a real bass in this schecter. love the neck and the range of sounds with the humbucklers. all bass players should try schecter out

Been wanting a schecter bass for a while right now and decided on the stiletto extreme and i could not be more satisfied with the purchase. Its so comfortable to play and sounds great. Both guitar players in my band play schecter guitars and now ive got one to add to the stage and ive got zZounds to thank for it.
