"Excellent guitar at an excellent price!"

I won't be replacing this guitar anytime soon. I knew what I was getting and I'm glad I got it. I've got six guitars altogether and sought this one out specifically for its fast playing, aggressive rock sound and overall quality of workmanship at a price that can't be beat.
Sound
In its price range, the RG350DX is one of the best guitars out there. I've had a number of guitars over past 25 years or so, including several RGs, and am just as pleased with the new one as I was with the other ones. While it is not an all-in-one guitar that will give you the tone you need to play everything such as jazz, country, or vintage rock with authentic tone, it does respond very well to 80's hard rock and current metal styles. There are 5 different pickup configurations that offer moderate variance in tone, but not as much as you may find in older, heavier solid body guitars such as a Les Paul. The RG has a consistently brighter tone regardless of what pickup configuration you are playing with. However, that trait lends itself very well to capturing pitch harmonics nearly anywhere on the fretboard and a tone that cuts through the mix no matter what register you happen to be playing in. With a little adjustment on the tone controls from your amp or boards you will be able to get a nice clean tone that does not sound thin. The tone control on the guitar itself doesn't seem to allow the player enough on-the-fly adjustment for my preferences. However, playing through modeling amps and multi-effects units can more than make up for it. I have played mine pretty much as-is without many modifications. The only things I did to mine was install a Tremsetter and lower the action. The thin neck allows for very fast and smooth playing. I tend to do a lot of string bending but not a lot of dive-bomb whammy bar antics so I have never had a problem with it staying in tune. Bottom line: This is a great hard rock/heavy metal guitar at a great price. You won't be disappointed that you got it.
Features
5-position pickup selector for a variety of tone, thin neck for fast lead playing and effectless sweeping, floating bridge that stays in tune, comfortable to play. I give it a 9 instead of a 10 because I would like to see a little more tone control on the guitar itself.
Ease of Use
Very playable. Very comfortable to play extended periods of time.
Quality
Very durable and great craftsmanship. The guitar was shipped to me without a single blemish. The finish is beautiful and the hardware is solid. As far as dependability goes, I would definitely feel comfortable hauling it around if I was still playing the circuits.
Value
The quality far exceeds the price. This guitar plays like those priced twice as much.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with product support.
The Wow Factor
I don't know about how "sexy" it is, but I have always liked the look and feel of the RG line. I've had some fairly wild finishes on some of my guitars in the past, but the white finish and black hardware on this one give it a clean look that would not look out of place in any stage setting.

"Hot, sexy, and dirt cheap!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I would recommend this guitar to everyone who is looking for a nice shredder with all the bells and whistles, but still at a bargain price.
Sound
When i bought this guitar had read that the stock pickups were not the greatest, so was already planning on replacing them. When i got the guitar, however, i was quite surprised by the quality and fullness of the sound. The sinlge coil does tend to be a bit noisy, but the two humbuckers, especially the one in the bridge position, more than get the job done. This baby has great crunch, and is wonderful for soloing, with a high end that tears right through the distortion. While not the best by far, the sound of this guitar is quite good, and should be just fine for anyone to jam and gig with.
Features
One of the main reasons i got this gutar is because of its floyd rose trem and locking nut - both of which are excellent. The volume and tone knobs also feel very solid and the pickup selector is stable and seamless. No complaints here.
Quality
Everything about this guitar feels exceptionally well made. I was a little hesitant about the floyd rose but it does exactly what it should, and does it very well.
Value
For such a low price, this guitar is a steal. Floyd rose trem, awesome neck, oh-so-sexy looks, and nice tone for very little.
Manufacturer Support
No need for support.
The Wow Factor
Oh this is the sexiest guitar out there.

I expect to be satisfied with this guitar to come. If it is between this guitar and another one, or other couple for this price range, pick this. Great Sound, Great Quality, Great Look, and an Excellent guitar. Buy it!!!
Sound
Man what a sound. If you are a big Vai, or Satriani fan, this guitar will do you miracles. Also if you know how to doing locking trems.
Features
The Volume and Tone knob move with such precision it's sick. Also the pick-up selecter moves very well also.
Ease of Use
If you use a strat or any guitar that has more of "C" neck, it will take a while to get used to it. The neck feels like a slimmer "D" neck shape. Made for putting your thumb on the back of the neck, and just shredding like a mad man.
Quality
Mine came out of the box perfect. Great white finish, and the shark-tooth inlays are pretty neat.
Value
This guitar is so well worth 400$. Fender Stratocasters are my favorite guitars, I have 9 of them, but Ibanez could possibly change that.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed to call yet.
The Wow Factor
SEXY WHITE. It is a beautiful guitar. The white finish, black hard-ware and the shark-tooth inlays make this sexy and wonderful.

"My Ibanez RG350DX "Voodoo Azul" guitar!!!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I am satisfied with this guitar. I only whould sell some other guitar and get a black one and set it up with Satriani pickups, hmmm? The guitar is great and I can get rock, metal, punk and great clean sounds. If it was lost I would replace it with the same guitar. I love the white color, pickup set up and neck/body. I would like a chrome hardware option.
Sound
With the h-s-h set up you get choices and thats great. Construction of the guitar is solid which also aides in the sound. I though am changing the Humbuckers to Dimarzio's because I love their pickups. I am putting in Vai's Evo's because I played the Jem and love the pickups. stock wise Clean is awesome and with the fourth position on the switch sounds like and amped acoustic. With distortion channel on and in the 5th position solo runs sound like satin smooth.
Features
Neck is flat, smooth and fast. Can really help people become a more accurate player. PLUS the contoured area of the neck/body is awesome to reach high notes and again be accurate. Plus love the pickup combo. Ibanez really puts guality in their guitars. Only thing like everone else is the loose whammy bar. (to cure it I put ceran wrap around the bar where it goes in "1/4 inch" and heat it up with a blow dyer so it will wrap around it tighter, it adds some friction, but have to replace after a while). Plus I wish it had a Chrome hardware option.
Ease of Use
Again the neck is awesome. Flater, wider and will take time but improve your playing. So gave it a nine only because if you switch from a Fender or Gibson or really anything you have to adjust to the difference. But the difference is great. Plus simple switch, volume and tone, doesnt get easier than that. Changing strings is typical of a double locking. Do one string at a time!
Quality
With the tremelo bridge you get quality even with a loose whammy bar. More of a design problem than manufacturing. I NEVER had a problem with the tuners, locking system, trem bridge, knobs or neck. Simply well built without the over the top price. Only problems I have ever heard of Ibanez guitars is the knobs not being on all the way, or at least loose. So maybe some are built in a rush at the factory. I would with any guitar go through and ask your local guitar store to go through tightening/setting up your new investment. They will do it because they want to sell their products.
Value
Shelling out $400 bucks is nothing for this guitar. Best way I know of getting something close to a Vai Jem without paying the price.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to need support. But I did look up on wiring schemes for the Jem77v and they had it online. Which will help me set it up like the one I tried out and get the performance I liked.
The Wow Factor
Love the look of the white one with the Rosewood neck. Like to see a chrome hardware option. The maple neck one just looks wrong with the black shark tooth inlay, but thats just me. But the looks are great and again Dimarzio has some cool pickup/knobs color choices to spice it up. Ibanez stock though looks really good. Love the pearl white pickguard. Like to see trus rod cover match the pickguard. Like to see Ibanez throw in a Monkey Grip and market it as a cheaper Jem.

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Solid guitar for rock, metal, blues or instrumental (Vai, Satriani, Petrucci, etc.)
Sound
The infinity pickups offer a solid sound. Good tone and good variations of sound on the combinations, switch selector on positions 2 or 4. The only difference between the two humbuckers is that one has more treble than the other - it's brighter. Great blues and rock sounds, including metal if needed. Good response to picking.
Features
It is solid with features. It would be nice to have a coil splitting option to one of the humbuckers, but the single coil takes care of that.
Ease of Use
Plug and play.
Quality
Well made with solid fret job and great workmanship. Right from the store with no finish flaws or fret miscues.
Value
Worth every penny. Great price for this quality.

"Awesome Workhorse at a Super Price! Sexy, fun and sounds great in any situation."

Sound
I have heard a lot of negative comments on and off regarding the Ibanez INF pickups and frankly do not know why. I owned an RG 420 and loved the guitar except for the lack of a single hum. I love getting that "watery" out of phase strat sound for rhythm. The RG350 get this with with the selector in the 4th position. For clean bluesy sounds, crunch and rhythm, I really love the way this guitar performs.
Features
Made in Indonesia under the careful eye of Ibanez quality control. You CANNOT beat this guitar for the price. I got mine at Sam Ash for $349.00 USD on sale. Added a softshell hybrid case for $59.00 and I was on my way. The volume and tone knobs are tight yet smooth, the whammy bar can be adjusted but I like to grab mine at random not have it stuck in place...easy fix. Just lift up the tremolo system and tighten the screw. Switch selector is smooth and quiet and the Edge 3 system is easy to adjust once you get the hang of it. It does take some tweaking of the springs and string stretching. There are a lot of good videos out on the internet if you have little to no experience. I recommend 10-46's on these. I use Dean Markley Blue Steel (as does Steve Vai) as they hold up for a long time and are consisten. D'Addario 10's are great too!
Ease of Use
Jazz to Blues to Metal. Select the pickups you want, combined with the effects of your choice and voila! I play in a 10 piece horn band doing everthing from Chicago to Gloria Estefan and this guitar proves itself.
Quality
For $400 bucks? Are you kidding me? This guitar plays as well as those I have tested and compared side by side costing $1200 and up. I kept slapping myself up the head trying to figure out why it was so cheap. I have several Ibanez guitars and this one ROCKS!
Value
Best guitar value for the money...plain and simple.
Manufacturer Support
No need.
The Wow Factor
Extremely sexy! Great white finish and awesome pickguard. Just as sexy as the Vai Jemm model without the goofy Monkey Grip!

I will probably Love this guitar for ever. It is absolutely awesome sound, looks, and everything!
Sound
I play metal and this thing is AWESOME for metal. Sounds great when I play rhythms and sounds great when I play some lead stuff.
Features
I am dissapointed when it comes to features. The whammy bar doesn't screw in, and I am a big tremolo guy so this makes me mad. Other than that everything is pretty standard
Ease of Use
REALLY EASY TO PLAY! super fast neck, so really fun to play around really fast.
Quality
Made very well, durable (except for my strings, thats not the guitar though, just me =D) I believe it would be great on the road too.
Value
Amazing price. only 400 dollars for this thing?!?! I was flippin out! its easy to play and its a great guitar for only 400 dollars

Ease of Use

"got guitar ?"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
i will never get rid of this one, what i like the best is i payed next to nothing for a quality axe and i was not dissapointed. i already had a rg series ibanez but i wanted different pickups with a different sound and i hit a homerun with the inf3,inf3s and inf4. if you are looking for a great buy, dont pass it up cause if you ever pick one up at a friends house to play, and you cannot get one anymore, you will be sorry beyond belief.
Sound
this guitar can give you whatever you want, including great sound at any pickup configuration. also the harmonics are everywhere, a beginner can sound like joe satriani. i also have a rg420sbk with the vin7 and vin8 pickups, but this rg350dx with the infinity pickups {hsh} is the best ibanez i have ever played and heard hands down.
Features
the low profile edge pro bridge and the wizzard 11 neck combine to become the most easiest playin guitar, it should be illegal.the inf4 in the bridge position is a screamer, and the inf3s in the middle is awesome for leads; almost blackmore like. not to mention the cosmetics, great eye candy.
Ease of Use
i dont think any guitar player would ever want to put this one down, the playability is unbelievable, even my picking hand is most comfortable.
Quality
these guitars will last a lifetime if you are one that takes care of your toys. i only wish every guitar came with its own case.one does not have to play it long to feel that this axe is all quality, i say feel because you have to play it to understand.
Value
you will never get a guitar with this much quality for what the price is set at, if you ask me, they could charge what a gem costs and still get your moneys worth
Manufacturer Support
i only give support a 5 because ive never had to use it, thus making a 5 a fair grade.
The Wow Factor
this guitar is so sexy it should come with a chapperone, fits like a glove but id rather put a dress on it

"I like it!"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
My gut feeling is that I will probably keep this one forever and just mod it as the urge hits me.
Sound
I'm reviewing this without having played it for more than an hour. For what little time I have had with it, I like it a lot. It sounds Ibanez and I have a feeling I will love it more the longer I have it.
Features
Controls are precise and well done. There's is not a feature on this guitar that I have a problem with.
Ease of Use
Plug it in and play. It came out of the box set up pretty nice. Stretch the strings and tune it, play, tune it, play, tune it and it plays NICE. The D neck is different than I am used to but I like it.
Quality
Here's where I have a problem. I would have thought the build quality would have been much better. Things that I have noticed in the first hour are: Neck bolt holes have pimply paint (not a big deal but noticeable), the pickguard is lifted on both sides of the neck and doesn't fit against the body (needs to be sanded and widened), fret edges and binding are not completely smooth, and parts of the headstock aren't finished as smooth as I would expect. That being said, these things aren't enough to upset me too much. the body itself is SOLID and well finished. The black hardware is sweet. The neck inlays are nice as well.
Value
I'd say it's easily worth the price even though it wasn't "perfect".
Manufacturer Support
Haven't used them yet.
The Wow Factor
I love the way it looks. It is definitely a good looking guitar.

"Excellent guitar for the price!"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
The stock pickups were surprisingly good. But nonetheless I can't give them a 10 since I plan to replace them with some DiMarzios :P
Features
The 5 way selector with the tone knob (which make a huge difference) make for a very wide variety of sounds. And the locking trem seems to be working great so far.
Ease of Use
I'm giving this a 7 since it is a mass-produced factory made guitar which comes with some downfalls. The action was a little high and there was quite a bit of fret buzz on the low E after lowering it to my standards and a couple dead frets on the high E. After paying $50 at the local shop these problems were fixed. Other than that the neck is GREAT, very smooth and fast. Of course there are the normal problems involved with any floating trem (changing string gauge, tuning is a little more complex after adding new strings, etc) but that is expected and it seemed to work exactly the way it should.
Quality
Aside from the factory problems described above this is an amazing guitar. The finish was perfect and it looks WAY better in person!
Value
Definitely worth the price.
The Wow Factor
I highly advise spending a few dollars at the local shop to get things set up (unless you are an expert yourself). Which is pretty much expected when you get a guitar straight out of the box. But aside from that this is an awesome guitar that I will plan on having for years to come.

I will buy other guitars. Ibanez will be my first choice, but I will not replace this guitar unless I have to. Then it will be another just like it
Sound
I bought this with only a month of experience. That was a little soon. I couldnt play enough to tell the difference. The more I learn the more it stands out. I rarely touch my other three guitars now. Once you get it in tune to stay it plays great. I have not found any guitar around this price even close. It sounds good on anything but really stands out on rock.

"A Great Instrument At A Exceptional Price!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Great Instrument!
Sound
First off, the sound on this guitar is great! It features 2 humbucker infinty pickups (One in the bridge and one at the neck) and 1 single coil infinity pickup in the middle. This is great if you want to be doing split-coil tones. It is a really versatile system. However, don't expect them to sound like DiMarzios or EMG'S. The pickups are ibanez stock and if you have money to spare I would change.
Features
The guitar sports a wizard maple 2 neck, and edge 3 tremolo system, 3 pickups, an RG style shape, a pearl pickguard, and a locking nut.In reality it is a very simple set-up that works. However, I have noticed that the edge 3 bridge is one of Ibanez's more ceap bridges and should be treated with caution as if you have not set-up your guitar correctly it could become your worst nightmare! Besides this however, you get what you get which is just amazing!
Ease of Use
The neck is super fast! This is one of the best necks that I have evr played on. The actio is low and so is the price for value!
Quality
The product is made in Indonesia unlike Ibanez prestige models. This is not really an issue as the wood quality and build is incrediable compared to other models of the same price! The wood is a simple basswood which is quite common for ibanez RG production line models. The edge 3 bridge is slightly unstable. If I was the production designer of this product I would defiantely change or make this a much better system! It feels slightly cheap but is also not bad for price. Still, I would warn you to set-up your system before even expecting to start playing Vai or VH licks!Overall, The Instrument is Great for it's price and I recomend it to anyone looking for a simple guitar for under 1000 dollars!
Value
It is certainly worth it's price.
Manufacturer Support
I have not contacted Ibanez so this is not applicable.
The Wow Factor
The Guitar looks beautifull and has a pearl pickguard. Therefore, it is automatically WOW!

"honest review (i own one)"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
i never thot i could fine this good a guitar for this little cah, its awsome, nuff said
Sound
this guitar has the newest ibanez infinity pick-ups... hey, not evryone can put down alot of cash for great pick-ups, but these are really great pickups considering they come stock, great output, great harmonics, over all kick butt sound!!!
Features
it comes with a floyd rose, wizard II neck (2cm thicker than the fastest ibanez neck), its has a nut lock (keeping the strings in tune), 2 infinity 3&4 humbuckers (neck & bridge), 1 infinity 3 strat style pickup, bolt on neck, 1 volume, 1 tone knob, rosewood fretboard its awsome, comes with all the tools you need to set it up to your liking.
Ease of Use
it kinda takes some getting used to, especially if you havn't had a floyd before, but once you get that set, it can take one heck of a beating!!!! Abuse and reuse!!!! and it will stay in tune, the guitar itself is alot easier to play because of its super fast (thin) neck.
Quality
as i said, it can take a real good beating, its preactically flawless, no defects or loose parts, its awsome.
Value
i have never seen such a great deal on a brand new guitar, honestly, i would have paid alot more for it, great feeling to hold it and play it, and a great feeling to know your pocket wont be empty
Manufacturer Support
i had this specially shipped from ibanez in california, they wer great, great support and they work real fast
The Wow Factor
it is real sexy, its got sharp ends on the body and head stock, great color, i got the white one, less polishing needed, it looke exactly like the Ibanez Jem of steve vai just with out the monkey grip and vine inlay, i love the shark tooth inlay, i honestly considered this guitar for the looks, but i bought it for the feel and sound

"Great value for money. Great for metalheads."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I wont replace this product i love this guitar. If it were stolen i would replace it but i have many guitars and would replace any of them.
Sound
The sound on this guitar for for of a metal or rock type is simply amazing i love mine its a great guitar. As for clean it sounds great but compared to a strat or something of the sort not as good. but when the OD is on it blows anything out of the water.
Ease of Use
It's really just like any other guitar use wise. The neck may take some getting used to as it is wider
Quality
i have never had a problem with this guitar yet and probably wont ever have one.
Value
Very well worth the money maybe even a bit under priced in my opinion
Manufacturer Support
Have not dealt with the support. No reason to.
The Wow Factor
The look of this guitar is a big part of the reason for buying it. i mean the shark tooth inlays the beautiful white with black PUPS and hardware this guitar is truly a beaut

"Awesome guitar, VERY easy to play!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
this guitar is soo cool, i love the awesome rhythm sounds you can get out of it (i play rhythm) and for my measly fills I can get a nice lead tone out of the bridge humbucker, i loved it. the thing i liked least about it was the whammy bar, its not that big of a deal, but it kinda popped out once or twice while i was messing with it. im sure if you dont go insane with it, its alright.
Sound
first of all i havnt been playing for very long, maybe 8-9 months, but iv owned a Fender squire and a SG copy JayTurser, and i like those two on my Cube 20x amp. But out of boredom I went to my local guitar shop, saw this guitar, and had to play it. I plugged it into a Cube 30X and i was just amazed, i play rock mostly stuff like black sabbath and such, and i just love the distortion i got out of it, bridge is awesome for solo's in my opinion and the neck humbucker is pretty good for rhythm. I turned on the acoustic simulator on the amp, with the neck pick up on, and i could have sworn i was playing an acoustic! couldnt tell the difference
Features
im used the 4 knobs on my SG look-alike and i guess the 1 volume and tone on this one kinda made me feel weird, i liked the sound i got, but it wasnt perfect for me, im sure if i bought it and messed with it for a day or two i'd love it even more. And the whammy is kinda weird, it doesnt screw in, it kinda just pokes in there. Not much of a problem for me cause im not very crazy with my tremolo anyways..
Ease of Use
very very nice neck, flat, and the well spaced strings. very easy to play, chording and lead is so so very easy and comfortable on this guitar, body is comfortable. really nice
Quality
well i dont own it, iv only played it, but surprisingly the shop owner let me borrow a strap for a bit and i liked it alot, nice weight to it, not too heavy. I loved the finish white with black hardware is just really nice to me. I dread my black finish choices on my other guitars because i realized how easy it is to see finger prints ect. I loved it
Value
I think its very worth it, $400 for this guitar is extremely reasonable you can get such a good sound out of it for such a low price. (compared to a $1000+ gibson or $900 Strat)
Manufacturer Support
I just played it at the shop.
The Wow Factor
i love the look of this guitar its so so nice. black and white, great color combination for this guitar.

"If you want the best Ibanez can offer w/out paying for a Jem..."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I plan on putting it in my will.
Sound
I bought a RG350DX as my first electric, and it's still my best! I'm planning on upgrading to a Jem7 soon, but if you want to play a good instrument for a good price, get an RG. The sound is great!
Features
The RG350DX has everything you need- uber-thin neck, floyd rose tremelo, sexy looks, and a nice assortment of pickups and switching.
Quality
Good quality, not the best materials- but if you want that, go by a JS1200 or a Jem7.
Value
Yes!

I haven't needed to contact Ibanez.

"The Best Axe EVER - Don't Change Anything!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
This is my top axe right now. I have a Les Paul, and Ibanez RG570 and tree Fender Stratocasters. I value this guitar right up there with my American Stratocaster which costs twice as much as this wonderful instrument.
Sound
DO NOT CHANGE THE PICKUPS!!! I can't stress this enough. This guitar sounds absolutely amazing. I am well known for swapping out pickups, but in this case it is entirely unnecessary. Ibanez has engineered these pickups and their sonic value in conjuntion with the basswood body and overall density of this build. The sound through a nice distortion pedal gives me a sound I have searched for for a very long time. The sound in a clean channel is also very sweet on all accounts. I want to reiterate again: KEEP THE STOCK PICKUPS! Too many of us get hung up on the idea that stock pickups are not good and that we need to run out and get Duncans or Dimarzios to make things right. That is a fallacy brought on by clever marketing and stubborn thinking. It's an illusion that will compromise the sound of this guitar and make you waste money.
Features
The guitar came with all the wrenches necessary to adjust the Floyd Rose trem and the locking nut. It features a "strat-like" body and an unbelievably thin Wizard II neck and an Edge III bridge with a nice tremolo arm that snaps in instead of screwing in. The guitar stays in tune for a VERY long time, despite a lot of bend on the whammy bar.
Ease of Use
The tin neck and overall sculpting of the body make it so easy to play. The neck in particular is a real work of art and just feels naturally easy to play.
Quality
There are absolutely no flaws in the manufacturing of this product!
Value
For $400 this is a STEAL!!!!
Manufacturer Support
No need for support yet.
The Wow Factor
Just looka at it! The pictures don't even do justice. Go to a store and hold it, play it, you'll see how appealing it is.

"One of the best guitars you'll ever own"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
This guitar has an excellent sound. It plays cleans well, but everybody knows it's meant for metal, and that's where it really shines. No complaints here whatsoever.
Features
The guitar comes with all the standard stuff: the manual (in about 10 different languages), a solid cable, and a set of hex keys for any maintenance you might need to do. There wasn't anything too special... although I really loved the tag they affixed to the neck that showed the signatures of everybody at the factory that inspected the guitar itself- that's pretty cool when you see it.
Ease of Use
It's very playable. The Wizard neck is bloody fast, to the point you'll wonder how you ever played those 5-string sweeps without it before.
Quality
The guitar seems just as durable as any other guitar. All the parts are solidly attached and it doesn't look a day older than when I got it 6 months ago.
The Wow Factor
The RG models all look really good, but the 350DX really stands out in my opinion. My favorite color is black, but I decided to choose the DX instead of the MDX because the white, brushed pick guard looks just awesome on the white body with black hardware. It truly looks incredible. Somebody actually told me today that it looks like one of the older JEM models but better, because it doesn't have the monkey grip. Never has a white guitar fit in so well with the black metal it was meant to play.

"BUY A FENDER TREMSETTER!!!!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Great Guitar. Not recommended for guitarists who do not like customizing thier own guitars. I highly recommend anyone who's looking forward to getting this guitar to be prepared to BUY A TREMSETTER for its Edge Pro II system. its like 30-40 bux and its well worth it. Once its in you're pretty much done. You've got yourself a great guitar with really good quality for its price. If you don't like customizing and screwing around with your guitar then maybe this guitar isn't for you, but if you wanna save money you really should consider to.
Sound
I'm not very picky with the way this guitar sounds but it does have a really good overdrive when you turn the knob to the max. It probably could be better if u replace the pickups with better ones, but as I said, I'm not that picky so its all good.
Features
Came with a cable to get you going fast. The Edge Pro system which got its patent off the Floyd Rose is pretty good if you like Floyd Rose Tremolos. If you don't like tuning your guitar ever so often after bending those strings or using the whammy bar, then you should consider getting yourself a Fender Tremsetter to stabalize the back springs of the tremolo and never have to worry about those kinds of things. Other then that, it has everything you need to play hard rock.
Quality
Nice guitar finish. Came covered in plastic to protect everything the moment it comes out of the box. Stock strings aren't all that though. The 6th string E was very flimsy and rattled a lot when you stroke it. But some people may prefer loose strings. So I give it a 9.
Value
For a guitar that looks really expensive, it's not. It's got an ok tremolo system that needs a stabalizer, it wouldn't hurt to get better pickups, it's stock strings aren't that all great, but fixing everything that keeps this guitar from being near perfect is A LOT cheaper then just buying a 1000+ Dollar guitar. Great Value.
Manufacturer Support
It has a 1 year insurance plan. That's good enough. Never had a problem with the guitar yet so it doesn't really bother me. The Ibanez website is pretty hard to navigate compared to other sites.
The Wow Factor
I've looked all over the web before buying an electric and every time I always went back to this one. Therefore... I wanted it and got it.

"Nice guitar, but support non-existent."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Plan on keeping for a while. Built solid. Don't let the "Made in Korea" tag fool you. I suggest trying out an Edge Pro II trem in a music store if you can before purchasing. It might change your mind about it.
Sound
Think of my number as a percentage. 80%. That means a B in my book. Now I will tell you why. For cheaper stock pickups, they are not all that bad. Bridge can be slightly muddy when on clean settings, but I plan on replacing it with a Dimarzio Evolution. Single coil also not bad, and debuting at this point whether I will replace it or not. Neck pickup is decent, but I seldom use it anyhow so it will not be replaced.
Features
Has the Wizard II neck with white bindings, all black hardware (very cool look), all white (my favorite part) with a white perloid pickguard, very comfortable contours, and the new tremolo system is very good to. It floats though, so just remember that you have to be patient when tuning and to make sure to block the trem when changing strings. The Edge Pro II trem is very smooth and if the strings are properly stretched will not throw the guitar out of tune.
Quality
Nothing is ever made perfect. Factory set-up was in fact very good (very surprised by that.) Action was pretty low, and could easily be lowered. Even if you have a $2,000 guitar, you would be an idiot not to gig without a backup. You never know when a string might break or a pickup might fail, whatever. Quality of the parts is excellent though, they should last a very long time.
Value
Great value for the money.
Manufacturer Support
Never dealt with the company, but you cannot find a phone number or an email to contact them. Visit www.ibanezrules.com for any troubleshooting you may have. Very good website, it will probably answer most of your questions.
The Wow Factor
I wanted to for the all-white. Very attractive.

"The reviews don't lie. Don't think, buy."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I think I'll keep this guitar around a long time, so soon and I'm already in love.
Sound
Only had it for a couple days, but right out of the box, the reviews don't lie. The stock pickups sound amazing, they're meant for metal & hard rock. Played alot of Deftones when i got it, to give you a comparison. The more distortion, the better the sound.
Features
One volume, one tone knob, 5-way pickup selector, you can pull up on the whammy, double locking trem[decent floyd rose], stock strings are D'addario.. Comes with a cable, manuals, whammy, and tools to tune, etc.
Ease of Use
Tune, plug, play. Have good overdrive available. Tuning isn't a nuisance, but you do have to tune it alot.. if you don't mind that, then you're good to go. Personally, it's my first floyd rose, and it didn't take long to get used to. I don't mind tuning it. Takes all of 5 minutes max.
Quality
Looks extremely sturdy, stock pickups are great, but I do plan on following the advice of everyone I see and changing the pickups.. I love the contrast of the black and white, looks even better in person. Shark tooth inlays are great. 24 frets.. what more could you ask for?
Value
It's more than a $400 guitar. I don't know too much about values of guitars, but this is no cheap or below average guitar. Not even close.
Manufacturer Support
I'll play Ibanez religiously. I've never dealt with the company. 10 anyways.
The Wow Factor
The only guitar I'll put far ahead of this is the Wes Borland signature Yahama.

had it 2 years, no probs so far
Sound
It ROCKS, bought it with the idea to hotrod it, NO NEED, so i found out, for a budget range the sound is unbelievable, fell in love with it straight away.
Features
the only thing that would make it better is if it had a case with it, but hey , 24 frets on a real good neck, 2 way locking trem, HSH p ups, what more do you want??? possibly better p ups, but not essential, i havent bothered yet.
Ease of Use
Simple, straight forward, self explanitry ops to any1 who knows a good guitar, i found it easy to get used to after a strat
Quality
when i had it the locking nut wasn't screwed in properly so had a little tuning instability, tightened the screws and havent had a problem since, seems to be handling regular gigging really well, if your thinking of buying 1, dont think, buy
Value

"Best Looking RG Ever!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
This guitar has pretty damn decent tone, right out of the box! I am upgrading the pups with a DiMarzio Evolution for the bridge, and a PAF Pro for the neck, but that's just me. I still like the tone of the original pups, but was time for a change.
Features
I hated the Edge Pro floating bridge at first,(used to Strats before), but now I love/hate it! lol It just takes a little effort to familirize yourself with the nuances of a floating bridge, but once you've got those down, and remember to STRETCH YOUR STRINGS!! you will be fine. Still takes awhile, (the hate part), but worth it.
Ease of Use
The Wizard neck is FANTASTIC! I love it! I pick up my Strat and it feels like I'm holding a baseball bat! This neck is the number one reason I bought this guitar.
Quality
A little ding on the fretboard, but nothing major. Looks beautiful. I think it's the nicest looking RG in the Tremolo series!
Value

"rock and metal"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
ibanez makes best rock guitars in the market but in the same time they lose many customers because of short choice of finishes. i would prefer this particular RG350DX with mirror pickguard. the white one is great guitar, sort of distantly resembling jem 555. and one more thing - factory setup was disgusting, still - the price paid and time invested for configuration is a very small fee for this fine instrument
Sound
an average sound for RG series, but INF pups can scream, cry and weep if you want. I got familiar with this guitar in less than a week having been a player of jackson guitars. Still, I would prefer this indonesian RG350 over, let's say, japanese RG570, INFs seem not so muddy as V pups to me
Features
to my knowledge, edge III does not wear out as fast as edge pro. i wish the hardware and pups were white/silver or other colors, the same applies to ibanez's weak choice of colors for finishes
Ease of Use
it took me three days to setup the axe to my taste. factory springs are nightmare. but after a bit of config you can go
Quality
everthing is very solid except tremolo springs which live their own lives to their liking, should change them
Value
for the price - you cannot beat !

Features
i really like this guitar. im going to buy it soon. i really like the pickups in this guitar. the pickups in my ibanez starter pack are pretty good but arent great at sustaining notes and harmonics. i play metal and i love stuff like children of bodom and pantera! i love the sound of this guitar.
Ease of Use
it is great with distortion. it sounds best to me when i use a tube amp. it sounds great with other amps also but tube amp are more my style. ibanez have always been easy to play for me. they are such great guitars and are the only ones ill play.
Quality
this is a great overall guitar! i dont know what else to say! there are no loose parts or damages to the guitar. it is very reliable. ive had some trouble with my old ibanez. the pickups are giving me some trouble but its held up great!

I own a Gibson SG Standard, and this thing really rocks at clean or at any effect. Even thoght I have that Gibson that's supposely better I want to buy this guitar. This one really rocks!!!
Features
Well don't know much about it, but I look at it only being white, and his good humbucker & coils sounds. I just went in love with it!

I've already begun searching. What I like least about it? -it's cheap.
Sound
It sounds pretty good allthough it has stock pickups. I my self changed them with EMG 81/85 it sounds great with it.
Ease of Use
It is very playable but not the best.
Quality
It is not of high quality. The action is not low enough partly becouse the neck was NOT completely straight! (In my case) The bridge is not good.

The RG came with the basic stuff, manual some extra parts, some tools and a cable, its basicallywhat you need to maintain it.
Ease of Use
This guitar is very easy to use, i listen to alot of metal and real heavy into Mr. Vai, found that you could easily come close to the same sound as him with the right effect pedals(Bad Hosie wah, Ds-1, digitech Wh-1 whammy) its actually pretty cool lol.
Quality
Well this being my first electric, as far as i can tell the guitar is made pretty tight, i bought this guitar from this site as a blemish guitar, when i got it, i cant seem to find anything wrong lol looks great! nice color, cool shark tooth inlay, just a beautiful instrument.
Value
I think at this price, this RG model is well worth it, its a nice beautiful sounding guitar, well worth it.
Manufacturer Support
Havent had any problems just yet.
The Wow Factor
The guitar just looks awesome! looks way better in person, WAAAAAAAAY BETTER!!! real classy look and design, everything accents each other.

"GOOD AND BAD"

QUALITY At first glance, this is a beautiful guitar. But closer inspection reveals a ton of quality short-cuts and flaws. When you remove the back plate to expose the tremolo springs, you'll see that the tremolo isn't centered in the hole causing one set of springs to dig into the side of the body. Some of the screws that hold the back plate on were put in at an odd angle making them impossible to be flush. Also, the pick guard isn't mounted flush against the body. In some places, you could almost push a heavy gauge pick the guard and the body. The place where the pick guard runs between the tremolo and back pickup rainbows up possibly because the mounting holes do not line up. Worse of all, the whammy bar just slides into its hole into the tremolo. There is no locking mechanism, nut, or anything to KEEP it in that hole. Every guitar that I have owned with a tremolo AT LEAST had something to keep the whammy bar from falling out. It screwed in, or something. Not this one. The volume and tone knobs rub against the pick guard when they are turned. You have to pull them out and away from the body. The neck is very slim, and that is a good thing. However, the satin finish is rough and FAR from smooth. It is as if no one even bothered to sand the bare neck before finishing it. You can feel flaws in the neck when playing. EASE OF USE As far as playability, it's okay. All of the flaws mentioned above kind of overshadow anything else. Every single string BUZZES starting about the 5th fret but I can adjust this out but it is aggravating, none the less. And as mentioned earlier, the tremolo is going to be a huge problem for anyone that actually plans on maximizing that particular capability. The whammy bar will just become a nuisance. Also, while playing recently, I noticed that the whammy bar at times will strike the volume knob and the pickup rocker switch.

"Go ahead and buy it, you will not be dissapointed."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
For the money, it's hard to beat this guitar. I looked at guitars in the 3 to 5 hundred dollar range for about 6 months before I bought this Ibanez. It seems that there are unlimited choices for that kind of money, but bang for the buck, you would be hard pressed to find a better guitar for the money. No, it's not an American Gibson, or Fender Strat, but it's also about 5 times less exspensive. If, like me, you want a great (not perfect) guitar and are on a budget (wife, kids, house, car, etc.) this is a great choice.
Sound
I have owned 5 other guitars and this by far is the best sounding guitar I have owned, bar none. Nice clear distortion with a lot of balls. The neck pick up through no distortion is simply amazing.
Features
I was a little unsure about the tremolo system as I have read that many other owners have either hated it or loved it. I still have a little trouble with it staying in tune, but the fine tuners do an excellent job of putting it right back in tune. So far the lock nut has not given me not even the least bit of trouble. The volume and tone knobs move with the precision of a much more exspensive instrument. The pick up selector switch also seems to be of high quality.
Quality
Except for some rough edges around the holes where the body bolts to the neck, my guitar came out of the box pretty much flawless. The paint is perfect and the inlays on the neck are done very nicely. Fit and finish is of a standard not usually found on guitars in this price range.
Value
I was very close to buying a jackson JS 20 that was a litte less exspensive. (It's a shame what fender has done to the the Jackson name) Hearing both guitars through the same amp sealed the deal. The Ibanez is just a much better instrument, hands down.
Manufacturer Support
So far I've had no problems that require any customer support. The dealer where I bought it set it up perfectly to my playing style.
The Wow Factor
Yes this guitar will get you noticed. It does look like a "jem". The white paint and black contrasting hardware is pure eye candy.

I guess you get what you pay for. I was very disapointed with this guitar. 6 months and it went bye-bye!
Sound
Neck and mid pu's are ok for stock pu's, better for cleans, the bridge pu should be replaced, very muddy no tone. This guitar needed a set up badly. The frets and trem buzzed badly.
Features
Stunning appearance for the price. The 3 pickup array with a 5 way switch provides a variety of tones. The Edge II trem and lock nut are nice when they work. One of the fine tuners on mine was stripped, so the low E is always out of tune.
Quality
The fit and finish are great. The inlays look nice, and the binding was straight and even. Needed a set up, the action was way to high. When you use the trem the neck and lock nut creak and rattle badly. It sounds like the neck might snap, not good. As I mentioned the low E fine tuner was stripped, so staying in tune was always an issue.
Value
For the price it looks great, sounds ok, but the Edge trem leaves a lot to be desired. Don't buy this on looks alone.
Manufacturer Support
I reported my trem issues to the dealer I purchased the guitar from as well as Ibanez. I received no satisfaction with either. Ibanez has yet to get back to me. Too late, I sold it.
The Wow Factor
I wanted a versatile, good looking, cheap Floyd Rose equipped guitar, but this wasn't it. After 6 months I sold it.

"A few faults yes, but not enough to say no to"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

If it were not for the edge II trem system, I would give it a 10. Other that that, it really is a brilliant instrument. Played through a decent amp, the thing just kicks ass. It seems to sound better when played louder. (maybe that's just me) I would reccomend this guitar to anyone who has played around with a Floyd Rose type bridge for a few years. Definately not for some one just starting out.
Sound
I would reccomend changing the factory strings before it ever leaves the store where you bought it. Put some .10's on it. You'll really be glad you did. It changes the sound of this guitar immensely.
Features
Edge II system is a little suspect. Staying in tune is difficult.
Quality
Fit and finish are very, very good. Paint was smooth and free of defects. The inlays on the fret board are nicely done. Every thing fits as it should. No "cheesy-ness" what so ever
Value
I looked at many guitars in this price range before I bought this Ibanez. Most of them offer roughly the same kind of equipment for the same kind of price. Each time I looked at something else, I always came back to this guitar. It just seemed like more for the money compared to anything else in this price range.
Manufacturer Support
cant say any thing good or bad. Have not yet had to use them. The shop where I bought it can go suck eggs though. They wanted to send it away for 2 weeks to set it up the day I bought it.
The Wow Factor
I really can't give a 10 here because I really wanted a Jackson JS 30 and probably would have bought one but each one I looked at had some issue with it. (paint chips scratches, etc) It really does look like a Steve Vai "jem" though and that's cool enough for me.

"It will be mine."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I love everything about this guitar.
Sound
This thing sounds great, especially for metal. It sounds especially great when distortion is turned on.
Features
The whammy works great, and its not too loose. It's shiny white pick gaurd adds effect and everything on it works great.
Ease of Use
I do not know how to play much guitar, so when I was at my local Juneau Alaska retailer, I found this guitar. So I picked it up, the guy showed me some cords and licks, and right away I knew this thing would be a breeze to learn on and use.
Quality
It's very sturdy and really built well. My friend keeps bragging about his awesome les paul but playing that guitar as opposed to this one is just not a good experience. This one feels like it could last forever.
Value
This guitar should probably be worth more than it is. It sounds and feels great. I love it.
Manufacturer Support
Ibanez is a great company. What else is there to say?
The Wow Factor
I already explained its awesomeness.

"I like it, try it out."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
The main reason I give it a ten is because the price. I'm not gonna say a great guitar for the price. This is a great price for a great guitar. It easily is one of the best sounding guitars out there for less than $1000, let alone its only $400
Sound
Very nice sound. It isn't a gibson but thats why I bought it. Only $400 for a guitar that sounds like $1000 guitar. When I play clean with this, which isn't very often, I wish that I knew more clean songs. Sounds great clean and of course distorted.
Features
Some of the best stock pick-ups I've ever heard. The tremolo bridge seems to be working fine. It stays in tune. The whammy bar is very annoying. It always moves because you just poke it in there.
Ease of Use
Plug n' Play. The manual will tell you everything from adjusting the action to changing strings and everything else.
Quality
Great build. It will last a 5-10 years, depending on how you treat it. The bridge is the only thing that might need replacing after 2-4 years.
Value
Great price for a great guitar. Worth $1k or at least $700
The Wow Factor
Best looking guitar I can afford. Sure it doesn't look exactly like JEM, but it looks good enough for me and everyone whose seen it.

"Great product"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Great guitar
Sound
This guitar sounds as good as it looks. if you like rock or metal, then this guitar is for you becuase it handles distortion like a pro.
Features
The neck is simply amazing, its so fast in smooth you cant help but fall in love with it. The only bad thing is that the tremelo bar does NOT screw into the bridge, this upset me cuz i like to go crazy on the trem bar and when it slides out of the bridge every 5 seconds it can get annoying.
Ease of Use
Extremely easy to use and extrememly confortable. its just a comfortable as a strat but plays alot better. changing strings can be a hastle with the licensed floyd rose, but once you get the hang of it, it isnt so bad
Quality
For the money, this guitar blows out all others. it sounds great, is very sturdy, and is just downright a mean guitar that is ready for a mean player
Value
Very good bang for the Buck, highly recommended
Manufacturer Support
I put an EMG 81 in the bridge position out of boredom mostly, i really didnt need it cuz it sounded pretty good without it.
The Wow Factor
this guitar is sexy, if you suck at playing guitar, atleast you can look good doing so with this guitar

"Ibanez + D'Addario = Unstoppable."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This is one of the coolest guitars I've played and I would recommend it anyone playing a junk Gibson, or some other piece of crap.
Sound
The sound is great when it's run through some chorus and distortion or at clean with delay. Single coil pickups definitely sound better, but this guitar has some pretty cool features that make up for it.
Features
I couldn't live without a double locking tremelo after buying this guitar. Plus it has 24 frets. The 350dx puts Fender Strats to shame. (As well as all other 22 or less fret guitars with no locking tremelo)
Ease of Use
If you're new to locking tremelos it can be a pain to tune at first, especially if you take all the strings off at once. I suggest doing one at a time and after you get used to it, it's not a big deal anymore.
Quality
This model has very good quality parts. I've only broken one string on this guitar that was a result of not using D'Addario. The neck is super fast but is thin so you have to be cautious with it.
Value
Ibanez holds good resale value because they are simply the best.
Manufacturer Support
I have never dealt with Ibanez and I hope I won't have to. The only thing I would like to see is the creation of Graph Tech saddles for the Edge tremelo.
The Wow Factor
Never settle for less than double locking tremelo.

i never expect to trade this in, th guitar is a good value with a lot of capabilities for playing different types of music, i like it a lot
Sound
the sound is very versatile, the five way switching between pickups offers a lot of options, i wish there were more tone options though.
Features
it included a cheap ass cable and a whammy bar, manuals too
Ease of Use
this guitar is very easy to shred with, ive never played so fast. if you have big hands like me this is a good guitar for you because the neck is nice and flat and the action is nice.
Quality
very good, i havent seen one error in the way this guitar is built its stirdy and well made
Value
for the money this is a great guitar, the sound is close, very close to the vai without spending 2000 bucks or more

Mid Range. Not quite a beginner guitar. But not Proffesional either.
Sound
Sound is alittle on the thin side. Good tone in a live situation, rather lacking presence when recording.
Features
An original Floyd Rose tremelo would benefit the guitar more than the stock Edge ll, which tends to wear down on the saddle and create a sharp spot that causes string breakage. Inlays and fretfinishing are unbeatable.
Quality
Edge ll tremelo unit feels alittle cheap. This cheapness maby be the leading factor to explain why it false out of tune easily.
Value
Unbeatable guitar for the price range.
Manufacturer Support
New pickups, especially two new humbuckers will add alittle punch to the guitar.
