These e8 are cool. I'm glad I got e8 instead of e5. Not enough information on e5 lower register, but that goes for all 5 inchers. I'm glad I didn't go hs8 because I use this e8 for pleasure listening. The control adjustments really do work great, and you can neutral these out as to remove all warmth from them. I use 1 speaker, mono, hooked up to a turntable with a goldring elan, nothing fancy smanchy, thru a bellari pa550 preamp, very quiet by the way, which has eq control knobs, bass and treble, no receiver. Between the pa550's eq and the adjustment controls of the e8's I can dial in pretty much what I need. I went studio monitor because I like to hear the mix and not a manufacturers idea of what music should sound like. I have a zoom recorder, so I have the best of both worlds because I can go neutral with this speaker. 150 vs 350, I'm glad I tried it. It's worth considering.

I have now had 2 of these monitors and the matching 10" sub for years. Don't go less and don't go more. If you play live than yea these won't work given that they are active but for the house they are more than perfect. You don't need the sub but getting one will complete the experience. 900 bucks for 2 monitors and a matching sub is very cost effective. Just put them all on a play as you pay through zZounds and you are good to go.

I just recently purchased a pair of E8s with a Temblor T10 connected with Mogami and this setup is what I needed. Flat sounding with plenty of power to go loud. Money well spent. Didn't rate the manufacturer because i haven't had to use them.

I just recieved my eries 8 monitors from zzounds.com, fast shipping. First thing I noticed taking tem out of the box is the build quality. They are sturdy and seem to ne pretty strong monitors. I hooked up the monitors to hear how they sound and I can say , these monitors are flat in frequency. I can realy tell recording wit tjese monitors is going to be nice. Listening to music downloads from my cell phone, not the best music source, and the music is still flat, I can hear all the mistakes in every mix I listen to. I almost said, these speakers sound terrorble, bit I had to remember the monitors only play whats in the mix. I have listened to my down loades on my cell phone on many other systems but these monitors realy let you know wjats going on in the mix no coloring of the music at all, very very good monitors.

I will keep this short and sweet. Play n pay + these monitors = perfect deal. Ultra fast shipping, easy to install, remote volume control comes into use especially if you have intentions on purchasing an interface without a separate monitor mix from headphone control. Quality is superb for $400. Mixing pop/classic rock/hip hop. I only gave 3 stars for manufacturer support due to my last experience with presonus. Still haven't forgiven them :-P if you are having any doubts about this product, don't. I've used multi million dollar equipment and free giveaway equipment and these are a real steal for the at home and semi professional studio producer.

"Great Monitors"

I play ambient and industrial music and wanted monitors to replace my KRK5s so that I can hear more low end in my mix without resorting buying a sub or spending a whole lot of money. These speakers were just what I was looking for. They are large and I struggled to get them on my desk but I was able to place them horizontally per the manual's instructions. I'm very happy to have gotten them. I had to rate the manufacturer response as low due to my experience in the past for other issues but the monitors themselves are great. I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping I don't have to contact Presonus again.

I'M SATISFIED WITH THE PRESONUS ERIS SERIES E8 MONITOR SPEAKERS I PURCHASED FROM zZOUNDS. THE PRICE WAS FAIR . WITH THAT BEING SAID THEY DIDN'T BLOW ME AWAY LIKE I READ IN MOST OF THE REVIEWS OTHER'S POSTED ? JUST MY OPINION . THEY SOUND GOOD ( NOT GREAT ). THE TOTAL 140 WATTS EACH SPEAKER ( 75 W LOW/ 65 W HIGH.) BOTH SPEAKERS COMBINED 280 WATTS . I'M JUST NOT HEARING ALL THIS POWER . BUT I REALIZE THEY ARE MONITOR SPEAKERS NOT COMPONENT SYSTEM SPEAKERS . I'VE PLAYING BACK MY MUSIC FROM MY BOSS AND ZOOM RECORDERS ( MOSTLY 8 TRACKS ) THROUGH 8 TENS ( 4 IN EACH CABINET) AND A 400 WATT PA HEAD PUSHING THE SOUND . ALL MY MIXING HAS BEEN THROUGH SONY MDR 7506 HEADPHONES . SO THE POWER COMPARISON IS NOT THERE FOR ME . BUT USING THE ERIS 8's, I FOUND I DON'T HAVE USE THE HEADPHONE'S NOW . I PLAY ALL MY MUSIC USING THE ERIS 8's TO MONITOR ALL MY TRACKS . THEN I PLAY THEM BACK THROUGH THE 8 TENS . WORKS FOR ME .
