in the ever so dwindling role of the turntable nowadays...thannnx to the damn "toys" bombarding the dj realm of the turntableists and wax spinners who refuse to die...ortofon has proven over the years to be up there with pretty good cartridges and styli..along with others such as shure and stanton 680 and 500 series...but ortofom in my opinion gives me the greatest tracking stability and hold for especially fast and "violent" back cueing, scratching, mixing, and juggling!..with the concordes i feeel way more comfortable in spinning performance wise and love the bass response of the needles...yhe only thing with the "cartridges"..is sometimes its hard to find "nmatched" pairs sonically...and the contacts in the back are a little short and can provide less than optimal contact witht he tonearm...which at times you have to use pencil eraseed or actually moisten the back ...however styluses are second to none1

"THE BEST."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
i would never search for another brand of needle.
Sound
the sound from this needle is the best i've ever used. i've played using many other needles on other people's setups. this is rock solid! 10 years of use and only 1 out of the 3 that i bought need to be replaced.
Features
comes with a case, a brush, and i purchased a set that came with extra tips.
Ease of Use
you can see the needle tip for accurate needle drops.
Quality
i would NEVER rate any other needle company better than this one! i take good care of my needles, but there has been the occasional accidental drop of the needle onto the side of the platter. THEY STILL WORK after 10 years of use and abuse.
Value
only one set of needles bought in 10 years. i don't think anyone could complain about that value and quality of product.
Manufacturer Support
no support is ever needed. simple, powerful, does the job without shirking it's duties.
The Wow Factor
it's rugged and it works. that makes it awesome in my book

"More than expected"

I'm not a DJ, do I bought this cartridge purely for listening purposes. I actually didn't expect much but a decent starter or backup cart. I was mistaken. When played with a decent table it really excels. It has a warm sound, a little nicer than one expects from a conical stylus. In addition and to my surprise, it produces clear distinct highs and a good midrange. I use it as a nice break from my elliptical and ML stylus. My one issue is with a somewhat difficulty in set up and alignment. It's not a deal breaker, but one needs patience. Easily recommend especially at its price point.
