WoW! This thing is great! I am a music production student, at Full Sail University, and the Novation Impulse 61 is a GREAT midi controller keyboard, I couldn't ask for anything better. zZounds Pay As You Play program made it possible for me to purchase this great piece of gear on a very tight budget and low credit score. This keyboard blew me away, not only was it very responsive but all the features work well with FL studio, Pro tools and more! Every DAW I tested this with it worked just fine, it is also built very well and does not feel like a toy.

Its a MIDI keyboard controller that acts as a workstation. Rather than buy a keyboard synth-workstation that can cost 1000s you get this along with a good DAW and some VSTs and you're set. It easily surpassed my expectations. The keys feel great and after touch was well....a nice touch.

The Novation Impulse is a great MIDI keyboard. I love that it is USB powered and can connect through a basic midi cable and be powered by even my cell phone wall charger. My only problem is with the knobs (stated below)
Sound
The keyboard doesn't have any sounds.
Features
The mixer sliders are great, and it's nice that it also works for other things and I can assign them to MIDI-enabled devices in my DAW.The Drum pads feel good, I love the arp feature and how it works with the drum pads. The knobs are a little weird to use. It feels like it has some kind of feature that likes to enhance precision, but doesn't work very well, like the enchance pointer precision on the mouse in windows.
Ease of Use
Very easy to set up and use. The automap software is nice, but since I use Ableton, I don't really need it.
Quality
The keyboard is built like a tank. Even though it's plastic, it has lasted months unlike some other things I have.
Value
Definitely worth the price.

I've been playing music for about 10 years and making electronic music since late 2012. Make music at home, never played live.

Got this as a gift and was excited. After about 6mos it started changing the #key of my sounds on its own, and when I use the pitch wheel, the #key never returned. Solid piece of equipment but..The novation launch does the same thing
