Gibson 2017 SG Special T Electric Guitar (with Gig Bag)

The SG Special T is easy on your budget yet still cranks out snarling tones. The mahogany construction and dual humbuckers keep the vintage SG spirit alive.

Great guitar, I got the Ebony version and I must say i love everything about it. Been playing anything from indie to heavy metal and it handles itself pretty good. The neck is pretty comfortable, I usually play Ibanez I would say the neck profile is like the wizard HP, The frets were all on point, presice intonation and tunning out of the box. The sound quality is great. It's like I am playing a les paul on steroids. It has that agressive sound to it. The finish is gorgeous, easy to clean. I'm impressed, I usually buy high end Epiphone so this is my first Gibson, and I don't think it will be my last one.

I bought the 2017 SG Special for my son, who has been playing for about two years. First off, you can not beat this price. The guitar arrived at my house two days after I ordered it. Came with a gig bag, but I did buy a HSC for it as well. The satin finish is pretty cool, but there was a blemish by the strap button, but I over looked that. It has a nice slim neck, and was set up pretty good right out of the box. The action is a little high, but the bridge is all the way down, so I will need to lower the nut to get the action lower. The pickups sound great through a Bugera G5 and through a Marshall DSL 100. Has a really nice Sabbath tone. Over all, this is a really great guitar for the money, and I see know issue with quality and is everything you would expect from Gibson. This is the 3rd Guitar I bought out of the 2017 line up, and every single one has been top notch.

This is a great guitar. The look is what I wanted and the sound is very clean. Everything about this guitar is Gibson but you can tell how the budget was cut out on paint and fret work. The frets are a little sharp around the 15th and up, not really a problem. The paint is junk, orange peeled. But, I knew what I was getting. I like this look and I love the price!

First off let me say i ordered this guitar using the standard free shipping which said 5-7 business days and almost exactly 24 hours after i clicked confirm purchase is was at my door. The guitar is Amazing, action is a little high out of the box but was easily adjusted and now plays like a dream. This was my first Gibson but i did own 2 epiphone sgs prior and the difference is very clear and was worth every penny more i paid for it. All in all fantastic guitar with a wide range of capabilities.

They are great guitars, but be ready to send back 3 or 4 before you get one without cosmetic blemishes on them. zZounds has been great and very understanding about this matter.

I was going to purchase the deluxe imitation leather soft case for my satiny Ebony Goddess. My Gibson 2017 SG-T Special in satin ebony is now the 2nd of 2 Gibsons I now own and I am in love. In love with Gibson. Purchased as a 'blemish' for $729 with soft sided case, it along with my honey burst Les Paul Tribute/w, P90's have stolen my heart. whie I love my Fenders, n Epiphones, my heart belongs to Daddy Gibson. Sweet tone, sustain for days. stayin tune. What great bang for the bucks. Thank you Gibson!
Sound
staying in tune no problem. the strings slapback respond well
Features
neck, fretwork, balance, humbuckers evenly balanced. the mahogany gives it a warm honk in the bridge position
Ease of Use
i have been playing about 5 years. I received the SG about 3 days ago and I have barely spent time to sleep. it is like butter to play easy peasy. you will be tickled pink or whatever color you wish to use.
Quality
i found not one thing I could find out of place/ almost in tune from the case
Value
oh hell yes it is worth everypenny
Manufacturer Support
