If your looking for a great first guitar or just one that will be your workhorse , this would be a good pick. I got mine last month and have already worn out a new set of strings but then I play a lot..It is very kind on the fingers and sounds very creamy smooth, Once you get one, change the strings, I use Martin lights on mine and get a very mellow deep-ended sound that just fits the bill for what I'm wanting to do. The buit-in tuner is a nice feature and comes in handy especially on stage and tight spots. Kudos to ovation for that one! Love the neck board and found it very smooth, also the satin finish on the back of neck is a blessing as your hand flies up and down the neckboard. Get one and see for yourself! You won't regret it!

Sound
I would put this ovation up against any of your top guitars. My friend said you just can't go wrong and he was absolutely right. Perfect action, perfect sound, the pickups are great. I play through a small ultrasound 30 and it's just great. I own a martin d series with fishman pickups and it puts that to shame.

This piece is absolutely beautiful, just as described! The Koa wood grain is a real eye catcher, and well accented by the abalone inlay. The action wasn't as great as what other reviewers described, but acceptable until I find a real professional luthier. Overall, a great value. I would expect this quality in something priced 50% higher!
