"Ibanez DT class guitar-unbeatable."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I will probably keep this guitar for a very very long time. Though it could be slightly modified with more pickups or the likes, it is quite sufficient as is.
Sound
this guitar has got a great sound, it can be used to play almost any type of thing fairly efficiently.
Features
this guitar is quite simple but at the same time very intense, with two humbucked pick ups you can produce a wide variety or sounds. Though the guitar does not come in my favored color, it has an awesome shape and the fret board is very easy to move around on. To those of you who do not enjoy having a whammy bar this is a good guitar it has a nice hard tail very easy to string.
Quality
The quality of this product is very high, obviously not one of the lower Ibanez's. there are no loose parts or anything of the sort, the whole guitar seems stable as if it were all one piece. the finish is very good and would not wear off even in the intensist playing very light durably body, though it may not keep a note for the longest amount of time it is very easy to wield.
Value
This guitar is well worth the price, probably more than that, but Ibanez always has a low price for a better guitar.
Manufacturer Support
I have not contacted the company, because there has not been one flaw with this guitar.
The Wow Factor
this has got a great shape tha caught my eye from the beginning, at first you may think it was designed for looks not ability but that thought is quickly thrown out the moment you play it. Though some of the earlier models of the DT class only come in apple red, which in my opinion is not attractive, it makes up for it with everything else.

"Oh, c'mon... you KNOW you want it! (ATTENTION METALHEADS)"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

The one I own is identical in every way to this product, except I bought mine brand new in 1996, and its model is DTH 400. I know, it wasn't in the catalogue. As far as anyone I know is concerned Ibanez didn't make any Destoyers in 1996. I have no explanation. I am currently shopping for a red one as its bookend. Thank goodness Ibanez started making the cases for these again!
Sound
Through the rig I use, a Marshall VS100R and 4x12 cabinet, this baby sounds a whole lot like a a Vintage Les Paul... especially at higher gain levels. And that's a good thing... a REAL good thing!!
Features
The only real pain in the neck I found was that there was not enough adjustment in the bridge to properly intonate the guitar. The saddle screw bores are offset, and I had to flip one around backwards for it to intonate properly. It's currently held in place by string tension and nothing more.
Quality
In my particular example, except for the above noted saddle problem, absolutely perfect.
Value
At the very least, comparable quality at a comparable price.
Manufacturer Support
I've been an Ibanez guy for many years now and I always find the company reps to be helpful and friendly.
The Wow Factor
If you've ever lusted after one of the guitars from the '80s Def Leppard videos, you already know why.

"My Destroyer Rocks!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I believe this product will stay in my collection forever, even if it isn't my number 1 forever. Its look drags eyes over to me, its feel makes me play to the best of my ability, and its sound is very good for any style of music.
Sound
This guitar is probably the best sounding stock guitar I've bought. It's bridge pickup has a good amount of output for high gain with balanced mids and highs. The neck pickup attacks with enough bass to make the clean sound jump from the speakers. I play aggressive music, so I'd suggest getting a higher output bridge pickup. Other than that though, it sounds GREAT.
Features
I like the 2 volumes one tone knob arrangement. It makes perfect sense to me. i also like that the neck is not painted, that makes it so sliding up and down the fret board is not difficult.
Quality
This guitar seems that it is made with the utmost eye on quality. I got mine with a natural finish. It looks better than any other natural top I've ever seen. It is made with good parts that can handle the abuse from the road.
Value
Yes, it's very worth it, for less than most you can sound better than most.
Manufacturer Support
I've never dealt with them.
The Wow Factor
The shape is one of those things that people pay $1,000's for. I got a great feel for this shape for a very affordable price. It isn't the best guitar on the planet, but it's appeal makes it seem that way.
