"The best cheap bass!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
With a set of new strings and new pickups it is my favorite 5 string bass for live playing. Not good for studio since it sounds very very dry and the sound you get on studio is not very clear.
Sound
When I bought this bass I wasn't expecting anything more than a practice bass for home. When I played that bass guitar I couln't believe that it could sound and feel so nice. I play a variety of music and it definetly suits most styles. I have use this bass guitar for concerts even having higher priced basses to play with. It sounds good live but not so good in studio. I recomend this bass to beginers and people who play live.
Features
You can't expect much for the strings that comes with the bass, and the finish gets ugly very quickly when you use a lot of slap techniques. If you can change the pickups to active ones and lower the action will help a lot with slap "funk".
Quality
As I said finish won't look good after a few weeks if you use slaps techniques.
Value
Very good priced product. This one actually sounds great and is cheap.
Manufacturer Support
Ibanez is just great.
The Wow Factor
It's my favorite bass for live playing. I play rock, funk, jazz, salsa (latin music) and gospel music and it sounds great on all styles.

Sound
To much treble. For my sound,I'm a funk bassist.Through the years basses have gone to a treble heavy sound. There have been alot alot of good bottum heavy basses made. The GSR205 is the first 5-string bass I have ever owned.Very nice to play, the action is great, and it looks great!I have been playing for 17 years, this is a good bass, but would like to see it with more bottum at the same price.

"Works for my needs"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I have several 4-string basses (Peavey T-40, Peavey Dyna-Bass, Semi-homebrew bass, but this is my first 5-string bass. I'm 74 yo, play in church and with a band on the nursing home circuit. I have light gauge GHS flatwounds (hate roundwound strings!), and have no complaints. I play through a Peavey TNT with a Black Widow 15". Weighs a ton but sounds really nice!

"Buy this Bass if you don't have the "FUND-AGE" for one of Ibanez's upper quailty Bass's, like a SR405 or a Ibanez BTB406QM bass."

I'm already looking to unload it for a Ibanez SR405 5-String Electric Bass Guitar to replace this one.
Sound
String's buzz on the "B" string right out of the box. It does have good/average low end. The "G" string get's "tiny" sounding up around the high G note.
Features
No accessories are included, this is just a low budget bass.
Quality
Where to begin... The bass was not tested at the factory very well. It buzz's in about 3 place's on the neck. I had to adjust the neck, and bridge to get the string's to stop buzzing. It buzz's on the bridge near the pick-up's. Not sure how to get this out of it. The case design is a little to small for the Bass, it just doesn't fit right, it's to tight on the upper body, note this the correct case we'er talking about, not some after market knock-off! At least the electronic's work as they should!
Value
Not worth the cost. You can get a better Bass for a few buck's more.
Manufacturer Support
No support was asked for, I took it back to the music shop where it was bought for help.
The Wow Factor
Look's O.K. Sound's like a beginner's bass.
