"The Best Mixer I've ever owned!!"

This is the best mixer I've ever owned (and I've had quite a few). After Over 20 years of DJ'ing, this mixer along with Serato DJ and an old pair of Technics 1200 turntables makes me remember the days of carrying milk crates from venue to venue without the back breaking part! I also love that it eliminates the need for the Serato scratch hub and the extra cables to hook it up. Just plug the USB into your computer, plug your turntable or cd player RCA's, and you're ready to play! It has all the bells and whistles I need for any situation but I only wish there was a censor button on it like some of the other pioneer controller decks. Pioneer quality is there as well. It's pretty heavy, and it feels like it's built to last. I am absolutely loving this mixer!!

If you're looking to get into turntablism, scratching, juggling, and over all rippin' on the decks, look no further than the the Pioneer DJM S9. This thing is a beast. I can cut up some hip hop, then thrown on some tech house and break beats and this mixer covers it all. I've had it 3 weeks, and I'm still only scratching the surface with what this bad boy can do.And with zZounds helping me out with 12 easy payments, and sending me the mixer after the first payment w/ 2 day shipping???? C'monnn. Get it already ! You know you want to.

Unfortunately due to Pioneer's lack luster quality control process I have had to switch out my DJM S9 twice. The third unit seems to be functioning quite well and it's everything I thought it would be. The sound quality is amazing, full of punch and life. The EQ has taken some getting used to...Pioneer has some funky eq envelops. I do wish the overall construction contained more metal and less plastic. The knobs are uneven..cheapish but overall quite solid to use. The effects paddles worry me a bit...some of the reviews by well known DJ's exaggerated the strength of the paddles. They do seem sturdy but I am worried about their longevity after 3-4yrs of heavy usage. They are not easily replaced...but it can be done. I caution all new owners to go over your unit completely and test every single outlet/input don't wait until you can no longer return the unit. If you scratch test the crossfader a couple of hours a day. First S9 Crossfader was uneven and sunk into the mixer. 2nd S9 crossfader would just randomly stop working..Pioneer said it was a resistance issue and to swap. QC issues aside it is a very excellent mixer and the controls are placed in just the right locations. It's so much fun to use and this is coming from a Traktor Z2. (Serato with Denon DS1) user. For the price I'd still take this over the Rane 72 which is overpriced IMO. Especially if you can get a better deal then sticker price.
