"The 2004 Detroit Piston of Monitors (Underdog)"

Cant beat it for the buck hands down. Honestly id say the smartest thing to do would be to just buy a bunch of pairs in bulk (if your ballin) and just disperse them as you go
Sound
The Sound is really magnificent. Ive used these to in my studio to record about 8 albums, all of different genres and they produce great clarity. The 8 inch woofers have dispersion that adds a nice punch to the lows. The are the best ive come by so far. Im sure there are better, but not for this price. Id recommend these to anyone doing a start up studio like i did, or simply just trying to get the best sound for your buck
Features
Pretty cool and straight for. However i would have liked for the control settings to be located on the front for more convenience. Other than that, its pretty simple
Ease of Use
Nuff said. Pretty primative
Quality
Very durable also. I accidentally dropped one about 5 feet off the ground its still ticking as normal. I respect the design (it being bulky and boxy) cause it is those specification that add to its durability
Value
Way worth the dollar. Like i said, id recommend these to anyone starting a studio. Of course if your business is good and picks up youll want to upgrade. But consider these monitors in the same tier as a startup loan, Something to get you rolling and making noise until you can afford the greater stuff
Manufacturer Support
Despite the error i kept receiving when trying to send an email, and the 10 min wait to get through to an operator, The support was great. I was just calling to register my products and see about a repair to the second set i bought (cranked the woofers up to max for hours for a listening party and blew them) and the support was great. The squared my situation out that instant and received my new set within a week
The Wow Factor
Again real boxy, bulky, and basic. Im easy to please so i dont complain. In fact i can care less cosmetically what it possess as long as it gets the job done. Their Deluxe model is a little more sexier and of course a lil more pricier if you want something more eye candy-ish

"Beautiful in sound, ugly in looks."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
As for the sound and price/what you get, I will give them a 10+. As looking from a Louis Vuittonic perspective, they're ugly. But the thing is I own them and I cand do very tight and good mixes just on them.
Sound
First of all, I've tried the Axiom from MAudio and i found it cheezy, the the Fast Track Pro and didn't liked it's sound and I tought that M-Audio just sucks, but then, then I heard these monitors...and bought them. P.S. As an advice, when you buy monitors, buy the ones that make your music sound worst as they will expose the most holes. The sound in these is just incredible, the woofers sound how they should, just the expression of the low end is terrific. I've recently done a dirty south album on these things and I've verified my mixes on a radio cd, on a hi-hi and in a car with a tigh system and it sounded just great. Sure there are better sounding stuff, there always will be, but for this price, it can't get better.
Features
It would have been nice a on/off buton in the front and even a headphone jack, but hey, it's al about the sound.
Ease of Use
Plug and Play, can't say more.
Quality
Awesome feel, awesome sound.
Value
Good for the buck.
Manufacturer Support
Well, I haven't had problem with these, but I've reached M-Audio for support on my ex-Axiom (I now own a XBoard 61) and they sucked, pardon my language, but I don't know any issues that you could have with the monitors, They're just great.
The Wow Factor
Actually, I don't like their look, it's kinda ugly, but as I Said, they sound just the right way.

"Best Buy!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Sound quality is rather good (exceptionally good when we consider the price tag)
Features
There is no E.Q. or wall placement adjustment. Only volume knob. Though it serves me right, if one needs to place them in a weird position/room acoustic, it will be harder to get the sound one's looking for.
Ease of Use
Plug & Play
Quality
Everything is very robust, transpires quality and confidence. Seeing that Kevlar is a component found on bulletproof vests, I was expecting a woofer more robust on the touch. Still... they are meant to be listened and not touched.
Value
Worth every penny. I don't think there is any competition in its class. Upgraded from an Alesis 620 and eventhough the price difference isn't that much... the results are obvious: the BX8a Deluxe easily trumps it.
Manufacturer Support
I'm yet to use it.
