"Great Amp!"

The Vypyr 30 amp is a perfect nice amp for me. I have a large full sized 120watt tube amp that rocks, but I wanted something a little smaller for a practice amp. This amp is a perfect fit for my needs. It has plenty of power & many times I don't even turn past 1 on the volume for personal practice. I love all the amp models and the ease of use and I don't need a pedal board to get the sounds I am looking for. The only thing that I wished was included in this amp, is I wished that it had a built in jack for speaker out so I could run into a 4x12 or 2x12 cab, will have local music shop put one in for me. It uses a 8ohm speaker that sounds rather nice, of course its not high end, but does a decent job for my purposes. I really like the tones that I can get out of this amp. Is it like a tube amp or does it sound as good as a tube amp? Simple answer is no, however its one of the best solid state amps that I have ever heard and you can't go wrong with getting one for yourself. Great Value!!!

"Highly recommend the Vypyr 30 modeling amp."

I expect to be satisfied with this trans tube modeling amp product for a long time to come. I would compare this product superior to others I considered and I spent hours playing them all before finally decided on this one.
Sound
Excellent Stomp Box and Effects encoders and they all sound great at High and Low gains. Even played at low gain this amp still retains its presence and punch. No need for tons of foot pedals especially if you get the Sanpera foot controller as I did.
Features
This amp has everything. I added its Sanpera foot controller and it is complete. You can't find a better amp in this category even if you spend three times the money.
Ease of Use
Very easy get great sounds from this amp The interface is intuitive and after working with it for an hour, it was easy is it to edit the sound to taste and save them. In a clean mode even used it with several of my acoustics. It excels with a decent axe. I used it with my Strat and Les Paul and I could get any sound I wanted. There is a slight learning curve but I believe even a beginner can use the preset sounds/effects and be off and running in seconds. The manual is clear and to the point.
Quality
This product has a lot of engineering design thought and built in to it. The product is well made. It came pristine as regards its finish and fit. No cosmetic blemishes. The product has been reliable. It is being used on gigs each week as well as in the studio. The speaker is the same as in the 75 watt model and it can be cranked and speaker produces true tone. A studio set of headphones allows you to us it as a practice amp but if you bring it on gigs you will not be disappointed when you and your audience hear it live.
Value
This product is actually worth more than its selling price and as compared to other modeling amps priced a lot higher.
Manufacturer Support
I have dealt with the manufacturer of this amp for 30 years. This Vypyr 30 is my fourth Peavey I own. Have also bought Keyboard and Bass amps from that manufacturer and never been disappointed. I still have my three earlier Peaveys. I made it a point to speak to their engineers concerning this modeling amp before I purchased it from ZZounds. The manufacturer’s engineers answered all my questions.
The Wow Factor
I do not get into the "sex appeal" of a product. But with all the lights and built-in tuner stomp boxes and effects loops it has a very compelling appeal aesthetically. It is indeed a technical marvel but beyond its practical use it way too cool! It will be a great addition to my gear.

"Amazing amp for such a low price."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I expect to be satisfied with this amp until I either 1: Need a bigger amp or 2: Need something to match my skill as it becomes greater. If this amp was stolen I would replace it with either the same one or an amp that has the same features but more watts.
Sound
The effects on this amp is amazing, but I will say that when you turn that volume knob above 2 you will need to be in a room bigger than the average living room. The sound overall is good but once you change the amp model to anything above XXX you will want to turn the volume down else you want you eardrums volume pusled to death.
Features
This amp is very good when it comes to features, 24 effects, overdrive, clean, 11 different amp models, and programable presets make this amp very good for intermediate to even expert players.
Ease of Use
This rating is lower than the others because of the instruction manuel DVD not playing in any of my DVD players, so I have no clue how to do anything but change the amp model, effect, and the EQ.
Quality
This is a very well made amp, but the back of it is hollow, so those of you looking for an amp that has a back to it beware. That is my only quality complaint. My comment is the very puncture resistant chainmail screen that is in front of the speaker itself, very nice.
Value
I actually got this amp for 50% off the day it was released and that was an amazing deal.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to deal with them yet, knock on wood....
The Wow Factor
The thing that drew me to this amp the most is the led display around the knobs, not the normal number. The chainmail screen in front of the speaker is very nice also.

"Best Solid-State Modeling Amp Period"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
i will be happy with this amp until it either breaks or just stops working
Sound
sound quality is impressive, i was hesitant at first beacause i never really liked modeling amplifiers, but this caught my eye and i tried it out and i was in love. surprisingly it doesn't sound digitalized at all, and with 24 amp models and so many effects you can't really go wrong
Features
24 clean/overdriven/distorted amp models and so many effects! my personal favorite amp model is the Peavey 6505
Ease of Use
Takes a little while to get used to, but trust me, it's worth it!
Quality
Very well made, has been bumped and hit many times (on accident!) has not fallen yet but is very sturdy
Value
very good value, i would probably have paid $50-$100 more for it
Manufacturer Support
Peavey is awesome
The Wow Factor
lots of shiny lights...

"An amp that will take you from the Rock a Billy to Rio your face of Rock and Roll, its an amp for all genres of music, you cant"

I plan on keeping this amp for a long time, unless someone had a rediculous sale on the Vyper 75, them I may consider upgrading to that one, totally satisfied.
Sound
This amp can give you any sound you are looking to get from ana ll aou metal sound to a creamy bluesy sound to a crystal clean sound, Itss like have an entire arsenal of amps all in one, you can use it at band preactice without even having to mike it up, its just thaat damn loud and still doesnt loose its tone.
Features
The inly thing that would have made this product better was if it came with the smaller footswitch, but once you do get it, it doubles the fetures which are already fantastic
Ease of Use
Just follow the mannuel and your off and running, even if you just want to plug in and play, it is pretty user friendly, but the manuel help you find a lot of the hidden features.
Quality
Its a Peavey, I played a Peavey Butcher for 7 years in the 80's and the only thing I ever had to do was change the tubes out every now and then. Peavey's are built like a tank, I havent gigged with it, but I am sure it will stand the ruggedness if the road,
Value
For the price of this amp, it beats the hell out of a lot of the other amps you can waste your money on for that price,
Manufacturer Support
I had a Peavey Transtube head in the late 90's, called Customer service and they directed me to the closest service center to geet it fixed and I had it back with 5 days. Excellent Customer Service.
The Wow Factor
Its a very wicked looking amp and the larger looking footswitch really looks cool. The way the lights illuminats on all the knobs are the icing on the cake.

"Best Amp for Under $1000"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
One of the best amps out there
Sound
This is the best amp that you can get for under $500. It sounds really good and has a bunch of different amp models. I highly recommend it.
Features
The effects on this are so good. It would save about a thousand dollars on foot pedals if you wanted all the effects. And every effect has 2 way to adjust it.
Ease of Use
It may take a bit of time to get used to. The manual is perfect. I had this for a month and read the online manual and learned about 50 new things.
Quality
This will never get broken. Very good durability.
Value
It is 10x better than anything below $500 and is still better than things below $1000. Very good amp
Manufacturer Support
The Peavey website has everything you need on it.
The Wow Factor
Very good looking amp. It has a lot of cool lights.

"Does NOT have USB as stated on zzsounds site..."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'll have to get back to this one...
Sound
Excellent quality sound.
Features
Gets pricey as you need the Sanpera II pedal to do other stuff and the pedal cost just as much as the amp does. Also the 30 watt Vypyr does NOT have a USB as indicated by zzsounds site. That's false information.
Ease of Use
Of course there's a learning curve.. Just like everything else. Peavey could have done better with manual material.
Quality
Seems to be made well and durable. Looks nice, sounds nice, etc...
Value
Like I said, you need to purchase the Sanpera II pedal in order to take full advantage of this amp and that cost the same as the amp itself. I don't know why Peavey doesn't do a package deal for a cheaper price if you purchase both...
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use it yet so that's a good thing.
The Wow Factor
Seems to be made well and durable. Looks nice, sounds nice, etc...
