"this thing rules."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This thing does exactly what it does, exactly right. it's JUST a rhtym synth, but it is a super excellent one.
Sound
This machine has a really great range.
Features
The only feature that I don't like so far is the "original value" light. When you're editing a knob, and you want to get back to it's value before you started the tweak, just turn it to the angle at which the "original value" light turns on. However, due to the extreme precision of the knobs, this can sometimes feel like brain surgery as you zero in on the precise value. I would prefer an "original value" button-light, where you can just punch it to rollback a bad tweak.
Quality
This thing could take some serious wear and tear. Mine's brand new, so who knows?
Value
Yes BUT: Check the difference between the R and A models. I picked up the wrong one accidentally, but this thing is nifty and I'm going to keep it and have both. The A is the analog synth that I was looking for, and the R is the Rhythm synth that I had no idea I needed.
The Wow Factor
It's fun. If you have one of these, you no longer have to worry about clicking a mouse to punch in beats, and it's way cooler than a normal drum machine.

"this thing rocks"

I just got this and a microkorg. Within a few days I've been making the best music of my life and I've been making electronic music for over 20 years (might not be good, but I've been doing it a long time!). I'm using the korgs in mostly in conjunction with my Yamaha RM1X. These things breathed new life into my setup. If you have realistic expectations for what the electribe rmkII is, then you'll be very pleased. It's not a magic stand alone box, but a easy to use groovin analog style rhythm machine. Personal tastes differ, but I'm very pleased with this unit. As I said before, I initially thought the price a bit high, but it's worth it.
Sound
I love the sound of this unit. It's great for what it is - analog style percussion. Don't expect it to be a do-all drum machine, but it completly rocks out for electronic styles.
Features
Would have liked for it to be able to be powered by batteries. Also, it could have come with a soft case. Korg sells one, but it's way too expensive. Third party bags are reasonable. More dsp effects (reverb) would be nice, but unit sounds great just the way it is. Audio in features are cool.
Quality
Feels great - sturdy metal housing. Knobs feel good.
Value
At first I thought price was a bit steep and unit a bit limited in what it could do. After using it, the limitations don't bother me and I don't know how I did without it before. If you're on the fence - buy this before they stop making it. You won't be sorry.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't need it. Gave it a ten to be consistent with my other ratings.
The Wow Factor
I wouldn't necessarily think of this as 'sexy' but it reminds me more of something like R2D2. Great to have around and entertaining.

I'm actually thinking about buying a diffirent electribe that samples (if I had the money) because Im so happy with this one.
Sound
I think this product was made for dance music, but I use it for a bunch of other styles of music (experimental/hip hopish), and it works great. I've gotten many weird and interesting sounds out of it.
Quality
The metal casing seems extremly sturdy, and I havent thought about it breaking at all.
Value
I think with all the things you can do with this product it's worth the money
Manufacturer Support
Nothing has really gone wrong yet.
The Wow Factor
The red metal casing is really sexy!

"Anal-og bling thing thing to impress girls."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Features
This thing is not about features, i think, but it has everything u need to get started already, mind u: have at least headphones vith bigjack adaptor. It has only one effect(delay) and it is on master, it would be nicer if it was on send buss, so i could use in dub stuff. Reverb vould be nice. Only one output chanel:-( Can be controlled from midi, but only one param in time.
Quality
Its working as it goes, seems to be sturdy and tough enough.
Value
I had it for

"One of the Best Drum Machine/sequencer."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Korg is good with this stuff, but bad with parts.
Sound
This is one awesome drum machine...The beats are great for the buck. This has a decent array of drum sounds/beats, and is perfect for techno/industrial!
Features
Comes with the power supply...decent manual. Bag is sold seperatly for HOW MUCH? C'mon.
Quality
Bad knobs...very bad...like loose teeth. Feel like they could fall into chasis, or snap right off.
Value
Solid peice of gear. And at $270 (non sale price elsewhere, ex. my local retailer), its the best for the money...be easy on the knobs though.
Manufacturer Support
Eh...dont get me going...the last guy I dealt with was nice though.
The Wow Factor
I own a Zoom MRT-3 which synchs up nicely with my other electribes, and is dirt cheap ($89). This machine ER-1 is way better though, I just aint gonna sink the money.
