Well, I play in a cover band, and since I do, I need many different tunings, sounds, etc. I ran across the Line 6 JTV69S and was ecstatic! Wow, finally one guitar that would eliminate my need for extra guitars on stage, capo'ing, etc....or at least I thought! After I got this guitar in, I proceeded to put it through the paces. I tried every guitar, dobro, banjo, sitar, etc.....that was available, and I ran through the multiple tunings. This is MY take from my experience with this guitar. First the BAD.....when the modeling is not engaged, the JTV69S sounds great, as it has a trio of very nice sounding single coil pick-ups, but when the modeling is engaged, all of the sounds feel and sound digitalized to me. The neck also was uncomfortable to me, and the guitar played very stiflly. I've been playing for over 40 years, and to my hands and ears, it just didn't sound OR feel right. Now the GOOD......The tunings work unbelievably well, and are spot on! If you buy this guitar for tunings, then you might have something, but if you're looking for a Swiss army knife of a guitar, then I think that experienced players will be disappointed. It lacks in feel and tone.....

This is my second one. Got the 3 single coil white. Good playing guitars. Sort of an all-purpose neck. 1st and second one match up on necks and finish and not too bad right out of the gig bag. Floated the trems a bit more and a little lower action. Worth the $, and I mean really worth it because this a decent off-shore guitar with off-planet tonal capabilities. Love all the guitar models especially the Teles,Semis, and Acoustics. Running the acoustics into the board or with a full frequency PA or keyboard amp is the way to go. I expected the acoustics to be the weak link. Not true, even the 12 strings! Trems a bit noisy and pingy on dive bombs but for subtler work just great with decent tuning stability. 1st one I got had on/off swtiching failure but Line 6 was great. Told me how to quick fix the problem and then sent me 2 extra parts just in case. Have had the 1st one for almost 2 years now and no further problems. The tuning capabilities on these guitars is the icing on the cake. Grab a slide, put in on one of the 12 string acoustics, drop it to baritone and try not to smile. And if all that were not enough, the rockin' staff at Zzounds enhances it every time I order from them. Fast shipping, too. Gonna go plug it in now. Sorry about the volume. Not really.

If you criticize this for its sound you are missing the entire point of this instrument. If you look at the videos on youtube and you need a guitar that's truly versatile, then this is it. Look no further. I never see them around, I LOVE that I am the only guy around Long Island with one... Kicks ass for a cover project - 10 tunings, 45 guitar models, dogs can hear the difference. At events no one cares about the difference between a real Tele and this. Play tastefully and it sounds AWESOME. Reliable performance, plays great, sounds incredible. Buy one.

"Great concept bad design"

I really wanted this guitar to work out for me. I liked the idea of having all of those guitar and tuning options available at the switch of a knob. When I got the guitar opened and felt the neck I knew I wouldn't be keeping it. Maybe I just got a bad one, but for $1000.00 guitar the neck felt like a $200 guitars neck. Sharp fret edges and high frets made it unplayable. I played with it for about 1/2 hour and my fingers physically hurt when done. I didn't even get a chance to check out the electronics that's how bad it was. I have a $300 chinese Fender guitar and the neck on it blows this one away. It's too bad because it seems like such a great concept, but if you can't play it what good is it? This one falls under the too good to be true items. Now for the good called zZounds and was able to return it for a full refund no questions asked I would definitely recommend them and will use them for future purchases.
