"Exactly What I Needed"

I have had the PreSonus E66 monitors for a while and struggled heavily with getting the low end right in my mixes. This sub filled in that gap perfectly. I spent about 15 minutes getting the levels close which other than having to get behind it to adjust was easy. After a week of listening to music I am familiar with and making subtle crossover and level adjustments, it has settled in and my mixes are translating so much better already. The sub bypass foot switch included was nice and gets used a lot.

"Grill was hanging by a rubber gasket when I took it out of the box"

Ended up pulling the gasket out of the grove it fit in. Simple to replace it around the wire-mesh grill. Pushed it back in and hooked everything up. Gain was set to -30db when I turned it on so no bass whatsoever coming out of it. Turned it up a little bit and seems to be working as expected. Bass sounds great. Footswitch works well and will come in handy. Set the cutover to ON and the amount at 80hz. I have a small room so I didn't have to crank up the gain hardly at all.. at halfway (0db) it was shaking the windows. If you're like me, you do a lot of review checking and have seen the ones complaining about this thing dying and how much it costs to ship it to get repaired. So I thought I'd confirm that build quality could be an issue. I opened a ticket (no phone support for speakers) with Presonus detailing what happened and what I did to remedy the situation looking for an answer as to whether there was "supposed" to be some kind of adhesive holding this thing in place and whether they think my solution is going to last. I'll update my review based on their response. Overall, great features and price for a sub. Sounds great for now. Time will tell if it lasts or if I get the shipping blues trying to get it fixed.
Sound
Sounds fantastic so far. Time will tell if it holds up.
Features
Frequency Cutover and the included bypass footswitch are great. Great coverage of inputs/outputs
Ease of Use
Fairly simple... hook it up, dial in the amount of gain you need for your space and set the cutover frequency knob.
Quality
As stated... not too impressed so far. I had concerns reading some of the reviews out there that build quality was an issue. They seem to be valid seeing as the grill was hanging by a piece of rubber when I took it out of the box.
Value
As long as it holds up... great value. Sounds really great for what it costs. Just hope it lasts.
Manufacturer Support
I'll let you know. Haven't heard back from them yet.
The Wow Factor
Wow factor got dropped to 1 when I took it out of the box and had the grill dangling in front of me like some kind of quality control gremlin had tried to make a break for it....

Have this with a pair of E8s and it came set at unity then I had to dial it down to 9 o'clock because it got real and really quick! It is accurate and loud and the footswitch is a godsend. Didn't rate manufacturer because haven't had to use them.
