When this came in the post I thought that someone at zZounds was going to get fired. I did not expect something of such quality for 500 bucks. Right out of the box, with very little ear tuning, due to the shipping, I was playing. No fret buzz no need to adjust the bridge. Perfectly set. Sounds amazing, and the coil tap is just added to the over all package. This is a solid purchase. Well done.

Overall the guitar was close to perfect. One of the most comfortable guitars I have ever played. The setup was great too. I had one minor problem with a small blemish but customer service handled it beyond my expectations. Absolutely great customer service. I would not hesitate to order a guitar from zZounds in the future. I plan to buy a higher end acoustic in the near future and will be using zZounds

"Great value with some issues"

First off, I bought this guitar a few months ago because I loved the finish, the body materials, the cut of the guitar and it's a killer price point. The value of this guitar is great. I bought my wife a Schecter Omen Extreme 6 at the same time and the sound on both of the guitars is pretty close, but I'd say my wife's guitar has a better sound and it has everything to do with the pickups. First off, the guitar was set up very well out of the box(just some saddle adjustments needed). It's one of the most beautiful guitars I've seen. There are no major flaws in the build, just noticed a bit of glue around the neck joint, but no big deal. I love the way the neck feels and it's super playable with my big hands. The bad: The tone when switching between pickups is barely noticeable. The pickups in this guitar are weak. I get better clean tones out of my son's bullet squire strat(which I bought for 100 dollars). I mean, that's not to say that this thing sounds bad. It's very warm. My major problem is that it's slightly muffled and forget playing anything with high gain. The pickups are just weak. And the nut kills my strings very quickly. This needs to replaced pretty quickly. So, I will probably end up putting another 3-400 dollars into this guitar to get the sound I want. I don't regret buying this guitar at all. It's a wonderful guitar, especially if you are buying one to learn on, but it's not perfect. Fortunately, there are ways to make it better.

"Excellent guitar at a great price!"

This PRS is amazing to look at. Just perfect and plays great. My son wanted the Custom 24 SE but we could not afford the extra few hundred for the earlier models so when I saw this new standard model I jumped on it. It is built as you would expect a PRS to be built. I am so thankful that they put this model out because my son had his heart set on a PRS 24 SE and this one was made for him. Awesome product! He has played every one he could get his hands on at the local music shops and he cant tell much of a difference. A+++

"A great guitar if you know how to do some tweaking"

This would be a great guitar for a beginner or a great backup guitar (beater) for a pro or a studio guy if you don't want to risk bringing along your expensive guitars. First the cons - The thing that really annoyed me was that the fret edges were not dressed properly. I have owned American PRS guitars and Korean built PRS SE guitars. I have never seen the fret edge problem before this guitar. My first inclination was to take the guitar to a luthier and have them file down the fret edges, but being an impatient person and having some experience with this issue in the past, I went to home depot and bought a file set and settled on using a small triangular file for the job. It took me about an hour and a half to file the fret ends down to where it was smooth to the touch all the way up and down the neck on both sides. This is the first Indonesian version of a PRS SE I have experienced, so it may not be the norm. Maybe the fret end dresser guy was sick that day, or maybe they are all like that to save money. I changed the strings because I use a slightly different gauge, and the tuners were wiggling a bit with no string tension on them. I discovered that the little Phillips head screws on the back of the head stock were tight, but the nuts on the front of the tuners needed to be tightened a bit. I lowered the action on the bridge two full 360 rotations on each of the strings two Allen wrench adjusters to bring it to taste, but you can't really expect a guitar of this price to be set up perfect. Most of these things are not a big deal, but the fret wire ends not being dressed properly is a big deal IMO. Now the pros - Once you get it how you want it this is a great guitar. it has a great weight to it and feels really solid. The pickups sound pretty good too, and I have had experience with a lot of different pickups. The pull pot coil tapping is a really cool feature as well, and the fit and finish of the guitar it great if you remove the fret end dressing issue I mentioned above. The conclusion is that this is a great guitar if you know how to do some tweaking.
