"A real homerun!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

Ok, let's face it - your not going to play a concert hall with a $70 amp - but this amp will have you thinking about it. I've got about every gadget a guitar player or keyboard player could ask for and this thing is by far the best value of them all. I played with it for three hours after I pulled it out of the box. I have played everything I own through it and it handles it all surprizingly well - acoustic, electric, keyboard - even bass, but not as well. Everything sounds clean at volumes that stand up to an un-amplified Drum Kit (don't forget we're talking about a $70 amp here!) The first thing you notice is that it's built like tank and has the classy signature "Marshall" look that every high school guitar player dreams of owning. Then you plug it in and with the first pluck notice that this is not your average portable guitar amp. The clean setting is crisp at very high volumes and the distortion setting has a bassy quality that rivals much larger amps. I can play just about any style of music with it and be happy with the sound. You could probably use it for a gig in a medium sized room or church. Ok, Enough Hype: This is truly a great value. It features a single input with a switch to select between clean and distortion. It has a really neat "CD input" jack that allows you to play along with anything that has a line-level output (including a keyboard or sound module). This is carried through to the headphone port, along with an emulated speaker signal so you can listen with full guitar fuzz. Four knobs allow you to control Volume, Distortion/Gain and Tone. These level controls are very clean - they don't suffer from the adjustment noise that plaque many amps in this price range. Best of all the sound is all "Marshall" - they really hit a homerun with this one. If you play electric guitar, get one of these NOW before Marshall decides to start selling them for what their truly worth - a lot more.

Too small to be a "10", but WOW!

"THE BEST PRACTICE AMP IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I'm never going to get another practice amp!!!
Sound
The Marshall MG10CD is amazing I bought it 1 week ago, and it's awesome. It sounds so good it's amazing.
Features
Well it had good overdrive sound, but it wasn't overall that good on the long run, but it's still awesome!!!
Ease of Use
Turn it up all the way overdrive on gain at 10, volume at 10, and contour on 0 it is a metal machine overdrive of nice clean sound overdrive on gain at 5, volume at 8 or 9, and contour at 4, you got Rock sound. Overdrive on gain at 1, volume at 7, and contour at 10, you got blues sound.
Quality
It is made perfectly hard. You drop it 2 feet it doesn't have a scratch. It can't break!!!!!!!!
Value
It was at an amazing price!!!

Well i've never had a Marshall amp before, but I'm never getting another GUITAR AMP. I still need a cheapish bass amp though.

"Hey, it's a MARSHALL!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This Marshall 10 watt is so sweet that I bought a MG15 also (a little more sound with seperate tone controls.) If you can only have 1 amp, it has to be a Marshall. For practicing or just playing at home this 10 watt is probably all you will need. After you have one, you won't be able to live without it. If it's lost or stolen, you'll be out the next day to get another.
Sound
I have a Fender, Crate and Marshall 10 and there is NOTHING like a Marshall. For a 10 watt it is just the best. It has that BIG Marshall sound.
Features
It's great for what it is. Could use seperate tone controls, but it has that pure Marshall sound and that's what counts,
Quality
Quality is excellant.
Value
With all other amps in this range costing about the same, Marshall is the hands down winner for value.
Manufacturer Support
I have not needed service or warranty work.
The Wow Factor
Hey, it's a Marshall. What more can you say? Nothing else has that Marshall sound. It's the gold standard for amps. And if that's not sexy enough, I guess nothing is!

"WOW!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Great amp, no complaints. The guys up at Marshall are geniouses for making this little wonder and selling it so cheap.
Sound
When I first turned on this amp, I was blown away that such great tone and depth could come from a little 6 inch speaker. It sounds a lot better than my other 20 watt amp, and is probably louder too.
Features
The only thing that I wish this amp had was a separate tone control. I can go easily without reverb, since I have pedals for that. Other than that, it's perfect. The CD in/Line out jack is really useful. You can easily play along with your fovorite CD. Especially useful if you are trying to learn a song.
Quality
You could throw this amp out a window, then go jump on it and it would be in perfect condition. This is a rugged little amp.
Value
For $70, a Marshall. I thought it was a joke. I paid 100 euros (about $130) and it was still a great value.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with them.
The Wow Factor
This amp has all the appeal of all the other higher-end Marshalls, and also that nice warm tone we have come to know and love. You can't find a better amp for a better price, even for $40-$50 more.

"This little monster rocks!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Far and away exceeds expectations. Let's get real here, it's no Marshall or Fender stack but, I'm telling you, you will be blown away by the sound of this little monster!
Sound
AWSOME, Unexpected from an amp this size but, IT'S A MARSHALL.
Features
Clean and overdrive.....in such a small package...you won't find a better deal anywhere at any price on a small practice amp.
Ease of Use
Ease of use? Come on! Let's get real here, if you don't find an amp easy to use quit playing!
Quality
I haven't owned it very long so it's hard to comment on dependability however, it's got one of the best, most respected names on it so, I expect quality service for many years.
Value
If you're a beginner or a seasoned player that doesn't want to keep lugging around that big amp, this is perfect, you won't be disappointed. The sounds I get out of this amp are incredible! I defy anyone to show me a product in the $69 - $89 that performs better than this one and I'll burn my Les Paul (ok, maybe I won't). Seriously, a great amp at a great price.
The Wow Factor
It's a Marshall, what else do I have to say!

"The Marshall sound in a little practice amp"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
If I were going to buy a practice amp again, I might at least *try* some of the other modeling amps in its price range or even cheaper. There are also a couple of cheap practice amps out there that have real tube preamps. But I love the Marshall sound, so it would take a real amp of distinction to beat this thing out for me, and I don't know that there really are any amps like that in this price range.
Sound
A bunch of years ago one of my bandmates had a Marshall stack with a tube head. This little amp honestly has that same sound, at least as I remember it. It really does have that Marshall sound. Of course, that means it's not going to appeal to everybody - it's kind of a dirty distortion and a twangy clean. The manual that comes with the amp claims Marshall is using some sort of proprietary technology that forces the preamp to interact with the amp in the same way a tube would. It seems to be more than just a gimmick.
Features
It doesn't have a heck of a lot of features, especially for a transistor amp. You get two channels, clean and distortion. That's it. I doubt most people really need more than that, though; this is the purist's practice amp. But it does mean you probably don't want this amp if the Marshall sound isn't what you're after.
Ease of Use
It really doesn't get much easier. Power button, overdrive button, tone, volume and gain controls. If you can't work this interface, then you're not ready to own an amp of any kind.
Quality
It seems very solid for the most part. Only thing I'm a little worried about is the carry handle - there is a *lot* of play before it "catches" when you pick it up. I'm used to amps and amp heads with handles that don't have a lot of give. It's probably just paranoia, but it kind of feels like the handle's going to come off whenever I pick this thing up.
Value
There are cheaper practice amps out there, and I haven't tried them all. Some of them do modeling and have other modes that this amp lacks. But this amp has the Marshall sound. If that's what you want, it's totally worth it.
Manufacturer Support
This is really n/a, but I can't fault Marshall for a service I haven't used, so I'm not taking any points off.
The Wow Factor
Honestly, just seeing that big "Marshall" logo on it makes it look good. Those classic Marshall knobs and gold backplate don't hurt its aesthetics either. And it's just so small and cute otherwise. I think it looks great for a practice amp.

"Excellent For The Price"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This is the best amp you can get for $70. I've had a few small amps like this, but this is the best one I've had. I see alot of people complementing the "Marshall" name. Although this is my first Marshall, I can tell you that it's probably the best amp this size out there. The price is excellent.
Sound
The sound in this amp is very good. The distortion is pretty good, and the clean it good. Overall I rate it a 9 for a very nice sound.
Features
The features were OK on this. Not too much to choose from. Clean and overdrive pretty much. But two different sounds. The distortion customization is pretty well put together, so you can get just about any sound you want.
Ease of Use
It's an amp. Not hard to use...
Quality
The quality of this amp is very good. When you take everything in and think about it, this is a very excellent buy for only $70.
Value
This is absolutely worth the money. A cheap priced amp, but the best sound you can get for $70. Very good for playing in your home. You could probably play in churches or small buildings as well. This thing can get pretty loud for a small amp.
Manufacturer Support
I can only rate this a 5 since I haven't needed any support. But I do know that they give you a 5 year warranty.
The Wow Factor
It's a very slick looking amp. It has a gold plate where the knobs are, and a nice white Marshall logo. It looks very good.

Definately worth it. Great amp, nice sound, good durability, and a sweet pricetag.
Sound
The sound is amazing for an amp this price. Nice full overdrive, sounds really good soft or loud.
Features
The overdrive is good for it's size. Also i like the handle on top, i used it to tuck the power cord into when i wasnt using it.
Quality
Very sturdy, i bumped it into a couple tables and was afrid my friend would be mad if it had dents or scratches but didnt even leave a mark.

GREAT deal...definately buy it.

"Amp it up!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
For practicing and small room demonstrations. its a must keep. I will keep this amp for those purposes and buy additional bigger amps for bigger shows and such. I would look for more featurs such as reverb and echo featurs on the amps without havin to buy pedals. and a amp with better distortion channel.
Sound
The original overdrive channel is not really that great so I use some distortion pedals. Clean channel is good.
Features
For any low priced equipment your not gonna have alot of features, but this amp has some things to make up for it like the headphone jack for silent practice and a cd input to play along with other pieces.
Ease of Use
You can figure out all the features and knobs as soon as you unwrap it.
Quality
Its an amp made for small room playing and practice so its great for that purpose. Built like an abrams tank! Ive dropped it and all im worried about is puncturing through the mesh screen.
Value
For the name and money it cost, its a great deal.
Manufacturer Support
I have never had to call MArshal for any support, I also have a tuner from them that works fine!
The Wow Factor
Its got the Signature look of all Marshals, but dont expect to get a girlfriend because of this 10 watter. You need to get the big cabinets for that! haha. but its an awesome amp, my first amp I ever had, and will have until I have money to upgrade but ill still keep this amp.

For such a small amp, it put out lots of sounds.. its perfect for a first time guitar player. Marshall is one of the top of the line products and they really do prove themselves.
Features
The features on the amp were satisfying... it has over drive and clean which works for the sad mood song and for the ones that just kick people in the ear.

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
This is a fantastic beginner amp and, at this price, it's a steal. The only thing keeping it from a ten is the lack of bass, mid and treble controls, still highly recommended.
Sound
Great Sound considering it's size, has that fantastic Marshall tone, could use bass, mid and treble controls though.
Features
Simple, no frills, clean and overdrive channels with volume controls on each and gain and contour controls on overdrive. Also has a CD input and a headphone input.
Ease of Use
Couldn't be simpler, you should have no trouble getting the sound you want.
Quality
Very solid, I carry mine around a lot and it hasn't hinted at dying yet, I'm sure I'll get many more years out of it.
Value
You'll be hard pressed to find a better amp for the price.

Cheap sound...very! Save your money and buy something starting in the 25 watt range.
Sound
I can't believe my eyes with all the rave reviews for this teenie tiny practice amp. I didn't realize how useless it was until I bought a used Fender Champion 30. The difference is startling as one might expect, yet both are mere "practice amps". I wish I could afford a 60+ amp. I'm trying to sell this thing and get my daughter something that doesn't do the guitar a great injustice!
Features
You get what you pay for. I'd never buy an amp without reverb...it makes a huge difference.
Quality
Nice lookin' and hearty to feel and touch. I'm sure it could take a lickin'.

i just wish it had a bit more control on the tone. this amp is hard wearing and well built. i wouldn't buy it again because for a 20 pounds more you can get the functionality its lacking. But overall a good sound quality for the price
Sound
Excellent sound quality for both clean and distorted sounds. There is plenty of gain - i often use the gain channel more often than my distortion pedal
Features
the cd input is ok for jamming alongto -cool. But....(and this is my only beef with this amp) There is only one tone control, which makes it hard to tweak your sound. Annoying if you have a great sound but just a tad too much bass or treble. If it had a bass, mid, and treble button you could fine tune and not compromise your sound, which is a pain
Ease of Use

Good Shit. Like I said I might upgrade in the near future.
Sound
This amp sounds pretty good for a small practise amp. The only thing I dislike about it is that it feeds back like crazy if you turn it up even past a quater way. But if you are going to just use it to pratise, you don't need to turn it up that high anyway, it's pretty loud even if you turn it up a little bit.
Features
Pretty basic. Clean, distortion gain and contour. Nothing else needed in a practise amp.
Quality
Great. "It's a Marshall." But again, that feedback pisses me off. It only happens when the gain is cranked, which for me, is always.
Value
Good amp for the money. I might get a better amp soon. Maybe an Avt50. MAYBE. I need a car.

For practice and teaching, it is light and easy to use. If I had to purchase another, it would be the same amp.
Sound
The sound quality is excellent. For such a small amp it is hard to believe that it can produce that much volume. The overdrive is amazing. I play a variety of music from Blues, Rock, to country. This little amp keeps up quite well. Great for a small area, practice or beginner with limited space.
Features
The product doesn't come with accessories. But is has the basic features anyone needs for practice or small jam sessions.

It's a Marshall. It looks and feels like its bigger versions. This little amp is detailed to the max.
