I eventually will replace it with the latest & greatest! I'm hoping to get 5 to 10 out of it!
Sound
I've had the PM-30 for about a year now. All in all I think it was a great buy. My main use is to have some control over my monitor. Overall sound is great for small or large venues. A little weak out doors.
Features
I tried to use the satellite speakers but they are not loud enough to hear if you're playing an acoustic kit. They might work great for an electronic set but are of no use to me, (unless you count the fact I use them on my home theater system). I stopped using them & now primarily use the headphone jack for my Westone in ear monitors. I would highly recommend that if you can get a good monitor mix, to use headphones or in-ears. Better for stage volume anyway.
Ease of Use
I like the 3 different inputs, (one with RCA). I use it with a Roland SPD-20 with four external drum pads. I use 1 channel for the SPD-20, one for a monitor return & the 3rd for my computer, (for practice) and sometimes a click track. It has a real deep punch & low end. Put your drum effects in one channel & your music player in another, and with or without in-ears, mix it to sound really good. EQ works great!
Quality
It's held together a year with moderate use. I would suggest a cover for it while transporting. Wheels are cheap but are still turning and the knobs on the amp are a little cheap, but still work. Don't forget to blow out the drumstick sawdust off the sub once in a while! lol
Value
If you have the cash, it's worth it. You have more control of what you hear & can mix up to 3 inputs + the 3 band EQ.!
Manufacturer Support
Best,,,, because I haven't needed any!

This is it!! If you own the v-drums and want to pair it up with a decent amplifier and speaker system, this is it... after all, it was designed for the v-drums, what else can you ask for?
Sound
I know I am the first one to have shipped the Roland PM30 from Japan for my TD20 V-drums into Singapore and possibly the only one who owns it right now in this country. The sound is crisp and clear, the dispersion is first class mainly cos of the satellite speakers delivring the full stereo and distinguish the different playing sounds from both the v-drums and the music I pump in from an iPod shuffle... the sub-woofer sits behind me and adds the wholesome sound to complete the experience. I could just sit on my drum throne and just listen to my mp3 songs playing thru this great amp!
Features
The castor wheels are really necessary for a heavy amp/sub woofer module and the mounting poles and clamps for the satellite speakers allow creativity and gives the v-drums that extra sophisticated look. However, I hate the connecting cables dangling all over the place and you have to connect the 2 satellites to the amp module and you can imagine the cables all over the floor... wish something could be done, otherwise everything else is OK, enough channels on the amp to be used.. one thing though.. mine's made in China it says on the box and the feel of the knobs are a very low-cost feel, different from the Roland amps that are manufactured in the USA. For the hefty price, one would expect more solid material rather than cheap feeling ones.
Ease of Use
Plug n play... all the knobs are easily accessed and the description clear. But like I mentioned, the cables that need to be connected into the back of the amp is cumbersome.. also, the carry bar seems to be a little bit in the way for the cables to sit properly... otherwise, cool...
Quality
Covered quality above... could be better.. somehow the front panel with the knobs looks a little toyish... not professional feel like other Roland amps I am used to...
Value
As mentioned, pricey... but the sound makes up for it...
Manufacturer Support
Don't know yet... based in Singapore, if anything goes wrong with this set, I guess it has to be shipped to Japan.
The Wow Factor
It looks like a cool dude with the v-drums... and it gives me a very private experience sitting in the midst of the sound that goes all around you... and having a stereo effect on the v-drums gets the instrument sounds coming from the right places... high hat from the left and floor toms from the right...
