"The Extreme is just a fun and easy to use board. If Yamaha would wake up and create a 21st Century interface, Korg may have a r"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Just like the 01/w, this is a timeless keyboard, better than all the other Triton models, even the studio version.
Sound
Basically, learn the interface (very easy) and tweak the sounds. Dont think Ive ever used factory loaded sounds for gigging and studio use.
Features
Korg still needs to impliment good filters, otherwise the onboard features are really good.
Ease of Use
Korg, by far, is the best for programming hands down. I own the Motif ES as well and Yamaha is still on the slow boat when it comes to user friendly interface.
Quality
Already fixed my Extreme twice, so being a home technician always helps, sound quality is A+. Though Yamaha has great sounds, Korg is better all around for versatility. Great drum machine, techno, B3, Rhodes, you name it. Also, Yamaha has many banks that you cant overwrite (BLASPHEMY!!!!), most of which are garbage, so sticking with korg for being high quility.
Value
Good value for what you get. I agree that the frame seems very plastic/cheap, but the action is superb. People need to get off the sequencer boat when it comes to workstations. PC recording is soooo much easier and better sound wise that I only use the onboard stuff for small loops and quantizing.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed support.
The Wow Factor
Own it, will alway own one, and will get another one if that time comes.

"i want it back"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
put it like this... i used to love my triton studio for about a month then i started hatein it. i started missing my old keyboard.(so3)yamaha. and then about 6 months later. i got a motif es 6. and the triton just collected dust. ecxept my cousin and some clients used it. but i totally didnt use it. and somethin came up and i had to get rid off it..... to make a long story short. i started missing some of its sounds and now i want a new on. and the extreme sound better than the studio to me so no i want it back..........
Sound
sounds better than triton studio for almost a g cheaper.
Quality
its made of all plastic. i havent had a plastic workstation in a long time. last time a had a plastic keyboard was the djx! but hay all u really need is for it to work right. but u cant let ya kids play on this one.
The Wow Factor
the sound of this triton is what i expected out of my studio. the sound just sound full on this one. without layering it about 4 times. it sounds almost as good as the motif es 6. the extreme is nice but i wouldnt trade my es for it.

"Practice makes perfect, overall it stays the the best workstation"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I will be satisfied for a long time. You don't need more than 16 tracks for your midi songs. I will not trade it for a Korg Oasys for instance. It meets all my requirements for studio use and works well. What could be better is some natural sounds, filters and it coud use a bit of raw power.
Sound
Like most korg products it sounds a little bit processed. Natural sounds got a lot better with the extreme version. but especially yamahas sound a lot more lively.
Features
it's OK. Keyboard is better then the old ones. The joy-stick is very nice
Quality
It's OK, it's not as well made as a Yamaha instrument in terms of build quality. But I will not use it for gigs. in terms of user friendliness, this thing beats a Yamaha by miles
Value
It's good, but the exra features don't come cheap. Especcialy with the Yamaha Motif you get a lot more hardware with more sound engines effects etc. But Yamaha should look at the user friendliness of their synths
Manufacturer Support
It never went wrong sofar, so i can't really judge on this. Generally Korg has a good representation in Europe
The Wow Factor
Well, It's a bit of a glamoursynth with a lot of features. When it gets to tweaking sounds, it's a bit boring. I have an old Kurzweil K2000 that i use for live setup. It may be old, but it has incredble primitive power. When i would use them live together the Triton will be nowhere.

"THE GRANDMASTER KORG!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I will never buy anything but a Korg. I really tried to give Roland a shot this time around but I would play the roland for a few minutes then find myself walking back over to the triton extreme. I will never buy Yamaha, not unless they get there crap together and consider a more user friendly screen which doesnt require a magnifying glass
Sound
PRIMO!!!! The clearest most desireable sounds on any keyboard..PERIOD!!! I have been comparing boards for the past month trying to decide which one to buy so far KORG TRITON EXTREME kicks everyother boards ASS!!! ( Roland Fantom X6, Yamaha Motif es6,are just to name a few. Korg is by far the most proffesional sounding board of the bunch. Not only are there tons of sounds, none are thin, and can be programmed even better.
Features
Just the fact you get the new Korg Legacy collection free till JULY ..HOLY COW!!!! What a steal!
Quality
A+++++ Cannot beat the sound quality or build of this Board. WOW!!
Value
Like I said before, KORG LEgacy collection free, plus a Korg triton with all the expansion boards already built in, this is probably the biggest steal to date!!!
Manufacturer Support
No need to call yet~
The Wow Factor
Sold my Triton Studio, and access virus KC to buy this, if that tells you anything!

"It's got a lot, but I expect more"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I've had it for a year and a half, and am looking for something better.
Sound
I find myself wishing for fatter, more industrial, edgier sounds. Maybe it's just not the keyboard for the sound i want. It sounds too retro-synthy (and not in a good way). That said, it's extremely versatile. I can usually find or make a sound "in the ballpark."
Features
I love the pressure strip/joystick -- all those help to manipulate the sound in real time. However, the knobs (which also manipulate in real time) are so small, they're not terribly easy to control. I dislike sequencing without a decent visual readout. And you can't store any sequencing info on board. Gots to use a memory card (pain).
Ease of Use
It's a pain. I'm used to working with Mac computers, and it feels like a step back into the '90s to work with this readout. When computers can do what they do, why do electronic instruments have to be so primitive? I have not found it to be user friendly.
Quality
Seems well made
Value
Seems average.
The Wow Factor
It was practical. Versatile.

"My opinion on the Triton Extreme."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
It sounded quite well off for the piano and acoustic guitar but could be further improve. The tube that comes with the keyboard provides a warm sound to the individual timbre.
Features
like the tube that comes with it..
Quality
Due to humidity and the change in room temperature, the underside of the keyboard rust easily. Therefore I would recommend that the material could be change to brash aluminium or copper coated with a layer of spray paint.
Value
Well, of course the price could be cheaper. The area that I bought it from could be slightly on the high price.
Manufacturer Support
I purchase my keyboard from a local company here. The services provided was good enough and it satisfies my needs.
The Wow Factor
Somehow the color attracts my eyes and it's kind of different from the older models.

"good studio keyboard, live performance is not so amazing."

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
have the triton 6 months playing live, will change it for a yamaha es as soon as possible, dont like alot of the sounds as they are not natural, would not replace it or buy another one,for my style playing it is not suitable, was using the trinity for years and decided on the triton as an update, not impressed
Sound
better studio synth for recording, use one live with a roland rd 700 piano, some sounds are fat and warm, was going to get rid of my trinity but there is not enough possitive live action from the triton to justify live performances, will change for a yamaha es.to much plastic feel to this synth,,
Features
no accesories were included with my triton, think the touch screen is a good asset and it is user friendly towards yamaha synths, think the tube is a bit dated and not so natural sounding, have the trinity also and the pianos are much sweeter and better
Ease of Use
dont think all the sounds are great, interface is good with usb capability, sound modification is easy to adjust.not so compatable with other keyboards on a live stage, think the manual is well laid out and accurate
Quality
to much plastic feel to the triton, trinity much stronger and better finish, dont think it would take much wear and tear as to many thin knob controls that will break to easy, use the trinity as a back up incase it breaks,,
Value
dont think its as good as other keyboards for around the same price.slightly disssapointing in general
Manufacturer Support
had no dealings with the company yet, think in general support is good as korg are a leading manufacturer,,,
The Wow Factor
think the keyboard looks good with the blueish colour.the feel is ok and a nice touch , use it as a part of a live set up .better for studio work

"Great Workstation if you have the time to learn it."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I like this product a lot. My only concern is that you can't just buy this thing and make good music. It will take time to learn how to utilize this thing to its full potential.
Sound
There are a lot of sounds and they all sound great. Effects are awesome too. I've never had another synth workstation before so I can't compare w/ the other competitors.
Features
This is all you need to create good music. Sequencing, Sampling, Synths, et... it has it all....I've had it for more than 4 months and I haven't even gone through all of the features yet.
Quality
I would have prefered if the top part of the synth was also metal. But overall it's not bad.
Value
It's an awesome deal for an all in one workstation. With the amount of soft synths/workstations out there, however, you may be able to save a lot more money and buy a fast computer and some software that can do the same job but 'real' equipement seems to be a lot more fun and maybe even a lot more credible.
Manufacturer Support
Not sure. Never had to use them and hope I never do. Registering was very easy online and there's some general material available online if that counts for anything.
The Wow Factor
It's one of the coolest looking synths out there.

"Only 16 tracks for $1,700+ !?!? Eeeehhhh"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Its ok i guess. I sold mine. We are moving into the software era, might as well accept it.
Features
only 16 tracks? Combinator sounds are really for live playing only because each sound within the combinator sound will take up 1 track when creating. Effects and so on are good.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use. If you have basic knowledge of music production you should pick it up pretty fast.
Quality
Very high quality. Everything is sturdy and solid.
Value
i will never pay 4 figures for a keyboard that only is capable of 16 tracks and has a whole bank of combinator sounds that can not even be used in sequence mode ever again.
Manufacturer Support
i haven't had to use it so i'm not sure.
The Wow Factor
very pretty machine.
