"Great Sound for the Dollar-Smooth"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I play an I 5 audix mic normally with an adapter going through a Nanoverb and an Art Tube MP to boost the signal. The nanoverb has 2 inputs so I added my wireless mic and I'm playing the HM40 Samson exclusively now.
Sound
The Sound of the HM40 Samson Mic has a smooth mid range, slightly warm low end and the highs are sweet. Very Nice Mic setup for the buck. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound. If your Key Noise coming from your sax comes through your mic you need to get it fixed. No Key Noise for me.
Features
Everything you need comes with the mic. the plastic cover is delicate to replace the battery and could easily break if you don't handle it with care but otherwise nice. The battery last 3 gigs.
Ease of Use
The mute and power switch could be confusing if you get in a rush.
Quality
I take very good care of all my gear with loading and unloading and setting up and tear down. It should last a long time. If you treat it with respect it will be around for a while.
Value
For the buck you really can't beat it.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor
No belt pack. I love that.

"Great product!!! Easy ordering!!! Received product when promised!!!"

This is a great wireless micfrophone. It should last a while so I would not be searching for another one. However, Zzounds made the ordering for my purchase very easy and was shipped and received when they told me. It is also a great thing that you can make payments.
Sound
This microphone has a great sound. It is worth the money.
Features
After I purchased the microphone I went online and read some reviews. One said to get the case for it. It would be helpful in the description of the product to suggest the case. Now I will have to order it. I would have liked to order it at the time I purchased the microphone.
Ease of Use
I am not very technical but I do have a few friends that were able to set it up with no problem.
Quality
The sax sounds so good with this microphone.
Value
There are a few cheaper microphones but the people who posted reviews helped me a lot to choose the best microphone for the money.
Manufacturer Support
I had some questions about the product and the staff gave me the info I needed to make my decision on what to order easier.
The Wow Factor
The look of the product is not the reason I bought it. It is the sound quality and easy set up.

This is my third one over a number of years. It is the only truly wireless horn mic I know of. It works great. Overall I'm happy with it. The one draw back is the clip where you fasten it on the horn is a little weak and has eventually broke on my previous 2.....but being totally wireless with no belt pack out weighs having to replace every few years..

"Airline 77 Wind"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Brought one yesterday but upon delivery the Antenna A is broken (somebody must have broke it when try it) Performance in the same night ... sound acceptable with very good high tone. Distance Ok within 100 feet.Noted it so easy to play a wind instrument now without the restriction of a cable here and there and the worst part stepping on a dangling cable. So far OK .. its still new let see how it goes in days to come.Freedom in moving around now. If you get a good sound engineer they can tweet to sound like a professional. Recommence to buy one !! the only thing is that the plastic are cheap skate consider the price paid. Hope the circuit will last.

This was a replacement for my previous Original Samson Airline that I have had for almost 15 years. It suffered a broken mount due to a careless idiot who briefly got around My equipment while I was away for a few minutes. I ordered this unit because I have had no problems with the original Airline and The audio quality has been great.I I bought the first one not long after Samson came out with them. I purchased a higher quality Microphone Element than the standard one and it came with a Small Metal ring Shockmount. The new one does not have the shockmount, but They may have determined that it isn't actually needed. I liked the Shockmount on the Original model.and I wish That Samson would have a choice of microphone Elements with or without shouckmount to choose from as before.. The Original Receiver was quite small with only one Short antenna. I attached it to a high point on My Bose Speaker Tower and The Audio Quality is much the same as my original. I do like the self contained transmitter and microphone all in one. You cannot beat the freedom this unit offers. I have used beltpack preamps and transmitters, I like the Microphone and transmitter as they have designed The Airline 77. And AAA batteries are easy to find, always use Alkaline no matter what brand. Battery life is good with The Airline 77. When using Wireless, The True Diversity System is best to prevent any dropouts with signal. I rarely experienced any problems with the Original Single Anttena. This system is a Great design, works well and reproduces Sound waves spot on. The Product Box is Good to keep it in after use, But I have a small pelican case that houses the receiver, Microphone/transmitter, Power cord, line out cables and batteries after performances. The Airline w HM40 System is high quality audio product.

A friend recommended this brand. He has an older model from a couple of years ago and it works fine. I have used his on a song or two in his band. My unit looked improved with two antenna's instead of one. I used it at home to try it out, at a rehearsal with another sound system and a gig with the sound system we use on jobs I used it about an hour and after the break I could not get it going again. Tried several new batteries but never was able to get it going again. I called tech support and they said I was doing everything right so just return the unit to where I bought it. The unit was replaced promptly from zZounds. I haven't had a chance to try it yet so this review is incomplete. I loved it until it died. It sounded great and gave me so much freedom. Maybe before you play a job with it , you should have a backup plan in case of a problem. I am hoping this was just a rare fluke and my replacement works great I won't rate it by stars as I don't think that would be fair at this incomplete stage.

"The clamp"

Overall: 1 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Just so long as you don't bop around even a little bit when you perform then this mic is fine. I've taken to jimmy rigging the thing to keep it on my sax. Many times the mic has fallen off in the middle of a performance. Extremely embarrassing!!! A MAJOR DEFECT THAT SAMSON MUST ADDRESS!!!. Until they do shop for a mic with a screw clamp. Everything else about the mic is fine but zero stars here for one simple reason...the mic is useless if it doesn't stay attached to your horn.

"Give it a shot - this is a great mic for Sax Players..."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Sound quality is great - get the squelch worked out and the unit sounds great - nice clear sound - I do like not having a belt pack with a wire that can get snagged or caught when moving around a stage or club, so this is a welcome change.
Ease of Use
Easy to use and adjustable.
Quality
Buy a case (I would suggest this for anything electronic that gets transported to and from gigs).
Value
Couldn't ask for more for the price - this unit is what I needed!

Ease of Use
this product does not come with a hard plastic bag to protect the microphone. The finish is a little cheap
