I do not intend to get caught up in "if the horns are cut exactly as the original 61 was". If you want a great guitar with much if not all the "FEEL" of the 61 take the advice of someone who was around playing at that time. I am far from sure if this is an exact copy of the 61 SG. What I do know is it plays very much like an older guitar in touch, feel, action and tone, doesn't cost 10K or more, comes with a warranty if something goes wrong and plays and sounds great! To me, thats whats important. Blessings.......

Gibson has hit a home run with this reissue! This guitar actually looks ,sounds and plays better than the original. The sideways vibrato actually works on this model and the look and feel is a work of art. i have not had any contact with manufacturer so cant really comment on this yet.

"Looks like a nice guitar but a 61 reissue it's not!"

I have played it and I would like to have it... but it's nothing like my real 61 LP SG the body sculpting is wrong and the tremolo is way wrong. Paying at least 10 times its price for a real one, is insane. I think that this guitar is worth the cash. though the body sculpting on my 61 is better looking it is minor and I like the lyre vibrato better. I got mine in 1975 and hope to have it much longer. It still plays and sounds great.I own a ral 61
