It comes pristine and setup right out of the included gig bag. Just feels right in your hands and in your lap ( that's what she said yeah, yeah). I would recommend this guitar to anyone who wants an American made work of art, that will provide classic Strat and Tele tones, with unique richness and PRS style.
Sound
Playing through a 1x12 tube amp, using a couple drive/fuzz pedals and a delay, the sound is unreal. I am able to get anything from spot on vintage David Gilmour to SRV tones and everything in between and after. Really an all-in-one sound machine capable of anything from vintage blues to modern metal. I will say it is a bit darker but near to the middle position on a Strat yet more Tele, but to me it has its own rich voice that is deliciously unique.
Features
The bridge makes restringing an absolute breeze. Intonation is perfect right out of the box. Both pickups, in any position sound so clear and crisp. You can really get so much sparkle and spank out of the single coil, and great chunk and sustain out of the humbucker. Stays in tune very well, and the action as with all PRS guitars, is impeccable.
Ease of Use
It truly plays like a dream. It really brings out the best in an amp, and loves any and all pedals. Minimalistic design, creates the perfect balance of aesthetic and ease of use.
Quality
This is the second PRS Ive owned, I also had a Zach Myers SE, but the Vela is much more superior in quality all around.Build quality, component value, and design are just on a different level. This guitar is definitely the perfect gigging guitar. Has a great solid feel to it, everything seems sturdy and well made/put together.
Value
Absolutely worth its weight in diamonds.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't dealt with them so..
The Wow Factor
I love this thing. There is nothing i would to change it. It looks great, plays perfect, and sounds the best. It sounds and plays better and better every day.

This guitar should be in any serious guitar players arsenal...the first thing you'll notice is the tone. The single coils sound like no other single coils I've heard. It doesn't sound like a tele or strat...it has a tone unto itself and its great. The high ends are clear and bright. I'm glad PRS finally came out with a hard tail. Stays in tune just fine and the fret board is nice and smooth. The brass saddles are quite different than what I've seen before. Had to tweak the intonation ever so slightly with a local luthier, which is do primarily because that is what you get with brass saddles. This guitar is fun to play and is very light, so it won't put strain on a strap. Go try one somewhere, then buy it from zZounds...this is my 4th guitar or so from this company and I've NEVER had an issue. Shipping is fast and the payment plans allows me to get the gear I need or want, without trying to save the cash. PRS S2 VELA...TONE BEAST
