"Passport 2000 is THE passport to quality audio in small rooms and rehearsals with quick and easy setups."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Problably for a few years. This PA is going to (and already has been) used for a monthy meeting that has live music and speakers. I will also use this for rehearsals with a small 3 piece band.
Sound
Clear highs and impressive low ends. FLS is some of the best features that Peavey has put into most of their systems.
Features
Feedback Limiting System, PVi mike, and all-in-one suitcase, interlocking package! .
Quality
Excellent, rugged construction and ease of transport with the two rollerblade type of wheels.
Value
For the money this PA is one of the best in it's class. Definately beats the Fender Passport 150's. Now, if Peavey only made and 250 watt system...
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with them... products always worked good as long as I've owned them.
The Wow Factor
Would like to see the PA "head" be more easily removed, it's held down with several screws into the plastic case. I would also like to see the speaker stands go a few more inches higher, they are about 4.5 feet high. They are the right height for a seated audience and if you were on a stage, would be high enough for a standing one. The mic and speaker cables could be 5 more feet longer as well, just a hair short. Still over all will work in most settings.

"Amazing for the price"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I've been using this system for about 5 years and it is fantastic. Compact, easy to set up, even has wheels on the bottom. Only thing I don't care for is the location of the plugs on the speakers. There are 1/4 inch jacks located on the front at the base of the speakers, wish they were either on the bottom or the back, but no big deal.. For the money you can't beat these...

"Escort PV"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I bought mine in 2000. So 21 years later, it sounds great. About 10 years ago, I thought I was having an issue with it, and PV support worked me through it and offered to have it shipped to them to check out. You can’t ask for more. I’m thinking of buying a second one just in case it eventually tires out!!

Sound
i own an escort 2000 i have had it for about 2 years now. as far a sound quality unbeatable for its size. extremely clear and talk about alot of power comming from 2 small speakers
Features
i find the most useful features is its patented FLS system i have never had a feedback problem and i have plugged several microphones and guitars into it for small gatherings and band practices
Ease of Use
its extremely portable wow it easily fits in the trunk or your car. its lightweight and the manuel when you get it tells you what to do as far as how to get the best sound out of it
Quality
as for quality i had an experience with mine when i first started djing i used the escort 2000 as monitors by linking it to my big mixer. well i went away from the table for a second and some drunk guy spilled his beer all over the system. amazingly enough. it was so durable that all it needed was a cleaning nothing else..didnt short out any of the components.. whats are the odds? talk about quality
Manufacturer Support
i havent had to call the company the cleaning that as done was done locally

"Compact...adequate sound quality for what I use it for...but a little heavy...quality stuff always is"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
If I had the misfortune to have mine stolen I wouldn't consider any other product to replace it with
Sound
I use mine for doing pub quizzes for which it is more than adequate...I also have a musical element to the evening but if I do an exclusively musical presentation I have a monster sytem with which this Peavey can't compete. BUT if I use my big system it entails an awful lot of back breaking lugging around...I'm considering stopping the DJ'ing side of things so the Peavey will do the job admirably...Anybody considering purchashing a Peavey shouldn't hesitate..it's good value for the money and can be set up in 4 or 5 minutes.
Features
The most useful thing about the product is the number of input combinations it offers.
Quality
The beauty of this system is the compactness and the element of being self-contained...all the system plus the accessories can be stored in the admittedly heavy(but manageable)weight of the whole thing...If it was any lighter it wouldn't have the same sound quality
Value
Good value for the money and consider it to be fairly priced
Manufacturer Support
Had no need to contact....Not had any problems
The Wow Factor
Don't buy things for their *sexiness*....functionality does the trick for me

"Big Sound on a Budget"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
The Peavey Escort portable PA system is extremely portable and very loud for 150 watts. With the FLS Feed back detection system the loudness is also very clean when cranked up.
Sound
The FLS Feed back detection system is really wonderful, you can really crank up the loudness with out distorting the signal. I use this for an outdoor event called Art in the Park, and its perfect for announcements and a small singer song writer type performances.
Features
The best feature is its powered mixer with reverb and EQ. The reverb can be set separately for each mic/line channel. Which is really handy with the guitarist wants more reverb and the singer wants less. The powered mixer allows you set the lows and highs independently per channel Though I wish you could set the mid-levels, the 5 band equalizer makes up for that deficiency. This next thing has nothing to do with amplification, but I love the luggage style wheels!!! I have a bad back, and moving this PA system around is a breeze with the wheels.
Ease of Use
Just read the FLS feed back detection system instructions, and you'll always get great sound out of this little package. Other than that, its a simple plug and play system that's a breeze to setup. One problem I do have is trying to get the stands back into the kit when packing up. Peavey designers left us very little room for packing up. So pay close attention to how the stands are factory packed into the kit before you unpack it.
Quality
This baby's bullet proof! Well, maybe not! However, it is made of very durable hard plastic, and the amp speakers are protected by a metal mesh. The microphone that came with the kit is kind of cheap, but hey, it works and it makes a nice backup mic. I do wish the speaker cables were shielded, but I've never has a reason to switch them out.
Value
When I bought this system, I thought I wanted so much more, but this was all I could afford. As it turned out, it was all I needed.
Manufacturer Support
Never had a reason to use them... The system works great.
The Wow Factor
Its not very sexy... So give up your Rock God dreams with this little 150 watt portable system. However, if your a singer song writer or public speaker and you want a system that's great for small venues, bars, social events and fundraisers. This system is perfect. Since its only 150 watts, you never have to worry about popping a circuit when you plug in.

Value
Excellent value for the money.

"Definitely best in its class"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
When this unit gives out, I will definitely be looking at purchasing another.
Sound
When this unit was first released in the market seven years ago (when I bought mine) it was announced that it was designed for acoustic musicians who had to provide their own rigs for small venues such as coffeehouses, small clubs, small churches. With that announced intention for the product, Peavey delivered everything it promised. I've used mine in churches for revivals, small coffeehouse gigs, and musical programs at a local nursing home.
Features
I compare this to similar products in this field by Fender, Yamaha, and Kustom. This is the best. None of the others offer much in the way of EQ in this price range. All the Fender Passport offers in this price range is a glorified tone control--not true EQ. Although Yamaha offers two-band EQ per channel, it does not offer any master EQ. In addition, the Peavey is much easier to transport that the Passport 250. I should know because I owned a Passport 250 for three years before trading it for the Peavey Escort. The wheels on the Escort make moving it from den to car to gig and back much easier on the back and shoulders. The speaker stands, while not the sturdiest, have been adequate. The Pvi microphone which comes standard, easily sounds better than the P-51 microphones Fender provides with its Passport systems. I upgraded to the PVi2 microphones which really brings out the sound.
Ease of Use
This is easy to set up and take apart for transport. While the manual provided is helpful, operation is very intuitive. Peavey's proprietary Feedback Locator System makes it easy to tweak the EQ to eliminate any feedback.
Quality
I've used Peavey products for over thirty years--my first sound reinforcement system was a small Peavey. Their products have a well-earned reputation for being built for road use and this does not disappoint. The quality of the case is top-notch. Once I dropped it while moving it from the house to my vehicle on the way to a gig. I had visions of having to replace it--but when I set it up and plugged it in--it was, as my pilot friends say, "three in the green." For further proof of its quality--I've had it for seven years now and it's still providing great performance.
Value
This is definitely worth the price compared to comparable units from other manufacturers.
Manufacturer Support
While I've never had to use warranty service on this unit. I only had one occasion to use warranty service on the Peavey I owned in college. It was more of a cosmetic issue (the plastic logo on one of the speakers broke off), but when I called Peavey to see about ordering a replacement and offered to pay for it (the warranty had expired), Peavey's service dept just laughed, told me to save my money for college and shipped me one for free.
The Wow Factor
While I would not say this has sex appeal, I would say this is the definite solution for an acoustic soloist, duo, or trio who need a portable sound system available when a smaller venue might not have one.
