I am a beginner guitarist. I've read a lot about the accuracy of modeling amps, with most of it being negative. I'm sure an expert that has heard and played on the actual amps and cabs being modeled, can tell a difference and may not like the simulation. However for me, someone that is playing in their house, it's very cool. I do think it's best to tether it to an iPad, so you can clearly see the different amps and cabs icons, and tweak each one more easily. I also like the optional G10T wireless transmitter, as it makes it much easier to move around.

Wanted a smaller amp with built-in effects. Toting pedal boards etc back and forth is a hassle. This fits the bill perfectly

Long story short hated this amp found my self playing my 15w spider more the sound is really muffled the interface is tedious and takes to long to find the sound you want the spider app constantly crashes I set up a return ordered the Katana50 what a huge difference I did a blind sound test with my whole family listening and they all chose the Katana every time

When I bought this amp I had an iPhone and everything worked great. The app is fun and the Line 6 cloud of tones is really cool. The sound is not great but it is a modeling amp after all. I used my headphones most of the time anyway. However, a few weeks ago I made the mistake of switching to android (Google Pixel). That's when this amp started sucking real bad. Regarding compatibility the description says: USB (iOS/Android*/Mac/PC) *Requires Android OS 5.0 "Lollipop" and higherBut this is not entirely true. I had no luck using the app with the amp with either my new Google Pixel, Samsung tablet, or samsung phone (old edge). Then I saw this on the Line 6 forums: "If an Android device does not support USB host mode, it cannot connect to Spider V amps"http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/spider-v/spider-remote-android-connection-troubleshooting-r840Why is that not made clear on the purchase page? Luckly, zZounds was super cool about it and allowed me to return it for a refund.
