Sound
I ought the original version about 5 years ago and loved it from the very begining. The only reason I didn't rate it highter was it's kind of easy to loose the little rubber gasket that goes between the capsule and the mic but wrote to Samson and got 2 replacements with no problem. I use it on a Beta 57 or Beta 58 and it's great! Nice part about it is I can put it on a cheaper mic (including th Q7 supplied) when someone else is using it (usually Karaoke) and don't worry about it. The Q7 mic is not very good but I can use it as backup mic or if a kid is singing and they are not carefull, not much lost if they mess it up. It's so nice to be able to swith between mics for 1 system! I did get a little noise from handling the mic but not that much as I know how to handle a mic. Usually use mine on stand anyway (drummer) but also use it handheld when I DJ. This is well worth it!

Only reason a 9 is because of the Qy mic!

I bought this wireless mic system for an upcoming gig where I needed to let various people use the mic. It was a "Blemished" special zZounds offered for about half-price. I think the box had been opened but it looked brand-new in all respects. I bought it specifically because it came with its own mic transmitter plus a Q7 mic as a package deal. I figured if the mic didn't work very well I could use one of mine but it worked fine when handed around stage with various people making announcements. I had to turn the squelch all the way up at a recent gig since the receiver seemed to be picking up noise but the signal range was still fine as far away as 25 feet or perhaps more. I like the bar-graph displays for both audio level and also RF signal - a good check to make sure things are working. All in all a good purchase. I gave it 2.5 stars for Manufacturer Support because "not applicable" wasn't available. I also gave it 2.5 starts for "The Wow Factor" because it didn't do anything other than what I expected it to do. As I titled this review: Works As Advertised. I hope that doesn't sound like I'm being stingy with praise.

I recently purchased your airline 77 hand held wireless system about 6 mos ago. The wireless is flawless however the q7 mic that comes with the system sounds great but is not built very rugged...one drop broke the PLASTIC nest where the capsule rests...poor design and I want to know about getting the mic replaced...I will never buy Samson mics again...it has been replaced with am Sm58.
