This Piano, I have a hard time calling it just a "piano", This is more of a computerized piano center, with a very, very excellent keyboard. The feel is very like a really old grand piano, i am talking about the ebony and ivory feel, the real thing without using illegal materials. I love the "layering" of pianos for live performances. The best thing about it ? it is fun, fun, fun, trust me, if you buy it, you will play it a lot.

"Still the best stage piano"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I've already used this keyboard in several situations past few weeks - jazz trio, solo and recording - mostly piano work. Has been exceptionally perfect for everything so far. The PHAIV action and feel are incredible to touch. Many nice stage pianos came out recently, but the Roland RD800 is specifically designed and crafted for the most demanding professions. No compromises with this outstanding instrument.

Nice improvement to the the RD700NX in sound, editing, action, and style. Some of the acoustic and electric piano sounds are among the best I've heard in stage piano. The action is simply amazing. Very authentic and extremely playable. The editing functionality is fantastic and easy to use. Too much to list what I like about it. Simply top quality and professional from end to end. Tough choices out there to choose from Kawai, Nord Yam, Kurz are all sweet at the top end. I believe the RD800 will impress the most demanding professionals in the studio or the stage as it does for me.

I played the Nord Stage 2 , CP4, Kawai MP10, Roland RD700NX. Im not saying their not great, but the RD800 is truly amazing. It's just the RD800 takes it to that one step above. It's all about how you can edit and create the perfect sound you need. RD800 allows you to do so very easily. Amazing stage piano in every way, solid , well made product that will not disappoint. Worth every penny.
