I was drawn to the guitar by its looks. Down right sexy. I purchased the white model. This is a Metal guitar only! If you are planning on using it for any other type of music, I'm afraid you might be disappointed. The location of the bridge pickup is the only thing I wasn't digging. If you listen to Keith you'll know this pickup placement is a signature part of his sound. But I thought I could dial it in and change that. You can't. You always get that distinctive...sound. The neck is SICK! Fret work was spot on and the cutaway allows easy access to higher frets for soloing. Also, locking tuners. Absolutely rad. Shecter really out did themselves on this guitar.

The combination of the swamp ash body and hardtail hardware was overall lighter than my mahogany Diamond series schecter with floyd rose, that was the first thing I noticed. The neck is designed thinner and with tremendous playability. These Blackened Black Winter pickups by Duncan are better than the originals. The magnets are different and I like that the Semour Duncan is darkened for appearance sake. I wanted to get away from the flash of the crazed bat frets on my other guitar and have something more serious. I purchased a blemished guitar at a discount and for the life of me I see nothing wrong with it other than the cellophane from over the pickups was missing. The Bridge pick up is spaced right near the fretboard and perfect height and as I write I am comtemplating raising the bridge pick up which is 3/8ths of an inch under the strings. This guitar has all the distortion one could ask for. I run a Laney 15 watt amp head with a Laney vintage celestion 2x12 cabinet. My preamp setup is great and a distortion pedal is absolutely unnecessary and have little purpose. This is my first guitar without lockdowns or a Rose bridge. I like it so far. The guitar is as black as my heart.

I just play at home hobbiest.
