HardWire CM-2 Tube Overdrive Pedal

This pedal operates with 2 modes: Classic and Modified. Classic delivers a clean, articulate overdrive, while Modified delivers a bluesy tone with more gain.

"Best OD Peadl I Have Ever Owned"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

Not looking any more, and would absolutely replace it if lost or stolen.
Sound
This is just a great all-arond OD pedal. It can go from mild tube-OD to heavy distortion. It was very easy to dial in that sweet spot that I have been looking for. The Modify switch makes this a very versital pedal, able to get a wide range of tones. I used to have an OCD and a FullDrive-2, but they were replaced with the CM-2. Diditech mti the mark with this one.
Features
The low and high EQ's are the best feature of this pedal. Makes it very easy to shape the tone to your liking.
Ease of Use
Great tones form this pedal. By far the best OD I have owned.
Quality
Built like a tank.
Value
Very low price for the quality, compared to other Boutique OD's.
Manufacturer Support
I had a Digitech Chorus stop working, sent it out for warranty repair, had it back and repaired in less than 2-weeks.
The Wow Factor
great Detented dials and the "Stomp-lock" is a nice plus.

Sound
this is a very great pedal,i love that it switches from classic to modified its like having a ibanez ts-9 and a fulltone ocd in 1 pedal excellent value for the price.
Features
switches between classic and modern and has a full eq present on the pedal for sound shaping
Ease of Use
its a pedal ! ya dial in ur perfered tone and click it
Quality
built like a tank has a very nice metal casing i expect decades of use out of it unless someone pulls a chord out at an angle.
Value
this is possibley the best overdrive in the price range.
Manufacturer Support
not had to deal with support, wich i consider to be a good thing.
The Wow Factor
this is a very attractive boutique looking pedal and to buy a boutique one that sounds as good you'd be paying 200$ or more

"For those times when real tubes might get broken..."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Overall I like this pedal, but do not love it. I love real tube overdrives, but they are more fragile and harder to set up when you are away from home. This is a solid fill-in.
Sound
Good sound that breaks out of the usual nasal mode that some electrical engineers seem to think sounds like a tube. It has good, but not great, low-level distortion. That said, I have not found a simulator pedal that does any better.
Features
Good features. A 3-way, instead of 2-way, hotwiring option switch would have been nice.
Ease of Use
Easy. Just play around.
Quality
Good solid stomp box that can take some stomping --like other Hardwire boxes.
Value
Good value. If you want to just make noise, then buy something else cheaper (doesn't have to be green, either). But if you want to explore the sounds that lie between "clean" and "berserk" then this is a good pedal for that.
