Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid C-1FR Electric Guitar

This quilt-maple-topped Schecter is about more than great looks. Loaded with EMG 57 and 66 humbuckers and a Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo, it's a tonal chameleon.

This guitar color is amazing.. You hold it one way and its a purplish color..hold it another way and its a bluish color.. play-ability is very nice very fast neck.. the quality is the best ive seen..I was looking at some 3k gibsons and they all had some cosmetic issue.. every schecter ive ever owned has been spot on. like play it out of the box good. i highly recommend you pick one on these up!

"Great Guitar"

Overall, it's a great guitar for the $1000 price range.
Sound
The EMG 57/66's are nice. Good tone switching with the three way switch. Doesn't sound like a particularly "hot" pickup set. I got this guitar set up in Drop C for melodic death metal and it get's the job done. Highly recommend getting a compressor pedal.
Features
Floyd Rose 1000 series is in this model. This was my first floyd rose and I sort of made the mistake of getting this over the fixed bridge model as I use 3 different tunings. Basically, if your band has more than one tuning, you're going to need this one for just one of those tunings. Once it is set up, it is a HUGE pain to tune. I had to spend $80 for a guitar tech to set it up for Drop C. Grover tuners are nice though. Overall, the guitar is very high end feeling.
Ease of Use
The action is super low. I had fret buzz when I got the guitar and even after paying a tech to set up the floyd rose, it still has fret buzz. Not noticeable unless you're playing at low volume and can actually hear the guitar in your hands. Easy to use with my Blackstar amp.
Quality
Very well made. The back of the neck is just pristine. Guitar is quite heavy compared to similar looking model's.
Value
Schecter does lose it's value over the years. This isn't a Gibson. I've seen Hellraiser models go for $300 used when they are $700-1000 new.
Manufacturer Support
Did not deal with Schecter or zZounds. Shipping was free and it came within 48 hours. Some of the best shipping around.
The Wow Factor
Very thin neck...you can shred until your bananas.

Musical Background:

Playing Piano/Synths/Workstations since 2001. On and off with the guitar since 2003...I'm intermediate.
