Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus Electric Guitar (with Case)

The Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus is a fine upgrade. With a PLEK set-up and a chambered mahogany body, the Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus is a must-have.

"Just Great!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I play Strats almost exclusively, but needed another L.P. certain tonal qualities that come from nowhere else, without a lot of add ons. Have had several L.P.s in the past, but this one is a keeper. I had sixties neck L.P.'s but this one, asemetrical just fits, tone fit and finish are great. After set up, this baby just sings to me!
Sound
Tone!! Everything you expect from a Les Paul. Sweet crisp clean tones, to the snarl, growl you need. Very responsive to the touch, sweet to nasty.. Blues, Rock, in the right hands it will perform most styles with ease. Tube amps, Fender and Peavey, live!
Ease of Use
Just great., I have had several L.P.'s in the past and this one I will keep!
Quality
Fit and Finish are great on mine. This was supposed to be a blem, very hard to spot anything. Hardware is top quality. She did need a good set up from my tech, but any guitar in my opnion has to be set to your individual touch.
Value
In this case, I got what I paid for. I consider Gibsons a bit expensive, but this one is a cherry!
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed any support.
The Wow Factor
Mine is the Desert Burst, I looks even better than the photo's.

A long time. Several years.
Sound
This Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus has a clean bright tone and beautiful finish. The sustain on the guitar is great and I love the new style wiring and locking plug jack. The attention to detail is what you would expect from a Gibson. The last time I purchased a new Gibson Les Paul was in 1975. It was an ebony L.P. Custom with the gold hardware and I like this guitar more. It sounds great through my line 6 Spider from clean to super distorted with delay. Thank you for such a wonderful instrument Zzound. I would reccomend this guitar and your services to any musician looking for a fair deal and a quality instrument. Thank You John V / Hammond, IN
Features
Grover Pro Machine Heads. Pro Burst bucker Pick Ups. Optimal potentiometers and a wiring I.C. that wil kake future repairs a snap. All the wires plug into the board like computer terminals. The PlekD sytem for true fret alignment. The body was made lighter by routing out tuned ports in specific locations that make it sustain better and keep the weight down compared to most solid body Les Pauls. The special system Gibson employs on the finish is even, and beautiful. I wish it had the Floyd rose trem bar, but I could always add that later. Thanks John V / Hammond, IN
Ease of Use
Sounds great right out of the case. Left off the pic guard (my personal preferance).
Quality
Its a Gibson, always quality made. The finish is cherry, and no loose parts. Looks like it will outlast me and something I can give to my son.
Value
I think it is worth the price I paid or more.
Manufacturer Support
Never directly
The Wow Factor
It is the first Guitar I named "Like a ship" so it is more person alized to me and not just a guitar but a memory.

This thing is a tone MONSTER!!!!!!! Subtle when you want ,,,,A BEAST when you want,,,,,,,What more do you want??
Sound
This thing is a Dr. Jekyl, Mr. Hyde type of feeling.. It can growl and then a second later purr like nobodys business.
Features
Locking tunners and input jack,.......They are ok but not deal breakers.
Ease of Use
Plays like butta!!
Quality
PERFECT!!!!!!!
Value
Could be cheaper, but, you wouldn't have a Gibson.
Manufacturer Support
Have dealt with them before with a different guitar , and it was top notch.

Les Paul Standard Plus Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
The Les Paul sounded great with the stock pickups. I prefer the bridge pickup to be a little more midrange crunch. So with that being said, I changed the bridge pickup to a Gibson 498T. Most players though will love the stock pickups. Overall this is a great Les Paul Model!
Features
I love the weight relieved body! I was surprised that it did not effect the sound of the guitar at all. I own 8 other Les Paul's and none sound better than this model. This is now my go to guitar!
Ease of Use
The neck is the right blend of a 59 and 60 Les Paul. I usually prefer large C shape 59 style necks. Overall I think Gibson got this design right! I would buy another.....
Quality
Flame Top is amazing....I have the Iced Tea. The only issue besides the the Pickup change (again personal preference) was the locking Grovers. Again most players will love these but I changed to standard Grovers (again personal preference)
Value
I am a Gibson guy......My only complaint as with others are that these models a very high priced. Compared to other guitars the Les Paul is the Cream of the Crop in my opinion but I feel the price is a little on the steep side. This model should be priced around $1999.99 not $2699.99. I feel all Gibson's are over priced new. With that being said this is a really great guitar!
Manufacturer Support
No need so far.....
The Wow Factor
Gibson Les Paul's are back to being the number 1 guitar to play!

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
hmmm i think it would be in my collection of all my guitars... and MAYBE sell it when i know that theres a better one. for me ..
Sound
i think that the sound was very clean and it sounded just like i made it sound with out crapy noise, of course i started using the product on a marshal amplifier but i thought maybe it was the marshall that made it sound very good.... so i whent to a cheaper amplifier and AMASING it sounded as good as on the marshal amp. i love the sound its like a perfect sound.. for me ofcourse
Features
i dont know
Ease of Use
i loved thee shape of the lespaul the neck was just like i love it the perfect fit and the buttons all as the usual. but i think that the only difference was the input for the cable that it has a lock.
Quality
i didnt find a defect i thought that it was just perfect for me,but it wasnt the best of all guitars.
Value
the value it kind of high.... it should be a 10 or 15 not a 22.
The Wow Factor
YES !
