While I didn't buy , mine from zZounds, I will say this is a great snare drums for $99 compared to the 5" Ludwig #400. I've had 2 #400's in the early 80's and mid 90's and sold them off. I went electronic for a long time . I later found my Pearl Sensi in a pawn shop and use it now in a project. I put on an attack clear head and put strips of clear 2" wide packing tape in the center ( to be like a CS dot head) and tuned it low. With an old carvin cm67 I'm getting a nice fat sound on my TASCAM DP-02.I haven't cranked the head yet ,like the Police's drummer does. So we'll see on that. The snare response is superior to the Lud's . for whatever reason. This is a great value for the $$$. It makes good rim clicks too.
