I finally bought this bass after looking at it for almost a year. I had been worried about the quality and playability for a long time, which is why I kept deliberating. Well, lemme tell you, if you are like me and have been going back and forth about getting one of these - don't wait any longer. They are amazing and easy to play and make the switch from a standard 34" or 35" long-scale bass to the 40"+ scale of this bass. The lower notes take a little getting used to - but within a single day of practicing my scales on this bass, I felt confident enough to try it at our Saturday night services at my church. And it sounded beautiful for worship music. I even got a bow, and am teaching myself how to bow on it. Oh - and if you are torn between the four and the five string versions - get the five string! That low B is just awesome to hear and feel on this bass. I absolutely love this bass now, and haven't touched one of my electrics since I got this bass from Zzounds two weeks ago!
