"Verbizilla Review"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Construction Quality: Really heavy, but the foot switch is a little fragile (My unity was bought 3 years ago and never given a problem, but I think that if something heavy hit its' footswitch, it could break). The potenciometers / knobs are perfect, rotating slowly and softly. Sound and Feature: Great. Really transparent while the mix is lower 75%, and creates some very interesting sounds in near 100%, especially in Cave mod. I've made this ''in depth'' review that demonstrates this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZDzyaN0a2k . It works much better in stereo, if you change the mix too high on mono settings it starts to change your guitar tone (but only around 80%). Also, every mod is VERY different from the others, and all of them have the same processing quality, that is great. I think a Cross-Over parameter would be a good add on, but balancing time and decay you can achieve it. I have a Lexicon reverb, and comparing them i found out that Lexicon is not really worth the price, Verbzilla comes really close to it, and has way much more versatility (and cost/benefit, of course). Another great thing is the trails switch in Verbzilla, that is brilliant. You can cut the reverb trail or let it resound when you turn the pedal off, a thing that is of absolute need while playing live. So, basically, chossing it, you take studio quality reverb to your stage. Manufactrer Support: Not needed until now. Ease of Use: Ridiculously easy. Every parameter is self-explanatory and you can get your first tones in seconds. Value: Absolutely worth it. The Wow Factor: Versatility and easy of use, without losing the quality.

"Verbzilla - My kind of monster!"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
High points: Rugged compact stompbox, plenty of killer reverb models Low points: uses up batteries very quickly
Sound
Great sounds! From post-modern, hair metal or surf rock. The settings let you dial up the warmest to the splashy-est reverbs around.
Features
This hefty pedal comes with the standard mix, delay and time controls. The additions of a tone knob, model selector and trails switch set this box apart from other reverb stomps. My favorite function has to be the Model Switch. You can choose from 11 types of reverbs - most of which are self explanatory: '63 Spring (based on a Fender 1963 brown spring reverb head unit a la The Ventures), Spring, Plate, Room, Chamber, Hall, Ducking (volume of your reverb is "ducked" reduced while you're playing, and increases when you stop), Octo (ambient space with a harmonized decay), Cave, Tile, and Echo. I found the models to be very clean, noise-free and authentic. There is plenty of splash in those early reverb models. The Octo setting is quite viby and easy to dial in thanks to the time control. The Trails switch is also good for letting your notes continue ringing with reverb after the pedal has been disengaged.
Ease of Use
Plug and play. Easy-breezy!
Quality
They sure crammed a lot of functionality into this compact pedal. Since the Verbizlla is part of the Tonecore line you can purchase other Tonecore effect modules to insert and play with. The housing seemed really sturdy with easy access to the battery compartment. The unit is powered by a standard 9v pedal power supply or battery. I suggest using a power supply since the batteries drain very quickly.
Value
The Verbzilla from Line 6 delivers on its promise for studio-grade algorithms to your pedalboard. If you are looking to get the biggest bang for your buck in the world of reverb than the Verbzilla is your monster!
Manufacturer Support
No worries to date.
The Wow Factor
I've never been a fan of reverb pedals, but after a friend turned me on to the Verbzilla I had to try it. Now it's got a permanent home on my pedalboard. Try it for yourself!
