Im absolutely impressed with this little kit ! Im 47 years in music and well lets face it you learn how to tune your drums to the sound you want and I needed a small regular kit to add to my Kat percussion ktmp1 percussion pad and this was it.great hardware and all finished lightly with a little tuning and a couple of pieces of Moon Gel to get them the way I wanted and Im using the stock heads, cymbals are light but Ill probably replace them with a Meinl Set or similar.Great grab and go kit for small gigs, the size and weight is obviously not for a 6 night a week touring drummer we all have to be creative in this business to suit our need. Any beginner also would be glad to get a set of these only took me about 20 Minutes to assemble. Thanks to zZounds and Questlove !

I bought this kit for our five kids, ranging from 1 to 11, and they were all intrigued when it arrived. As I pulled the pieces from the box they began to get excited. After half an hour it was assembled, tuned, and ready to roll. I called them all in and for the next three hours they took turns playing. The smiles were so genuine I recalled my own first experience playing music. If you want to make your kids happy, this kit is sure to please. Thank you Questlove and zZounds for making this experience happen! The only upgrades needed (if you have a discerning ear) would be new heads and a ZBT Zildjian cymbal set. They sound completely adequate for the beginning drummer (which the set is aimed at), but the heads seem thin and the cymbals lack expression. All in all, a bargain. Oh, and adults can play them as well, thanks to that famous Ludwig quality. If you're on the fence, spend the 250 and make the purchase.

Really didn’t think too much of it but the hardware is what surprised me. Very sturdy and well put together like you would get from any other major brand. My son loves it so much that he doesn’t even play it lol. I’m the main one that takes it out on small gigs and it has been holding up so far. One advice is to IMMEDIATELY change the heads. GREAT PRODUCT. thanks Questlove and Ludwig

Reasonably priced, this kit is ok for one thing I suppose. If your child is interested in a drum kit, and you want to do something short of buying him a real one, then this is a cheap option, for a limited amount of time. Nothing precisely sounds right except for some reason the rack tom. The snare has the look but not the functionality of a snare, and today the bracket that holds the floor tom leg sheared off because I tightened it. Time for a real set.

Musical Background:

I play mostly in a home studio. I have played for 30 years.
