I bought these shortly after Martin offered Retros for 12-strings. These played nice and sound real warm as advertised on my 1996 Martin D12-1. The Monel windings are sure corrosion-resistant. Unfortunately, the plain strings didn't last long. They tarnished like other ordinary strings under my acidic fingers. It'd be great if the plain strings received anti-corrosion treatment like the SP Lifespans so that they last as long as the Monel-wound ones.
