Overall I would give it a 9 and that's because you can only add 1 SRX Expansion Card and you have to purchase a Compaq card Adapter in order to insert it in the system memory card slot. Other than that, it's a steal for the money you paid for. The sounds are great and even the user memory can store songs without the card. Get this even on or not on a budget!!
Sound
I just bought this board a week ago and so far it's the best. The sounds are great and perfect for al styles. It also comes with great sound effects out the box. I am in no rush to buy expansions because it is satisfying me right now. The biggest thing would be the drums. The 808 are a little weak, but will do.
Features
Great features, really slick design and so comfortable to use. You can connect via USB to your computer and use editing features as well. I love the fact that everything is in the unit, no need to add external equip just to make a song.
Ease of Use
I think it's the easiest board to use, everything is cut dry and to the point. I created a full song right out the box with without the manual. It actually comes with a quick start full color manual that will have you up and creating in minutes. if you can read you will create.
Quality
So far this thing is a beast! Great feel and I love that it is so portable. Well it's built pretty solid. The keys are your typical Roland standards.
Value
This thing is definately worth the price! It's a true creating machine for all genre's for music. It also comes with Sonar Software for added creativity.
Manufacturer Support
No Comment. No need so far!
The Wow Factor
The design is smooth and looks powerful. It's compaq and looks like a serious unit. All the features are right in front of you, great!

"An absolute icon, but..."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Could never regret buying this, for value and sex appeal, however my screen broke, and that's a real let down.
Sound
This is a genuine raw synth tone generator, you can model any sound you want using up to 4 tones. There is all the modulation LFO etc. Also the on board sounds are amongst the best in the world, the presets are enough to get you going straight away.
Features
Comes with Sonar-LE for full music studio hook up. On board sequencer with 16 track midi and 4 track audio means you don't even need a PC to produce.
Ease of Use
There's a learning curve, because it's real. Or you can just enjoy the basics.
Quality
Not plastic casing, so feels like a real piece of gear - probably because it is :)
Value
Can't beat this for price, similar 'pro' systems cost 4 times as much.
Manufacturer Support
If you're in warranty you're ok, and the website has user manuals and PDF workbooks. But if you have other issues, you won't see Roland for dust.
The Wow Factor
This would be 10 because I am in love with it, however if you get a bad screen, (a lot of people need to replace them often) it can realy ruin the affair.

Roland JUNO-G 61-Key Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Very satisfied overall. I, for one, wish I'd spent the money on the fantom though. The juno-g is still just a toy compared to the fantom series! Even if I do buy a fantom, I'm not looking forward to learning how to use my keyboard all over again or worrying about transferring all my custom patches, performances, and sequences. Still, the juno-g is alot of fun and great overall...!
Sound
Sound is very good. However, even though it's "based on the fantom sound engine" you'd be fooling yourself if you think it sounds as good as the fantom - which simply blows the juno-g away. (albeit the fantom is at least 2x the price..!)
Features
Amazing features for the price...! Note that the keyboard is not fully functional until you add 512MB of ram (without it you can't record more than 30 seconds of audio) and a PC card adapter/compact flash card (which let's you save all your sequences, patches, and performances and makes it easy to move files to and from your PC) If you're a smart shopper, you can probably do all of this for about $100. Note that saving and loading audio to the CF is frigin' slow! It takes almost a minute just to load about 40 seconds of loops. It takes well over 15 minutes to load a full 4 minute song with a full 3-4 tracks of audio. You'll learn very quickly NOT to try to do this live in the middle of a set :)
Ease of Use
A bit overwhelming at first but now that I'm used to it I fly though all the menus and buttons...
Quality
Awesome.. metal
Value
You won't find a keyboard in this price range that does anywhere near what this one does.
Manufacturer Support
never needed to call
The Wow Factor

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I'm looking at a long-term romance with the Juno-G. This one's a keeper.
Sound
The sound engine on the Juno-G is simply top notch. One would expect more of the typical pinky, vacuous sounds found on lower end keyboards when purchasing something in the Juno-G's price range, however this is not the case. The Wurly's, Rhodes, Hammonds are fantastic for playing classic rock covers, Texas Blues and the ability to modify these sounds to specific needs is awesome. If there is a downside, it's that there are SO many sounds that it will take you two weeks to get to know them (but it's fun getting there). One note: The classic mini-moog is not quite there in the presets and needs some tweaking. Once you get the hang of it, the synths are all there for your partaking though. Just takes some work and a good ear. If you play a lot of 80's ballads, you might be in trouble though. Those big 80's sounds aren't in the preset library.
Features
They keyboard itself is solid and feels sturdy. I would highly recommend getting a gig bag or travel case though for easy transport. Also, save yourself some frustration and buy the 512MB DIMM, 1GB flash memory and adapter up front so you can realize all the sampling features right away. I also highly recommend purchasing 2 Roland DX series foot pedals - one for sustain and one for control. There are so many features that your fingers are wasting time holding keys down just for sustain. Free them up!
Ease of Use
I migrated up from a vintage Ensoniq VFX, which is a heck of a detailed keyboard in terms of editing. However, I have found that the learning curve on the Juno-G is about as steep. Read the owners manual and take it step by step. Once you get the hang of it, the rewards are incredible, as this keyboard has an immense range of possibilities.
Quality
Much more solid than I would have imagined for 13 pounds! Based on other reviews, I am concerned about the LCD screen, but a gig bag or travel case and TLC should prevent against that. This is one of 4 keyboards I use for performing and it is quickly becoming my go-to station based on the sound quality.
Value
I would have paid nearly twice as much for this unit. Probably the best bang for my musical buck as I've ever seen.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't dealt with them for the Juno-G, but Roland is an awesome organization.
The Wow Factor
Even a novice can put together solid audio tracks on the Juno-G. One of these and a wannabe Britney and you're cranking out tomorrows pop tunes in mnutes. For the experienced musician, it's got everything you need and more for an economy price. The recording format is actually better than the digital studio that I own!

"A Good synth at a good price"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
I find a lot of patches extemely good and expressive, and I could make my own patches using the Juno G Sound Editor. I could create very rich Strings sounds,Bells etc. But At the same time its sad to say that a few patches like Soprano Sax, is not at all expressive. Guitar sounds are better than that of many of the other synths.
Features
Live setting is one of the best feature of this synth.
Ease of Use
It is very easy to create using the juno G Editor.I could create an Indian Instrument Veena which I could not do in many other synths. Drum Sound Editing is also very easy and they are good.
Quality
It has a rigid body. But The large display sometimes blurrs.

"Good features, bad reliability."

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If it wasn't plagued by that horrid screen failure, It would get a 8.
Sound
Sound is decent/average. The MO6 has better sounds.
Features
Has more features than competition, firmware 2.0 allows sampling.
Quality
Check the Roland forums, they're littered with bugs and SCREEN FAILURES.
Value
Good value for the money, aside from the problems.
Manufacturer Support
Some people claim to have had their screens fixed for free. Others have had to pay full repair costs. It seems there isn't a set guide line for this COMMON issue. All depends on your mood and the customer service rep's mood.

"Dangerously armed & affordable sounding machine!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
well until there is something new and better!I will continue enjoying this board!
Sound
Superb sounding machine Amazing sound pallette from analogue emulation to digital roland style patches!I am a fan of real rhodes that obviously i will never own but the preset e.piano patches are very good except that i wanted to ear all the nuances produced by a real rhodes piano...release friction, low fat distorted bottom ends but anyways i guess those srx might help! Its good tough in general!phaser electric piano is very popular on every brand synthesizer!
Features
I am a firm believer of controllers as much as possible and i like the usuall ones such as pedals, the quick sound modify section! the front panel look very busy and that retro look appeal to me very much!the programmable d-beam its a nice welcome option but i missed the sliders to control at least your tones for example their level!?
Ease of Use
You will not know this keyboard in one day but in a way its easier than any competition thanks to its very large display...Hey Roland what about a help button with examples??!!!
Quality
So far its a very good solid board its not plastic its metal! My business depend on it its my only workstation and its being doing wonders to others I would be very mad if it would start to act up on me!!....So far so very good!!
Value
Definetly the price is right! I dreamed about fantom x!But came right to reality could'nt afford it even the fantom xa i was just too poor for fantom x.But thank God something with the brain of a fantom x was very affordable made my day!
Manufacturer Support
i haven't had any issue with this board nor i ever had a chance to sit down with Roland to have a coffee time waiting for an upgrade either!
The Wow Factor
I have to admit the front panel have this look of the very old juno 106 from far!Its the fact that all these color buttons schemmes remind me of the hi-tech stuff of the 80s!Beside having the new wave of color such as silver gray workstation keyboard its good to go back in time once in a while! So i like it very much like that!

Sound
Great range of sounds.. some as said above are kinda uselss but same with any workstation .. synth sounds are amazing and fantastic for gigs through a marshall mini stack.
Features
Little overwhelming to get used to how much this piece of kit can do for such a low price...but overall the features all come in sue at some point sooner or later so perfect!
Ease of Use
Not easy for first time user but after a lil bit of getting used to its in there for good!
Quality
indestructible! lol although this is my second one i had the above screen problems with the first one very early and have had it replaced with ease had the second one for a while now and no faults whatsoever ive even dropped this one out the van!
Value
for itsd price by far the best!
Manufacturer Support

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I'll have this beast for a long time....
Sound
It has a good amount of sounds, some not very useful though. The Acoustic Pianos and electrics are great! The organs are ok, but they are lacking a nice simple classic rock organ, but its all good. The synths are cool, Drums are awesome! But the best sounds are the Clavinets!! FAWNKAY!!
Features
wow, SOOO many features for the price range its at! you cant go wrong with one of these beasts! TONS features to come across!
Ease of Use
its not very easy to use at first, its a little overwhelming, but i think once you get the hang of it, its pretty straight forward.
Quality
METAL!! very durable and extremely light weight so its great for the gig! 13 pounds.
Value
AWESOME!! best keyboard in its price range for sure!
Manufacturer Support
have not yet needed it and probably won't need it at all.
The Wow Factor
Cool look, takes after the roland juno 106, not the most sexy machine though...
