I have had this pedal for a few years now. I have never played the larger original version so I have nothing to compare it to. I play a lot of modern rock and metal so I use this with the treble turned up to help with low end flub when I play through a 7 string. It does make a lot of noise that way. But with a good gate pedal it does the job just fine.

The TS Mini operates and sounds very close to the Ibanez T808. A few minor differences to my ear. I use this as a boost. Drive 0, level 10, tone 5...as I always do a tube screamer. In this scenario the noise floor is very slightly louder than it's original incarnation. And a very slight bit more drive at zero setting. The Led is like a tube screamer is usually...dim and hard to see for some. Not a problem for me to see. But I've seen that gripe and can see why. It's transparent when off. It is sturdy and small. Adds that tight sound and kick in the pants that keeps me a tube screamer guy...still.

Just like the bigger pedal--great if you want a some clean boost, or to dirty it up a bit. Excellent pedal.

Running this screamer alone you will get hiss from it, but use a noise reducer and it works great. I use a Zoom MS-70CDR running the ZNR patch and all the hiss is removed. I run a peavey 6505 plus 112 combo which is a mid heavy amp to begin with this little screamer brightens up the tone in my opinion. Only had it one day so haven't had it long so still playing around with it, but with its size and the way it changes the sound of my amp I would recommend it. Half star on mf support haven't used it.Four stars on features and wow factor its a little box what more could they put in it lol.

This is BY FAR the noisiest pedal I have ever used. You couldn't get this much hiss with a shipping container full of reptiles. I gave this 2 stars on Quality based on the ruggedness of the enclosure. I think it would take several hammer blows to do any serious damage to it. I've been tempted, but I haven't tested this theory. The sound quality of the pedal would rate a brown dwarf star.... technically, 1 star, but it never amounted to much. The overdrive is not bad, but that's a moot point with all the noise. "The Wow Factor" gets 1 star because I said "Wow! That's awful!", and because I have to give a rating.
