great pedal
Sound
I love the pedal. I think it is a little expensive but it definitely fills the room and fits the need. I have owned the line 6 rotomachine and the boss rt-20. It definitely trumps the line 6 however I don't see the value in sound over the boss rt-20.

I like the features of the pedal such as the cu-1 input, selectable cabinets

The pedal seems as if it is well built and looks wonderful.
Value
I have purchased other "leslie" pedal and I don't see the $200.00 price difference compared to the boss rt-20 based on my limited expertise.

The Wow Factor
You can't make good organ music without some sort of leslie most of the time. The pedal does a good, but not exceptional job of providing a leslie feel.

"Rotary Speaker Simulators Are Like Comparing Apples and Oranges...Usually."
I expected the makers of Hammonds and Leslies would've nailed the next "big" rotary speaker simulator since the Neo Ventilator. I was wrong. I have several gripes with this pedal. 1. IMHO, the effect is subpar. Listen to the Neo Ventilator (or even the significantly cheaper BOSS RT-20) and you'll hear that three-dimensional "grind". Search for "Pink Floyd On The Run" on YouTube. You'll hear what I'm talking about. This is ESSENTIAL for an authentic Leslie sound. Unfortunately the HDLP has a very slight phaser/flanger sound instead (e.g. the Tech 21 Roto Choir) with a somewhat sophisticated stereo panner.2. The point of having all those dials is to get some use out of them. Unfortunately three of them fall short. - The distance control simulates a mic right in front of the cabinet to only 3' away. Three feet makes almost no difference on a blaring Leslie and the same applies here. A dial goes from 1 to 10 with practically no variation. Some..but then what's the point? (The Neo nails this one - a close mic for an intense effect or backed off nicely for a more ambient one.) - The overdrive is another let down. Crank it up and you'll just barely get a bluesy overdrive. Barely. It works better as a volume boost. - The volume dial goes from 1 to 10 yet I found it was still just a tad softer than the bypass signal even when maxed. The Overdrive control compensated for this. If you have a volume control there should ALWAYS be some "wiggle room".The HDLP's big plus are the four selectable types of Leslies: the 122, 147 for a brighter tone, 18V (aka Fender Vibratone) and the stationary PR40 which has its own tonal characteristic, much like a wah/modulation stuck in one position. It adds some nice subtle "colour". A plus is the Brake button which wasn't on the Neo. That required an additional foot switch bringing the total cost to almost $600!I A-B-C'd all three pedals and sadly the HDLP came in third place. Neo won hands-down followed by the RT-20 (and for only $199). A missed opportunity for Hammond. Sadly the most impressive thing about this pedal is having the name "Leslie" painted across it.

Though I don`t think this pedal is a complete failure, there is one thing that Im surprised I havent read somewhere. The NOISE. This pedal has a high pitch noise that isnt really loud but when you have two mics on your rig and you are playing into 10,000 watts of PA, the noise is terrible. WHY?? Why would they not address this first and foremost. No its not my cables, nor amp, nor anything else of mine. Its the pedal. And why not a few other things as well but these things were addressed already here.

I have had this pedal 3-4 years and have had it repaired once because it started cutting out. Costing $150-$75. Apparently the wires were too small. So my repair guy made the wires longer and also installed some capacitators Now a year later it is cutting out again and I am angry. This should last a lot longer and I expected more from a Hammond product. Unfortunately, the sound is good, does a great job. BTW, I own a B3 and a Leslie 122 and know what I am talking about.
