i chose it based on musical knowledge-months of research-if it got stolen would i replace it, sure as a heart-attack!! i expect years of pleasure from this excellent amplifier. difinately enhanced my playing-made difficult things easier.
Sound
i just purchased this amp days ago-killer!!!!!!!! read other reviews about limited uses; i played it for at least 40 hrs. already, every different style, even ones i don't like-right on the money!! very good clean, gain for ever, primal distortation-very little hiss with high gain& volume on 7-i like it!! already have a hughes&kettner swithblade-love it-insane about the 6505!! people say it has weak reverb-it has the best, spring reverb-true analog. if your a player, not a poser, can"t figure out why you would even have 1 bad thing to say about this beast. 1 last thing , no on-board effects except spring reverb-i prefer it that way! seperates the men from the boys. overall i give it a 10+ for its price range!!
Features
all it comes with is a footswitch-like it that way-if i want delay, phase, or flanger, i already have that gear-i do wish it came with a cover!! warning for the frail-this amp is built like the hulk-very heavy to move around!!
Ease of Use
took me about a 1/2 hr. to really dial in my tone-not bad at all-manual short&to the point-effortless harmonic squeals, if you"re into it, i am.did use any pedals with it yet-still just want to hear the rich natural distortation, blazing leads!!
Quality
i think i would have to take a sledge-hammer too it to try to hurt it; probly even then would not damage it-like i said-built like the hulk-true beast in every sense. have not owned it long but i know the only maintenence i"ll be doing is changing tubes once & a while & wipe it down when done crushing everything trying to compete with me.
Value
of course everybody would like it to be priced cheaper-but if it keeps up like i think it will, money well spent!!
Manufacturer Support
called them the first day because i heard rattling inside-that when i found out it has a reverb tank, the springs vibrate when you tilt it or move it-totally normal-they were very friendly and knowledgeable.
The Wow Factor
the only thing i find sexey is women-its looks are pretty basic, but its far from a basic amp. it will be used every weekend for shows!
