I own a Ibanez AE10 that was given to me . I bought the Ovation so that I wouldnt have to lend out my Ibanez at the jams after church , I play drums . The Ovation has a different sound from the Ibanez . Acoustically it is louder . Plugged in it has a brighter sound , a little more bite . I really like this guitar . The built in tuner is a pluse . Its a little sturdier than the AE10 , you can bang on it harder than you can other guitars and not worry too much . And its easyer to change the strings on this thing since you dont have to worry about pegs . Getting a good sound pluged in is easy .I run it through a DI box into the board and run the channel flat . It has a good pre amp and its easy to get a good sound out of it . You can get several different good sounds out of it ! Good guitar for the money . Buy one !

Ovation Celebrity CC057 Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

Sound
Increased sensitivity on the interior "pickup" would help, but a well made guitar. Rates with the best in craftsmanship, and has a sound rivaling Martin, and I've owned both. The "bowl" shaped body a little difficult to get used to, but that's what makes the resonance what it is. Highly recommended.

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Quality features, tone, value, and the Ovation reputation are all good reasons for getting this guitar. My guitar instructor has a Glenn Campbell Ovation Balladeer from the mid '70s that plays and looks like it did when he bought it almost 30 years ago, although the natural top has yellowed a little. I plan on keeping this guiatr until it falls apart and I don't plan on that being any time soon. BUY IT!
Sound
I am a beginning guitar player and have owned it for about 2 months. It has a great sound with light or extra light strings. I have played it through a Peavey Rage 158 amp and it only sounds better. The onboard tuner and electronics are great. I was surprised at how deep and rich the sound is from a super shallow bowl back.
Features
My guitar didnt include any accessories except a truss rod wrench. The factroy strings were a little rough on my fingers(medium). I recommend changing them ASAP, besides lighter strings sound better on this guitar. The onboard electronics are great.
Quality
BULLETPROOF! I am hard on just about everything I own, this thing is tough. I have knocked it over several times and havent damaged it. The onboard tuner is great. If you are looking at another guitar that is a little less expensive it is worth the extra money to get the tuner.
Value
YES! WORTH EVERY PENNY! When I tell people that I have an Ovation they either want to see or play it. Excellent choice for the beginner or a seasoned vet.
The Wow Factor
I will never own another acoustic, love Ovations. I am going to buy a 12 string Balladeer for my next one.
