I've worked with QSC and JBL most of my dj'ing life, and used peavey amps. I recently updated my system with the Pvxp 12's from Peavey. QSC and JBL perform well, and for 600 to 800 a piece why wouldn't they? The trick is finding speakers that sound as good as these, without breaking the bank. Please try these speakers. I've looked at Seismic Audio and Behringer speakers and they sound good, but you can't play every venue with them because of the low wattage. There price point is about 300 to 400 for two speakers. Nice if you are on a budget, but it will bite you later. The seismic Audio's have protruding knobs in the back that with snap off if rubbed up next to something in your car. The behringers are missing bass the further you walk away from them. ZZounds will work with you on a price if you buy two or more. It was way worth the extra cash. These Pvxp's are 800 watts with new horn technology, and bass boom that works in 90% of the venues I work in. If you are playing in a extra large gym you need a subwoofer, but not by much. I don't know why djs aren't looking at these. They also have an expansion bay where I installed the parabolic eq. OMG barely any hiss, with plenty of clean boom boom. I'm telling you do yourself a favor and at least read some info on these speakers, before buying any speakers for your dj system.

These speakers have no punch! I bought them to use over 18"subs using electronic xover .I expected more sound in the vocal range but they peak a bit too easily with HF @ 750.Bass response is less than what you would expect from a 12". Clarity is good, screaming highs! I can't get enough low end to fill the hole between the subs. May be good for very small venues.also I was disapointed that Peavey discontinued the expansion modules so I cant add eq to them unless i buy another piece of equipment.
