Feature:
To me, the least useful feature is the scalloped horn. The tuners are good, but I've had other basses that stayed in tune better. The bridge is top-notch. I like the feel of the neck. For some reason, my BXP came with a 35" scale, not 34". I also like that the fret markers are on the edge of the neck you look at, not on the fretboard.

Quality:
I think it's beautifully made, especially for an instr. in this price range. I'd only take it on the road in a very good case, either hard shell or ATA/Anvil. If it's treated properly, I see no reasson it wouldn't last a very long time. You might end up replacing either the tuners or the frets, if you have it for a REALLY long time.

Desirability:
It's definitely a sexy axe - beautiful wood finish and black hardware. It's got a great shape. Only the useless horn scallop takes away from the overall look, but it's also different enough to get women to ask...8^)

Sound:
Overall, great sound. I think the tone controls could be a bit more responsive; they don't seem to alter the sound much. The tone is full-range, good lows, clear mids, good highs. It does mid to hi best; low is good but could be better for a neck-through. It seems to be more sensitive to high amplification; in studio, it sounds perfect, live at high volumes, it requires more tweaking and EQ'ing to be right and not boomy or tinny.

Ease of Use:
When using live at high volume, you have to adjust your sound very carefully. At normal volumes or in studio, it's very forgiving and has a nice sound. I think it plays nicely, although with such a long scale (mine is 35", not 34") you must finger accurately or you get buzz. If you play properly, it plays nice and sounds great. NOT for players with small hands.

Support:
Never had to deal with it, but I've owned many Peavey products over time and they've always been helpful when needed.

Feature:
Well, my only complaint is I'd like to have more knobs and controls, just so i can get that perfect sound.

Quality:
I disliked the factory strings, but the quality is incredible for the price.

Value:
Wow. This is indeed a Peavey. Cheap yet quality on the highest level.

Desirability:
You know what, I have a thing for the "stripe". Those are rad. And everything else is cool, as well. I like the Peavey headstocks.

Sound:
The sound on this bass is amazing. Active pickups give you great control, then turn on the passive and get some growl. An awesome sounding product, indeed.

Ease of Use:
Easy, easy. Its like using a fork.

Support:
we'll never know.

I think this is my kind of bass ;)

Feature:
Excellent craftsmanship for a bass in this price range. The use of Mahogany, Maple, and Imbuya wood materials coupled with the through-neck design produce a wonderful sound. And the wood on the body is natural, with no stains or laquer finish, so it won't be subjected to scratches or wear over time.

Quality:
For the price it's being offered for, definitely a resounding "10" in terms of quality!

Value:
Definitely worth more than its selling price, but don't tell Peavey that. ;-)

Desirability:
I wouldn't say it has sex appeal (unless you have some kind of kinky fetish for musical instruments), but it definitely has an aesthetic appeal. It's a great-looking bass!

Sound:
Beautiful sound & superb sustain from this bass! And the two passive humbucking pickups provide an impressive amount of control over the tonal output one can get out of this bass.

Support:

Overall:
The Peavey Grind 4 gets very high marks in terms of overall good quality & at a low price. And whether it's going to be your only bass or an addition to your existing collection, whatever your level of experience, it's worth the purchase!

Hey, its a neck through body! I got it cheap but still, it was cheap to begin with for its quality

Desirability:
I have it

Sound:
It has a wonderful twang to it that I never found in a fender or any other. But! One day after getting it my A string was raspy, probably my fault for not checking but still. My G string broke and I restrung it, but not my G string plays like I'm new. Buzzzzzzz

Feature:
The oil finish looks great and I really like the feel. An additional bonus is the balance of this bass. The top horn of the body extends all the way past the twevlth fret. The result is a very light feel from the neck. I haven't seen many neck through basses that I would rather have than this one for less than $1,000. I've even seen some $1,000+ neck throughs that I don't think measure up to this one. On top of the nice feel and quality sound, this bass really is pretty. I wasn't familiar with imbuya would. It is a Brazilian wood that is sometimes referred to as Brazilian walnut because of its similarities with American black walnut. It looks really nice.

Quality:
The fit and finish were excellent. A set of Grover or equivalent tuning machines would be an improvement.

Value:
This bass is probably worth two or three times what it actually sells for if it is judged purely on sound, feel and looks. The negative stereo type of foreign made guitars is the main thing holding it back. So what, Stratevarius wasn't American either, and most violinists seem to like his products.

Desirability:
People who see this bass react very positively. Only bass players who really know their equipment will know that this is an inexpensive modle unless you tell them. The rest of the world doesn't know the difference between a $100 bass and $5,000 bass.

Sound:
I have found this bass to be of a much higher quality than I would expect to find in this price range. Sound is a matter of taste. I find this bass to have the warm sound typical of neck through design. The passive humbuckers do a nice job relative to other passive pickups. They don't replace active pickups, but you don't find basses with Bartolini's in this price range. The only negatives are that it took my instructor about a week to really get this bass dialed in. It sounds great when playing softly or moderately. Really aggressive players will find it to be a bit buzzy.

Feature:
Good for poping. Does not come with instructions for the knobs

Quality:
Looks cool, sounds cool, doesn't fall apart. What else is there?

Value:
Many basses cost easily 5 times this one and look, sound, and feel the same. It will be a good investment.

Desirability:
It has a look that can be considered anything from punk to bluegrass.

Sound:
There's a lot of feeling in the sound. It is incredible for the low price. Jazz, rock, funk, or anything else can be played on this bass. You will not be disapointed.

Support:
I can't say I have dealt with the company, but they are probably chill.

Overall:
It is a very versatile instrument in all fields. Get it.

Feature:
I purchased this bass with the "Free" hardshell case (which actually costed 20.00, not FREE) - but even at that, this is an exceptional value. Neck through design, dual humbuckers, string through and simple passive electronics are the main features of this bass. If there were anything at all I would change about my NTB 4, it would have to be better quality control knobs/pots, but my biggest gripe is the finish on mine!

Quality:
This is where things get a little rough. Overall, the build quality of the instrument was less than expected, but not horrible, and definitely nothing I can't live with. The fretwork had a few burrs, but were easily fixed. The main gripe is that I was expecting a higher quality finish than what I got. Compaired to all the other examples i've seen, my NTB 4 has NO distinguishable grain or pattern. Extremely plain compaired to the pictures!!! - I think mine may be a fluke though... every other one I have seen has much nicer wood grain.

Value:
problems aside, this bass is one of the best values out there for a neck-through instrument.

Desirability:
The sex appeal of the NTB is strong, and all the pictures that are available of the NTB makes your mouth water... BUT BE CAREFUL. I bought mine without seeing it first. I thought I would get something close to the pictures i've seen.... I thought...

Sound:
The tone is warm and fat, but it is kinda limited. If your amp has an EQ onboard, or if you have an EQ pedal, this should not be an issue. The passive electronics are noiseless so far, but I did notice some shoddy volume knobs. Does it have an expressive sound?? Well, that all depends on your playing style, but yes, it does respond differently to different playing styles. Compared to my other bass, (an active Ibanez SRX), the NTB can hold it's own but like I said, it is somewhat limited. So far i've run it straight into my Behringer BX1200, as well as through a Digitech BP200. Sounds really good through either.

Support:
So far, the only encounter with support that i've had is through the Peavey user forum. Mon-Friday, they seem to be on top of things and get you an answer fairly quick. The only "Need" i've had so far in support was with dealing with the wood finish of my particular bass. Nothing mechanical.

Overall:
Even with the finish being the way it is, the fretwork, crackly knobs... If I sat here and nit-picked it to death, I would still keep it I think (Unless I could get a free replacement with a nicer finish) All in all, it's a good instrument for the money.
