I've tried a couple lower end Ibanez guitars, and there was no avail. Fretwork was shoddy, quality control problems, etc. But I decided to go for this one here, and let me tell you, it is nothing short of amazing. Ibanez Premium quality is truly premium. This guitar arrived perfectly set up, and ready to go. All I had to do was tune it a little bit. Free edges are balled beautifully, and perfectly level. No buzzing, anything. Finish, and overall craftsmanship is spot on. The bare wood wenge/bubinga neck is smooth, and lightning fast. Pickups are solid. The Dimarzio/Ibz pickups are good. DONT let any pickup nitpickers tell you otherwise. They get the job done. The Edge zero II tremolo is solid, and holds tune very well, with the stop bar in, and out. The zero point system is also very very cool. Simply turn the knob on the back to adjust the bridge level to keep it at zero point for best tuning stability. As opposed to unscrewing the back plate and cranking screws and adding/removing springs etc for any other tremolo. This guitar is great. It's a solid, wonderfully built instrument, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a high quality workhorse instrument.

I originally owned an RG920 in Violet, and completely loved it. I ended up having to sell it to finance a move, and I was absolutely heartbroken. I came across this and zzounds was just offering it at a deal I couldn't pass up. Mine required a little tweaking out of the box, just a tune up and a little adjustment on the trem, really nothing major. The guitar plays wonderful. The 920 actually had a finished neck, but I prefer the bare feel. The Dimarzio pickups are good, but the middle pickup does take from the gain and overall sustain. The 920 with dual hums had a little bit of a hotter sound, which I'll admit I preferred based on what I intended to use the guitar. Other than that, cosmetics are the only difference. The photos on this don't do the visuals justice. The finish is amazing, the neck compliments so nicely with it's dark quality. You can't go wrong with this beauty, but I would recommend checking out the dual hum configuration if you can before deciding to see which is more up your alley, because that single coil does have a pretty noticeable impact.
