Ok, here goes. I have an original JP first run from the prototype (you can see it on (scenes from a memory, live from new york) & it saved my life from switching back and forth acoustic and electric guitars (waited 9 freakin months for it though!) anyway there is nothing I've played that has EVER played & sounded so good! Well, I decided I wanted to put it away for safe keeping. I didn't really care for the two tone colors of the Majesty until the artisan. the wood grain with the gold hardware just sold me so, I pre ordered one (I believe the first one zZounds got in) and yeah, another 7 MONTHS! it shows up at my door. I was so excited. when i got it out of the fantastic packaging and picked it up I actually thought "what the hell?" it feels like a toy. I've never had a neck thru. The action was a little high & wasn't as happy as I thought I would be. Well, I took it to my friends here in portland at "the twelfth fret" They did MINOR tweaking. They loved the nut on it & said they didn't have to do a full set up (only charged half price) Now, I can tell you THIS THING PLAYS ITSELF! It's soooooo hard to put down. The neck is so flat! the whammy on this one is much, much better & the boost switch is bad ass. I have a JP-2C also & you just don't ever have to think about hooking up any kind of overdrive with these two things jesus. just beware when you have it on clean, the boost switch is loud. you can adjust that though for ANY type of music you play. I've played a $6500 les paul & a $10,000 PRS This thing blows them away!!! And it's light. for being as light as it is you wouldn't think you'd get some of the most woodsy tones out of it. The tone knob which splits the pick ups into the two center coils is freaking awesome (just like on my original) but, this one you can use both pick ups together & sounds amazing too. Like I said, I could keep going on this but, If you're even thinking about getting one DON'T HESITATE. I've been playing for 41 years now (man I'm gettin old) started when I was 8 & besides my original, This is pure awesome. I'm gonna go home and stare at it again. Oh & in case you're wondering, with this full blown metal set up, I get better country sounds out of this than with my Fender Esquire! I play in a county rock band but, I love my Megadeth & Killswitch. Not to mention old Dream Theater.
