Due to back trouble was looking to lighten up. There's a lot off buzz on the web about people looking for a light electric guitar. This one weighs 5.3 pounds. You're basically getting a hollow body electric without the f-holes. The guitar gives a quite wide range of sounds.
Sound
The pickups are somewhat like P 90s but brighter. I can get from a mellow jazz sound all the way to a telecaster-like treble.
Features
All the parts are good. No complaints with the components.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use. I'm playing it through a Fly Rig at the moment. Very playable. The fingerboard is pretty flat. I like that. Sort of like a Les Paul. In fact, this was Guild's answer to the Les Paul in the 50s. But it's different. The hollow body feels and sounds great.
Quality
Very well made. Solid reliability. Stay in tune, intonation perfect out of the box. It should be noted that the bridge is not screwed into the top; it floats, like on a jazz box. This means that when you change strings, you need to either do one string at a time so the bridge doesn't move or reseat the bridge after you change strings. Any guitarist should be able to do this in about 30 seconds.
Value
Yes.
Manufacturer Support
Never dealt with them.
The Wow Factor
The sound, the light weight the feel of it.

I have owned many guitars from most of the manufacturers. Guild has always been a favorite for me. They are easy to play, a nice weight and right on the money with fit and finish. My Guilds rival my Gibson's easily. This Aristocrat does not disappoint. It's a great weight so you won't break your back, it's comfortable to play and you can do any style of music with it. Body size is perfect not too big and not too small. Neck is really comfortable. I plug it into many amps, Quilter, Fender, Orange, etc. and each has a great sound. It is also lively enough to play unplugged if you just want to noodle around. Definitely would buy it again and highly recommend it. You can get a more expensive guitar, but really some of the most iconic players used junk guitars from pawn shops, so how much do you need to really spend? I have found whether I spend money on a high end guitar or a budget guitar, I still sound like me. LOL
Sound
Sound quality is perfect. The Aristocrat is very responsive to the touch and the neck plays like butter.
Features
There is no bad feature on this guitar.
Ease of Use
Your sound depends on you and how you play.
Quality
Extremely well made as all Guild guitars I have played are
Value
This guitar shoots well above it's price tag. You can spend more but won't get anything you can't get here.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor
The guitar is a beauty. Many people ask me what it is and love the sound.

Alright... I too needed a lighter guitar because of back problems...had seen lots of vids and reviews stating 5.3lbs...however...this one is a little over 6lbs...HOWEVER , it is still much lighter than both of my strats...and the neck is really phenomenal...something very right...love the P90's...the tone controls respond well...I initially was going to send it back...but after speaking to Guild (and yes , they actually e-mail you back quickly)...it's a keeper !! P.S...I gave a 4 1/2 on the value because it should come WITH a gig bag & does not...

"Guild Guitars"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
got my first Guild in 1955. An a-150 Savoy. by 1964 we were gigging locally and having fun.i'm an old fart with authoritis now and i play my D-55 and my Peregrine S7CE Custom at home.I believe, Guild, Made To Be Played.
Sound
have never needed manufacture support. my 2011 D-55 has an amazing tone and sustain. the loudness is as expected for a Deadnaught. i have a 1978 Yamaha FG-335 that rivals the D-55s sustain but overall you can tell the difference with your eyes closed.the Peregrine is as smooth a player as i've played. for backgeound, i have a '09 Gibson Les Paul Studio and a 1961 Gibson ES 125 and have owned a '64 Fender Jaguar.
Features
as far as features, they don't vary that much today. lets's face it, the primary features are strings, fretboard and sound box, and the pickups and other onboard components are pretty much the same from a manufacturing standpoint.
Ease of Use
Guild Guitars have always been easy to play from Manhatten to Westerly.whatever sound you can get from your mind to your fingeres is there waiting. dark hotel room, eyes closed, a players mind twisted just right, you can make it talk any language you want.
Quality
all i can say is i have never owned a Guild that wasen't right from the go.
Value
i am buying a Guild Aristocrat and if i live another two years I'll have a Guild Starfire too.and if things are good a Fender Vibrolux, a Gibson GA-5, and if really good a Chase Elliot built GA30 RVS. my current amp is a Fender Evil Twin. love it.
Manufacturer Support
Nope, just the dealer shop or owner.
The Wow Factor
every Guild i have ever played felt like it was made for me.regardless of what sound you want try a Guild first.

This is a very nice small-body guitar. The hollow body gives enough volume by itself to allow practicing and playing without disturbing others. I will carry it in the RV.I've been playing Guild guitars since 1964. My first being a X-500 DeArmond. I regret selling the guitar in 2000. Since then, I've had several new Guild guitars and my 'current' favorited is a Sunburst non-electric D-55, but... it's a little large for the RV.My younger brother just received a new D-55E and loves it. I have never been disappointed with the Guild brand. The star rating I've provided is based relative to this particular model and expectations.
